Sometimes when I get an SMS or reminder, etc, the orange LED flashes indefinetely, even when I've gone into inbox and read the message or acknowledged the reminder.
Sometimes I can go into notification options and click OK and it resets the notification LED back to flashing green, but other times it doesn't and is stuck flashing orange (so I never know if I have a new message without checking manually).
Is there any program that I can run in order to reset the LED manually rather than a reset? Thanks
You can try VIJayEschaton or EasyTweak (www.10gsoft.com)

After upgrading the ROM, I get an alert repeating on top of itself at start-up and soft reset! It's the most annoying thing! And since the shell has not yet been loaded, I cannot cut it off until it starts!
What is going on?!
#@(*$^!!
I had simuliar problem and managed to get rid of it by clearing notification queue. I used s-tools.
While I did not notice any negative consequences I can not tell you that this is 100 percent safe.
Dima
google for Check Notification
to detect any of the 'alerts' that are bugging you and delete them
i am getting TONS of 'alarm4' notification sounds coming out of soft reset (and now like all the time). almost everything in notifications is unchecked (except phone and emai messages). and nothing is set for 'alarm4'. when these notifications go off, there's nothing happening when they happen!
i feel like it's hard reset reload time. but i don't wanna do it again.... (but i have this whole westtek bluetooth printer problems to deal with....)
if i turn off all alarms/programs/notifications it doesn't happen. this is not a fix
You need to use a program like SK Tools to look at your notification lists and delete ONLY the ones you think are suspect (ex notifications for a calendar event that is no longer present).
thanks i'll try that next time. today the i just lost it and had to hard reset it.
well, it started to do it again. and i got the SK tools and did a clean up, and a delete duplicate notifications. but it's still doing the sporadic notifications on soft reset. this time they go off randomly for up to 5 minutes after the soft reset! there are not displayed nofitications. and none with vibrate enabled, yet there they are!
MOST ANNOYING!
any more ideas?
scary bear notifications can help.
screwing with the notifications can generally screw up the device.
i tried, and failed, and simply hard reset it and started again.
i found it was caused more so when a notification had come up, and you either voluntarily, or involuntarily had to soft reset the device.
but there is no conclusive evidence of this. just my input.
next day: i had to hard reset the device. it became totally unstable. i was getting 'unknown usb device' and 'battery low for PC card messages' (thought i turned that off). oh well, at least i keep good backups.
I have a problem with my tytn and messages.
I have a messages in my messagesbox, not much. I deleted some of those messages and do a soft reset at my phone. When i open messagebox again, all those deleted messages are back. I look what´s the problem and i discovered that all my messages witch i had received after 15.2.2007 will all missing and before 15.2 received messages will return to my messagebox, even that i permanetly deleted all those messages. So, it´s look like my messagebox gets somewhere "message-backup" wich has been taken 15.2.2007.
I did a hard reset and try if the problem will disappear. First that works fine, my messagebox worked as it´s use to work, but now it´s doing all the same things as before. Except now when i do a softreset, all my messages is disappeared.
Sorry my bad english, hope you understand what i´m writing about.
I can only think it works this way, when you do a soft reset it is like pressing the reset button on your pc?! so if Messaging is running when you reset you lose ALL unsaved changes. If you leave outlook alone for a bit the changes take effect (deleting and recieving messages?!)
What u need to do next time before u soft reset your device is turn off ur phone and wait for about 15 to 20 seconds so the mem will be written to ur phone rom. See if it helps.
Now i turn off the power and wait couple minutes and switch power on. All messages was still in my messagebox. Now, when i do a softreset, my messagebox will be same, as it was after i switch thge power off. So, it´s like making a "message backup" when i turn the power off and on. When i do softreset, my messaqgebox will return as same as it was after last power off/power on. So, what´s the problem`Do i have to bring my phone to serviceguys?
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me out with a problem I'm having.
I'm running the latest Energy Rom, which I've had no problems with until this morning.
I wrote a reply to a text message, hit send, and the phone froze. Literally would not do anything, so I had to remove the battery.
When I turned the phone back on, I went to the messages tab to check if the text had sent. I tapped All Messages, but nothing happened. I tapped it again, and still nothing.
I clicked on the current message on the previous screen, which then come up with a message saying 'Message recovering'. After that, I went back to the home screen, back to the messages tab and tried All Messages again. It now brings all the messages up, but for approximately 1-2 seconds, and then closes and goes back to the Sense text preview screen on the messages tab. I've tried it several times, restarted, etc, but it still only let's me view it for a second or two. I've tried quickly clicking to change the folder (i.e to sent items), but it does the same.
I have just spent ages getting this phone up and running the way I like it, and I really do not want to have to do a hard reset!
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Since the latest update I have been unable to receive LED notifications. Before the update I had:
1. Blue LED flashing for Touchdown Exchange messages
2. Yellow for incoming SMS
3. Green for pushed pop or gmail
4. Red for missed call
These seemed default as I didn't set these up specifically. I liked this arrangement. I should note that I use GoSMS Pro as my SMS client.
To remedy my new lack of LED notifications, I've attempted a few applications from the market, specifically called Light Flow, even trying the "test mode" to cause dancing LEDs. It did not fix this problem. I've also tried a dancing LED/disco LED apps from the market, with no blinking LEDs.
The only LED I get now is when I plug in to charge, a green LED.
Has anyone seen this or have any ideas on how to remedy this issue? I really liked being able to see what was flashing and get an idea on the source of the beep, it would help me decide if I should ignore it without even unlocking the phone.

I haven't had this happen at all. Mine still give the correct LED notifications that it always has.
If you are on stock firmware, have you considered a factory reset? It's the only thing I can think of and might narrow down the problem. If you do the reset and it continues to persist than it isn't an issue with the OS but instead either the hardware or an app.
Thank you for your reply.
I have been extremely hesitant to do a factory reset. I use my phone primarily for work purposes (although it is rooted), it's loaded down with QuickOffice files and Touchdown is all configured the way I like it. A reset really has to be a last resort.
I do remember I had installed youmail and this notification thing happened shortly after. I have uninstalled that application but the LED notifications haven't returned.
Strange issue.

Strange indeed. I wish I could say something else that would help, but I can't. If you end up doing a factory reset, get titanium backup and backup all the files, use SMS backup+ to backup all the messages to your gmail account, and then just copy all the files over to the PC or a new SD card.
The factory reset should only take an hour at most to recover from if you take precautions and back up everything prior to it.
If you want to root and enable sideloading after the reset, you will need to use Gingerbreak. If you do this, make certain your external card is not in when this happens and that you have no data stored on the internal card as it will erase the internal card.
Hi Darrell,
I have purchased Titanium Backup Pro, I have used it in the past to freeze and unfreeze applications. I have never been successful however in backing up and restoring program data. I'll scour the net some more looking for a solution before/if I do a reset. If I find anything I will post it in this thread.
Thanks for your help.
