o2 xda mini s GPRS and GSM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

When setting up my device for the first time I wanted to use the GSM network (as I have free minutes/SMS on my tariff).
I selected Postpay and GSM when prompted, however the GPRS connected icon shows in notification bar. I do not want to use or have GPRS connected.
Please could you advise how I can connect to the GSM network.
Thanks

Dialed : orangeinternet
No modem at above number. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings.

I went into the orange shop and they said they do not have internet settings for the phone as they do not produce it themselves.
I do not know what i have done wrong or how to change my settings so that i can connect to the internet out of my usb cradle.
Thanks for any help given...

...?
anybody?
Have you checked with Orange that they have activated gprs on your sim? O2 do not allow internet connection over gprs with a payg sim card, all that is allowed is wap over gprs although it is possible to access the web over gsm.
Thank you ever so much i had Orange enable GPRS and now i can use the internet on my Pay as You Go simcard wherever i want! Thanks! Anyone have any idea of how much GPRS costs on Orange?

Diff b/w TMobile and Cingular GPRS

Hi,
Is there a difference b/w the two GPRS networks? I'm having a problem with detecting the TMobile network while if I try Cingulars network it works fine. Is there something that needs to be done on the phone specifically for TMobile like a registry setting or something?
Thanks,
Ho'okani
where you're from?
did you create a gprs/3g connection with the t-mobile credentials???
I'm in the US (Hawai'i) and the settings for TMobile GPRS are correct it's just that the phone will not detect the TMobile network and doesn't even know it is available. There is no 'G' in the top task bar as there normally would be if it detected the network. The regular phone service works fine but for some reason, the phone just won't detect the GPRS network.

Unlocked XDA Exec on T-mobile 3G network?

Hello people
I've just come into possession of an 02 branded HTC Universal, which has been unlocked.
Everything works fine except for 3G data/internet. The phone can find a 3G (UMTS) network, but it can't use it for any kind of data.
I have a web'n'walk (3G) tariff, and I've tested my SIM card in a T-mobile phone and 3G works fine. So tariff and SIM are fine.
The problem must be with the phone. T mobile say it's not their handset so they can't help - so I'm depending on you lot!
Are there some settings I need to change to make this work on Tmobile's network? There's GPRS settings, modem connection settings etc. Any of those could be the culprit. I've tried settnig up a modem connection with general.t-mobile.uk, without putting in any username, password or domain, and that doesn't work.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Sharif
yeah u need to input the settings
goto connections and add new modem connection and type in 'T-mobile Internet'
then click next and in the access point type in 'general.t-mobile.uk'
then the next page your on to the username password settings where use the following
username: t-mobile
password: one2one
Do you know the 3 uk settings?
I have the same problem but i'm now on the 3 network.
http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3600.html
use the program at the bottom of the page "network settings wizard" sure its not for the universal but it works. I used it to setup my three settings.

O2 XDA wifi

I have XDA orbit. I have wireless router at home.
I have enabled the wifi. However whenever i try to browse the internet- by default GPRS becomes active (which costs me). I have to manually disconnect it. But after few minutes , GPRS becomes active again. I have gone through manual and help section on my XDA many times but can’t figure it out.
Is there any way that my XDA defaults to wifi rather than GPRS.
Any help will be appreciated
settings->connections->connections->advanced->picknetwork and picking the item in the dropdown box which is not! my isp or whatever it's called on your device
will result in gprs not being used untill you change the dropdownbox again
but then will i be able to send MMS as MMS uses GPRS i believe
What I am doing is changing to GPRS each time I want to use GPRS and then back to my WiFi network. It prevents accidental charges.

SKScheMa script help pls

Hi,
I am looking to create a script similar to the
this tutorial or even the 'Connect to different GPRS providers (if you have "multisim" adapter)'
In my situation, i have a single Sim with 2 different APN's (GPRS Connections). By default it will use the 3G conenction but if its GSM then i want it to use the back up connection.
One is for EDGE/2.5G connections (when its roaming)
the other is for 3G connections.
I can set it manually in my 'Connections' settings but i'd love for it to check and adjust automatically according to the Not Roaming 3G or Roaming 2.5G
Can anyone please help?
thanks in advance!
edit: would a script that looks to see if GSM is active then select the matching connection?
