I've used the Registry Hack in order to have the GPRS connection always ON...whic is great on daily time.
However now, at home, while I want to use the WIFI connection, I've the feeling that WM5 is using the GPRS connection and not the WIFI one...as both of them are active, and when I start IE as exemple,...the system try to conenct againto GPRS.
How to define priorities between both? How to controk which connection s used?
Finally...I cannot really obtein the Disconnect from GPRS Button. I Have an Orange M3000 on WM5.
Thanks for your support

Hi!
Thanks to all of your help I have finally been able to config my XDAII to work as a modem and connect to GPRS network both through IR and USB!
But last night there was a problem with the network which admitted that GPRS was down for an indefinite amount of time... so I need to connect using my XDAII as a "normal" non GPRS phone to connect to an ISP...
Has anyone done it and can tell me how to change the setting or how to set up a new connection to use XDAII as a modem?
Thank you,
Chris
Hi
I want my XDAIIi to connect over GPRS and WiFi at the same time - I use the WifI connection to connect to my laptop so I can project the screen, and I use GPRS to connect to some demo systems.
I've done this sucessfully with the IPAQ 6300, but on the XDAIIi the Wireless Manager seems to let me connect GPRS or WiFi, but not both.
Is there any way round this?
Thanks
Hi is there anyway of switching GPRS Off wuithout turning the phone off?
I want to be ablt to use wireless at home however it constantly switches to GPRS - driving me mad. I have a 1gb allowance on my GPRS but i use that for my pushmail for office mails.
I would like to be able to surf at home usig WIFI, when doing this is there a setting (not connection manager) that can turn GPRS off when i am using WIFI?
If you set your WiFi connection as connected to the Internet instead of Work, and in the network adapters setting (settings, connections, network cards, network adapters tab) set that your network card connects to the internet, once you establish an internet connection with WiFi, it should kick your GPRS connection off. On my phone GPRS still tries to connect once in a while for some reason, but never does, since the WiFi internet connection just keeps kicking it off.

Click to collapse
rassah's method is more professional than mine and better perhaps. I'm lazy so I just go to connections button below on/off button and then tap off the GPRS via button that looks like a PDA with two arrows. If GPRS tries to reconnect there should be a popup if you have wifi on that allows you to cancel it's reconnection. This does not disable the phone.

thanks - i will try this - do you know if this will affect the dirct push mail?
Just thought this may help, found it on Modaco.. Works a treat, just toggles gprs data on and off... Very easy and works
Not sure how OK it is to post links to other forums but as it is free software I guess I should be OK...

superb application - especially usefull when roaming
Just what I needed, going overseas next month, I don't want to use any data while there.
Is there a way I can disable the GPRS on my HTC TyTN? I would like to use the WiFi I have at home sometimes and it just automatically use the 3G, GPRS setting...especially with Internet Explorer which is on the phone.
Any help is appreciated...thanks!
I'm having this problem too. Whenever Wifi and GPRS are both active, it always defaults to GPRS. I cannot get it to recognise the Wifi connection under any circumstances.
I have an Orange SPV M3100 (HTC Hermes) with Windows Mobile 6.
sorry for my english first. if you use the automatic set up connection GPRS for your operator ; the wifi doesn't work.
You must do a hard reset and configure the GPRS connection manual.
Then the wifi works.
I've done this. I had to input my operators settings when I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6. It still doesn't work.
I was busy on my device (Windows Messenger Live) and I thought it has a connection to to my wireless router. NOT
I saw at the GPRS monitor it had a connection through the GPRS.
Does somebody know a solution?
try pressing and holding the end call key, that should disconnect your data connection.
Search for MoDaCo and NoData on here. It's an application that disables data connections, works for both GSM and CDMA.
yup noData works great for me, definately the tool to use to disable GPRS connections. Using it on a WM6 TyTN
