Cannot connect ADAPT 300 properly to TomTom 5 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Please help
I re-insstalled TT5 on my MDA Compact/S100 after cold boot.
After pairing an adapt 300 BT receiver, I installed it in TT on Com5, like before
It worked like a charm before, but now I see only about 9 greyed-out satelites and TT is telling me "no useble GPS signal".
the longest I have waited for more then an hour but no change.
Re-installed the whole thing, restored a backup in which I had no problems. Been trying for days now
Still no useble signal
Installed TT5 on a Vario/Wizard, same problem.
Can the receiver be faulty?
Can anyone please help me?
UPDATE:
I also installed Navigon 5.
Program finds the receiver, but also cannot find a good signal.
Went back to the store, I will get a new receiver. It is probably faulty

Tom Tom 5 on XDA2

I have installed tomtom5 on my xda2. I find that if I use it for about 20mins ie: local journey it works fine. If I decide to use it on a journey of over approximately 30 miles or more I get problems like the maps fade from the screen and start displaying parts of the journey I have already passed. If I quit the application and restart it I often get error "No Maps Installed". I then Soft boot xda2 and all is fine again for a short period. Is this a common thing on the XDA2 or does any one have any idea. I am frustrated with this and feel like binning the unit. I would appreciate any suggestions, :? I am using the settings "Other Cable NMEA GPS" and Serial cable on Com1. ROM version 1.72.00WWE IMEI: 351938000522892
I have been using TomTOm for the past 3 months, all issue I had were resloved with the last tomtom update
perhaps u should try reinstalling
Thank you for your reply, I have reinstalled it about 6 times now but still the same. Regards

Tomtom connection problems.

Before anyone says anything, yes I have tried looking.....
I have a problem with TT5.21 where I can connect to the BT GPS several times but then all of a sudden TT won't connect again. The only way I can do it is to delete the pairing with the GPS reciever and re-pair it setting up the COM ports again. It will then work fine 3 or 4 more times and I have to do it again.
I know the GPS works fine as it works perfect on my Alpine (believe it or not).
Has anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I have this problem too, no set times or obvious reasons as to why tomtom loses gps, still appears in bluetooth device list, but tomtom cannot see it, only way to get tomtom to recognise the gps is to delete pairing and re-pair gps.
Eventually figured it out. When setting up the initial pairing (or was it com port), I cleared the use secure connection radio box and it seems to be fine now.
Thanks for your response though and I hope this works for you too.
Is it possible to use both TomTom (with a bluetooth GPS node) and a bluetooth headset at the same time?
I've managed to do it although that was on an old O2 ROM, not the new one.

Bluetooth GPS not connecting after ROM UPDATE I-Mate JAMin

Hi All,
I'm running the new Rom for a week now and i'm very happy with it.
Although I my Jamin has reset itself once or twice my SD card never dissappeard.
There's a new problem I'm having:
When I start TomTom 5.21 my GPS (Adapt) and activate my bluethoot GPS TomTom keeps telling me there's no GPS..
When I delete the partnership from the Bluetooth settings, then create a new partnership.. it says BT GPS wants to connect, and I have to enter the pin. After This my GPS is working again.. Untill I power of my GPS.
Anyone had the same experience.. or even better... the solution?
Thanks.
Hi , I'm running Copilot and noot had any issue. i no longer use TomTom due to their incompatability. It always seems you have to have an update with every new device with them.
Not very helpful I know but I would hazard a guess its due to TomTom and not your upgrade.
I have an adapt (ad-700) receiver and do not have any problem. I always start the gps device first and then tomtom (tomtom activates bluetooth by itself).
I also get the message "no device" but after 10 seconds or so it finds the gps mouse.
Thank you all. Tried reinstalling TomTom.. after some a couple of try's it worked finally. Thank you for the response.

No GPS Device

Hi
I have an XDA Exec which is only a few months old. I have used it with TomTom6 and a bluetooth GPS receiver without any problems. I haven't used it for a few weeks and I have been tryng to set it up for a trip but I keep seeing "No GPS Devive" on the screen.
Now you may be thinking that it's the receiver which is faulty as I did at first. I tried the receiver with another device and it's working fine.
I haven't changed or installed anything since it was last working so I'm at a total loss.
I have a bluetooth headset which is still working so the bluetooth is okay. I have even tried a hard reset and reinstalled TomTom.
Anyone any ideas please?
Andyfr
Hi,
You might try this:
http://franson.com/gpsgate/
I've had pretty good luck with it but I'm still learning about my Universal.
Good luck!
I would go to your Bluetooth manager page tap and hold on the GPS icon and select DELETE, next re-establish the bond/ pair between the device's and your application should start working again.
If you are unsure about setting up the device have a read through http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=50105 Which details setting up an Exec to work with the TomTom application - you should not need to use Fransons GPS Gate to get TomTom working, the utility from Franson is a great application when you find you have a need for it - Mike
