MMS Notifications - Stopping - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Alright,
I've looked thru various forums and posts only to find this one the most informative and thorough. After processing some registry edits on my HTC Wizard/Cingular 8125, I'm looking for the edit to stop the 'message sent' notification/bubble that pops up. So many post about stopping the SMS one which I did edit successfully but none on the MMS. Not sure if it would be found in the /Software/Microsoft or /Arcsoft folders. I guess not too many ppl are sending MMS b/c this doesn't seem to be a large topic on any sites.
Thank to anyone who can provide the registry edit. (Not looking for any programs that perform these functions for me).

Selective Install on XDA Exec

Hi peeps.
After reading through various posts on this board, I thought I would hard resst my exec and install the cabs manually as suggested to get the features I want without the bloatware.
So far so good, installed everything I wanted and the connections only cab that is availble but, my MMS doesn't seem to work.
There is no MMS account in poutlook and there's noway that I can see of composing new MMS messages.
How does everyone else go on with this because when I've looked through some of the posts, everyone says thier SMS is working OK.
It's probably something stupid...
Cheers,
Smiff.
See? That's what happens when you don't proof-read your posts - there's loads of spelling mistooks and typos; and then no-one responds.
But seriously, someone else must have seen this as I'm not the only one to do a minimal install. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Smiff.
Answers in this thread for the cab file to install.

I've read that one multiple times but still have no working MMS in this situation...
I THINK
I beleive you have to create new account. It appears to be setting up email just continue through and at some point you can select type and set to mms. Then highlight account click on settings and put in your providers mms setting and bingo...
must say I havent had this problem on the exec but did on xdaiis and that solved it..
hope that helps
stay happy

Hi
Thanks for the tip but unfortunately, it didn't work that way
However, I have managed to get it working now - i did a hard reset again and a clean install and then installed 5 cabs - voicemail one, bt patch, both "shortcut" ones and the uaprof one.
The only thing I did differently this time from all the others is that I switched it off with the power button and on again before soft resetting it - i'm pretty sure that this did the trick
Cheers,
Smiff.

I posted in a thread a while back for the TyTN with a CAB file I made with Cingular settings in it.. That should help. All I remember is that it seemed to work for the user I posted it for, and someone else as well. It may help.
Look for one in this forum with MMS in the title. I'll see if I can dig it up and post it.

Threaded Text Messages

Hello all.
I just got my 8525 from Cingular yesterday. I love it. installed a bunch of programs already.

Try these keywords in google:
THREADED, SMS
It's hard but it should do the trick
Threaded SMS
This is a common complaint for 8525 users.
You have three choices: 2 legal and one not.
1 and 2: apps called TXTMan and "SMS Threader". Neither integrate well with the phone, most people remove soon after installing.
Option 3: install the app which Palm wrote for the Treo 700W, which has been hacked for use on any WM5 phone. Requires some tweaking, and you're on your own in terms of FINDING the app (Palm is apparently pretty aggressive about getting it taken down from most forums).
Here's how I got mine working on my 8525, here in Austin TX:
1) run the .cab, Soft Reset.
2) edit the registry to rename HKLM/Software/MS/Inbox/SVC/MMS1 to MMS1OLD, Soft Reset. Otherwise you still see MMS if you click your email hard button a second time.
3) Go into new SMS app, Menu, Options, Advanced:
Msg Center#: +12099042020
Email Center#: 121 <--this lets you send sms's to email addresses
MMS gateway address: 66.209.11.32
MMS URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Network Profile: MEdia Net
4. Delete Start Menu/Programs/Inbox(1) folder.
That's it - works GREAT. Hope this helps!

WM6 (n00b?) question: file-format/alert-program associations

Hey
Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for all the help you've provided me with, I've been searching all over this forum and have found more useful stuff than any "official" resource. Forums kick ass.
now onto my, quite possibly n00bish, question...
How would I go about changing the file-format <--> program-associations in WM6(ATT tilt)?
and also, this might be beating a dead horse, but I'm one of the many individuals still whining and crying about that memory error with cody's threaded SMS program, and couldn't find any posts mentioning a way to get the standard (oem) messaging program to open from any MMS alerts, while still having cody's app to handle the sms alerts...
or are sms alerts and mms alerts too similar to have WM6 open two different programs?
thanks again

HTC messaging registry editing

Hi
I'm having problems with the HTC messaging system, messages get stuck in the outbox. I'm aware of the many posts about this issue.
If you go to HKEY_Loccal_machine\software\HTC\HTCmessaging\Settings i've found a couple of lines (or what they call it) that looks interesting.
i.e:
EnableHtcRichEdit I don't know what this does, but it looks interesting
SendRetryIntervalTemp This for sure, might have something to do with why sms messages sometimes get stuck in the outbox for several hours, and then get sent?
I really don't know much about registry editing, but maybe editing something here would solve something?
