After installing the upgrade on my XDA, I can't sync my Avantgo anymore.
I know I need to enable the 'Connect securely' section, but I cannot choose it (Grey, and unable to select) in the property section of the Avantgo settings.
When trying upgrading through the internet, the autoexec installer stops to say that eveything's ok (Pocket pc 2003.)
When trying to install the software for Pocketpc 2003, it let me know that a newer version is alredy installed.
Is it my stupidity, or is it the price of ROM cooking?

It took me a while to configure Avant Go after upgrading to WM 4.00.10 or Pocket PC 2003.
Firstly download the Avantgo Client from the www.avantgo.com for windows CE or pocket PC. Once in your PC sync you PPC after you have set up the client. If you have a avantgo password [ or create one for you channels] log it into the client.
After synchronising . Click on Internet explorer on the PPC and Click on Avantgo. It should open up the channels like CNN etc.

Hi, can anybody offer advice on getting an eVB 2002 program to work on WM2005.
I previously used eVB runtime 2003 on my WM2003 no problem but program does not work on WM2005. Although the eVB runtime installs itself on WM2005 without error.
Any help would be appreciated.

i have a little problem so i try this way because i didn't find any way to solve the problem myself.
i had a qtek s100 with xbackup and windows mobile 2003. the device now is smashed so i get a new one (a qtek s200) running windows mobile 5 without xbackup.
this things i did try in the past:
- activesync backup but this one it is about 6 months old and not useful for me
- getting a xbackup.exe and try to run with windows mobile 5 - didn't work because of incompatibility
one thing to say: i used the xbackup.exe from this file:

so it could be possible that the asian xbackup doesn't work right?
i get this errormessage when running xbackup on windows mobile 5:
"unknown backup information error"
the whole xbackup language appears in english
- try to run many pocketpc roms like pocketpc 2003 (in description of microsoft downloadpage it was named windows mobile 2003), smartphone 2003 and some other roms with the microsoft emulator included in embedded visual c++ and some sdk's. the file could just be opened with the windows mobile rom for smartphone (should be windows mobile 5?) but the program crash with the error message i wrote above..
i didn't find an emulator-rom wich is exactly the operating system like from qtek s100. it could be interesting for very much people to find the right rom that is working to restore xbackup's. could be an easier way to help someone with backup problems like me.
please help me because i really need my contacts and if possible but not really importent my sms-messages.
i hope someone can find the right rom-image for the microsoft emulator.

Assuming the program Xbackup would work in WM5, you can't or must not restore a WM2003 backup file to a device running WM5.

it is not windows mobile 5 or 6.

I Edit The CAB File to Run on Magician (Edit with WinCE Cab Manager) Because Some People said that this Office Edition Compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 but Downloaded File Not Run on My Device
I edited the cab file, ran it on my device (2.03TX rom), it installed properly, but excel and word still don't work.
You have uninstall option on remove programs.
i finally got an alternative for office mobile! Softmaker office 2006.
Works great on my magician with 2.03TX rom!

well,i found softmaker office too, but i think this software takes bigger space & memory in our magician than original poc.excel ?

you're right, it takes more memory than original pocket excel.
i have a "version" of softmaker office wich doesn't need instalation, so i keep it on my sd card, and it only take about 6 or 7 mb.
anyway, i steel prefer to use softmaker office, because it doesn't need to convert windows office files via active sync, it's fully compatible with excel and word 2003...

Just downloaded Windows Live version 10.8 out of the wm marketplace but when I try to start up the application I get this error:
WLMMessenger is not a valid Pocket PC application.
Any one who knows how to solve this problem?

Problem fixed!
Solution:
WM Marketplace does not softreset the device after the installation.
So after installation manually do a softreset and all programs are working
