Is there a way to set media player to open the library from the storage card by default instead of the phones library? Also is there any why to set it so it does not forget the song you are on?
Thanks
I have personally set up some playlists e.g. all music.asx, elvis.asx and place shortcuts to these in the program folder in a folder called music. Works well for me just tap on the icon and media fires up and plays - no need to go through all those menus
You have to set up the playlists on your desktop pc though and sync them across. You can edit the playlists in notepad though, hope this helps
Yeah, surely there's a registry hack for this... it's such a pain in the ass having to switch to Storage Card every time.
This might be off topic but I need the help.
On my windows media player desktop, I have numerous 'removable drive' or 'storage cards' showing up in my library. There seems to be no way to just right click and delete them.
ok... more off topic... has anyone been able to modify this free spb wmp plug-in so it opens play-list instead of library?

If you do what I do and rename the playlist file from *.asx to *.wmv then it should play it thinking its a song but actually a playlist - just downloading the pluging to verify it works
Tried the plugin sorry does not work with prev solution. I knew there was a reason i uninstalled it. I checked the registry too no hack there that i can see

is there anyway to make shortcuts for controlling WMplayer play next previouse ? what calls are needed and from what dll or exe?
hehe, are you thinking of putting that into ftouchflo so you can browse through music just by swiping?
(Coz funny enough I just thought of that and really want to know too)
I use TCPMP... anyone know shortcuts for that?
do you want to control the actual WMPlayer or want to write your own application and embed WMPlayer into it?
if embed then:

you'll find resources on how to embed WMPlayer in NetCF 2.0 Application by Alex Fienman
hope that helps
I think the easiest way is to send keystrokes for next and previous. Coupled with vijays sendkeys app it wouldn't be difficult to get it to work.

I'm making a skin that lets me do almost everything from his Launcher.
and I want to make one page for a player. so by pressing a icon it sends the comand to wmplayer or the todayplugin dll
I'm just thinking about all the apps I currently use on my Kaiser and how they'll work on the HD2 and i've got a quick question!
Assuming i leave all the HTC stuff as it is - how will I access apps that I currently access through the quicklaunch bar?
Examples of these apps are:
Magicall (used to screen/block calls)
PhoneWeaver (for customised profiles)
Pocketcontroller (remote desktop)
Also - does anyone know if SBSH's "Calendar Touch" integrates well?
Grateful for any feedback
(here's my current homescreen to show what i mean by the quicklaunch bar - in case i'm naming it wrong!)

You've got the choice of TouchFLO, Titanium (Windows Default, as it's called), or the old skool Today screen, as you've pictured.
I'd recommend playing with the first 2 before deciding how to set the phone up, as they offer a great deal of choice, especially with the excellent modding community on here.
There's a bunch of "buttons" on the home page of TouchFLO that allow you quick access to apps, contacts, or bookmarks, and you can arrange that as you like, so I assume that will give you the same thing that you currently have.
Hope this helps
Thanks
I know about the application shortcuts - but i'm not sure they'd offer the same functionality. For instance, when i tap on the PhoneWeaver button, it brings up a list of what profiles i can switch to etc, if i make a shortcut, i think it'll just load the program.
BTW remote desktop can be troublesome without stylus. I suggest you try it somehow before you buy it.

Oh right, I mean the other way round (remoting onto the phone from the PC)
Is there a way to choose custom folders in Sense Gallery or Android stock Gallery or Photos (Android 2.1) instead of having it show ALL the photos and videos?
I have an archive folder which has thousands of pictures and I don't want it showing up every time because it takes a while to load.
Or is there an apk that'll do this?
+1 I'm not a fan of this either... You can hide certain ones if you press menu but nothing specific.
Can't believe some of the brainiacs over here haven't figured this out yet..
create a ".nomedia" file in the folder

It's been discussed here before too
Gallery Enabler should do the trick. I haven't tried it on 2.2 yet but it works great on 2.1.

Gallery Enabler does the .nomedia trick, only from your phone so you can enable/disable folders whenever you like.

I know about the .foldername trick.. I don't like it though because a file or folder with . (period) in the beginning will not show up on my mac of pc either.. (on PC I could say view hidden files.. which again, I don't like..on Mac I'd have to install Houdini or something)..
Also It's a hassle when I WANT it to show.. in which case I'd have to rename the folder. I'd rather using a normal file name and not have it show

Awesome.. that worked. Thanks a bunch.
I've done the .nomedia file that hides the files from everything but then the alarm doesn't work anymore...
i'm talking about these files:

If you had done some search you would have find this one.
Maybe it helps.

If not, do your own search please.

Ok, then I'm sorry. But there are too much people that don't know how to use Google.. Maybe a tutorial would help.
Anyway, but as far as I read, you have tried to use the app nomedia and I think you have also tried to hide those folders with a "." in the beginning?
Maybe this?
Can't put a "." in front of a folder name and yes i've tried the app...
it hides all the mp3 files from the whole phone meaning the alarm and such.

I meant only a dot, not with those "
I know that I'm not stupid I've been using computers since 8th grade.
The files are also in /system folder and the Sd card
My theory is that if I delete them off the sd then they would be gone from system folder
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
Use Mixzing music player. You can specify what folder on the sd card the music is stored in. No need to hide anything. Oh, and it's freeeee!!!!
Thanks! XD
Ok I'm not too sure where to ask this, I just don't know.
I have tried searching here for the issue and searching Google for an answer but I still get nothing. My issue is not only with the stock music player on my phone but also with any other music player.
I have a very detailed and extensive mp3 list, all with album, title, artist, and artwork ID3 tags embedded in them. If I go to any music player and go into the "albums" tab it will show two or three of the exact same album several different times. All the tags are correct, it didn't used to be like this.
Does anyone know how to correct this? It just pisses me off because I have spent so much time making sure all the info on the songs are correct and this happens.
Here are some screenshots of what I mean.
In this one each Weathered album has two songs in it, but the A&A albums only have one each.

Use a tag editor such as MP3Tag, open the folder containing the files in question so you can view them side by side (in a column actually) and look for differences. If you don't see any, highlight all the files and recreate the Album tag to make sure there isn't some difference you just can't see or don't notice, like an extra space. Also look to see if there isn't some other Album tag, some players look at Album, Album Artist, AlbumArtist, etc. Good Luck.
Oh, and screenshot? Also, posting in a music tagging forum might yield additional help.
