Registry Edits Not Working in K-JAM_WWE_216901 AT ALL - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Any ideas? None of the registry edits have worked at all- not the BT button for voice command (heck the hard button for voice command doesnt even work) my ringtone directory wont change, nothin is working. ANY ideas?

Same thing here. First tried the "do not delete CABs after installation" registry edit, and it does not hold. Then tried some others and none of them hold.
I'm tempted to go back to my previous ROM...

I found that when I edit a registry entry and do a soft-reset with the stylus, the setting is returned to its original value.
However, if I do a soft reset via MemMaid, it holds....

i did reg edits fine on this rom. I successfully did the caps and fn key indicator. but i'm having problems with editing the ext.

I have made a couple of edits, non you have listed, but the Edge differentiation, Disconnect button for gprs/edge connection, and one more that I can't remember what it was. But after all of them I reset the unit by holding the power button until it warns you may loose data. then powered it back up.

worked fine for me. Made color edits, added GPS icon, added IE favorites...
all have stayed and work fine.

i've just installed newest i-mate rom, did some reghacks using PHM RegEdit and all of them are working perfectly.
btw, maybe you should try to switch off (i mean holding power button for more than 2-3 seconds) and on device than soft-reset it with stylus? that's what i always do and maybe this is right solution?

If you soft reset with the stylus, the reg goes back to the manufactures original. (ie. changes will not stay)
If you soft reset by holding the power button down or using another program, the changes will remain.

The phone caches stuff in RAM for a while - if you reset too quickly changes are lost.
A powerdown flushes the cache before it turns off.

Please help, I can't read text msg and url after open...

Hi,
Please give me a hand...
I can read text messages' headline only, but I can't read the contents.
Whenever I touch any headline, which shows blank.
Actually it's empty (white screen without format).
And IE was happening as the same case also.
Sigh...
I recently installed a trial version software as a cleaner for release more memories.
I deleted some files and let main memory of 13% free,
but I'm feeling so bewilder that I have making a quite mistake.
I couldn't read webpages on ie and couldn't read any text messages on mailbox,
after I deleted "some lnk files", "the whole directory of GPRS MONITOR
in My Device\Program Files\" on my O2 Atom.
Could any one help me to solve my problem, please? :?
You have to try to reset your device.
Have you tried the soft-reset of your device ?
If that does not work you will have to do a HARD reset.
For soft reset, press the small recessed button at the bottom of the Atom.
For HARD reset (you will lose all your data, but at least you will get back a working Atom), with the Atom OFF, press the small recessed button at the bottom of the Atom AT THE SAME TIME press the power button at the top.
You will be prompted for hard reset press BOTH the CALL and HANGUP buttons.
Last option : Reflash yor ROM.

I've already tried soft reset it for many times before I post this message. :?
 I made the hard reset at last....
You're right, at least I can recover my Atom.

XDAII soft resets when powerbutton pressed

Hi,looking for some help please. The PDA has suddenly started to soft restart everytime the powerbutton is pressed, either to switch on or off. I can only get it to screen off on auto timed shut down. It will take incoming calls okay but if I press the on button to make a call it resets. Any ideas before I hard reset it? Last thing done was add a contact, no updates or the likes.
Had quick search for this but couldn't find an answer, for this problem just the jammed soft reset button which my has not got that works normally.
Thanks inadvance

Have you tried to switch it off by an application like ppcShutdown, to see if you have the same problem ?
Cheers,
.Fred
Hi Dotfred, I haven't no. It will time off okay after 3 minutes of nil use. But have to press the powerswitch to turn back on. Then wait for soft reset function to run its course.
Do you have to use the powerswitch with ppc shutdown to 'switch' it back on?
I've been able to back everything up now so will try the hard reset see if that sorts it.
Any other thoughts would be appriecated
Many thanks

I was trying to find out if it was related to the switch off of the ppc or to the power button.
Since it seems this is purely related to the power button, I wonder if an installed prog has been assigned to the power button and so generates a soft reset. I think that your best choice is indeed a hard reset, because I really don't know if there is an easy way to find out what's happening with the power button.

Hard Reset

Hello everyone, I recently got a Titan, and was installing programs on it, and one of the Programs I installed deleted everything, and somehow deleted my password, so now I can't use my titan at all. I've searched the forum on how to Hard Reset it, but haven't had any luck.
How do I hard reset my Titan?
hold down the two soft keys (Claendar & Contacts) and then reset.
Keep holding the solf keys down until the reset screen appears.
Then just follow the on screen instructions.
More important, what program did you install so we can all avoid it?
The program was GSlide - http://freewareppc.com/utilities/gslide.shtml.
are there any keys in particular? I've tried resetting it and holding a variety of pairs of buttons with no luck, or will it take several minutes for the Screen to appear?
[EDIT]
It just hit me that all the paper manuals are from my service provider, that's why they're all useless, and the actual manual was electronic. I just looked up Hard Reset, and it said very specifically for a hard reset you hold the left and right Softkeys (The two with only a single dot on them)
Problem fixed Thanks
Regarding GSlide
Hi
Sorry to hear about your problems.
I am the author of GSlide. I just want to point out that GSlide should risk free as it actually does not install on your phone. The odds that your device hangs permanently because of GSlide is very unlikely.
The standard implementation of GSlide is a file explorer and as such it is of course sensitive to user actions.
thanks
Lars
hold the 2 buttons with dots under the screen, then with the stylus poke the small hole on the bottom of the phone to reset it, hold the 2 buttons till the screen comes on.

How can I sanitise my Wiz ready for sale?

I'm happy with my new Jade so need to sell my Wizard, so what's the best way to delete all my settings, installed programs, history, etc?
Do a hard reset to eliminate all input. The unit will now be as received when first purchased.
So to hard reset I:
"Hold the comm manager button and the voice command button at the same time. While holding these push the soft reset button. Keep your fingers on the Comm and voice Manager button. After about five seconds a screen will appear asking you to press the green send button."
Just to confirm if I do this no one can retrieve any of my settings?
A hard reset will work. To be completely clean, especially if you have a custom cooked ROM, I'd consider reflashing the device with a factory default ROM just to make 100% sure.

After a hard reset, no one can access any of your settings. If you have installed a custom ROM, it will still be there, but without any of your input.
Thanks, that looks like it worked. All I need to do now is find the manual and get it on eBay.

buttons not workin

ok i have a mogul 6800 and have not used my hard buttons for some time now. the scroll wheel works, round nav. button and power button. nothing else works while normal use. but heres what i dont understand, i can still hard reset my phone, and also put it in bootloader mode. but under normal circumstances they do not work. can some one help. i have taken it completely apart to see if by some chance something come lose, but nothing. also have tried a stock rom, several custom roms, and still get the same out come. is there a hardware upgrade by chance that might restore button function .
anybody?
not even a little help? something?
Wish someone smarter than I could help us out on this because mine is doing the same exact thing.
At first, I thought maybe the chip that worked those buttons failed but they work...for some things?? An example is my camera button will not open the camera but when I hold it and the power button and press reset, it will go to bootloader. My softkeys do not select and start the assigned program but when I hold both softkeys and press reset, I will do a hard reset.
I have tried reflashing my DCD 3.2.6 ROM, as well as several other DCD ROMs and Ryan's ROMs but the problem persists.
