My voicemail-emails have attached GSM compressed wav files.
Of course that's good because uncompressed files would be much too large, but how can I playback those files?
Can I somehow download additional wav codecs for the pocketpc or is there a good player which can do it?
You only get those MP3 file players and nothing else...
I've tried BetaPlayer (pretty good divx player) which supports wav files, and I get the message "Audio Codec not found".
Problem solved
I just noticed that the WAV file was added to my pocket outlook notes since I put it in the My documents folder.
It can be played as an outlook note.
However, strange that pocket windows media player and other players don't support it.
windows media player dont support any non ms format apart from mp3
and this goes for both audio and video
dont know the format so i cant help i would prob search around for as many players i could using google looking for that feature if i were you
otherwise i suppose you can find a converter for the pc wihtout too much problems
I just figured out how to change the Media Player, wich is used by Voice Command to start Media Files: just assign another Media Player (like TCPMP) wich .asx files and Voice Command uses this player! You just need to actualize the Media Libray with the Media Player abd can use every player you want (if it can open .asx files. The GSPlayer can not. But i think i will change this...

Hi all,
Anyone has come across an issue that WM6 Media Player can't play certain .wav files? How can fix this bug (if it is a bug)?. I have an answering service and they send my messages to my phone by email in .wav file and I can't open it with WM6 Media player error:Unrecognized file type. Any suggestions?
Thanx,
Genek
No one really has a clue?
Have you pulled the files from the phone and tried to play them on the computer?
Remember, .wav is just a 'container' for a sound file, the actual encoding could be just about anything (PCM, MP3, MPEG2 Audio, etc).
WM6 and .WAV
.WAV is not a native windows file. For this reason you are unable to play them on and WM PPC. You need to download either a player that will decode WAV or install a Codec to play .WAV files. .WMA is the default windows audio file.
Pain I know - but I think it has something to do with MS not wanting to pay for licensing for .wav playback.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong =)

I'm struggling with streaming podcasts with my HD2. When I click on a link such as a .mp3, I'm directed to download the entire file before listening. I would like to have the link open the music player WMP or TCMP for streaming. The default program is to open WMP, which will not stream .mp3 as it is currently set up. I'm thinking the only way might be to set the default audio program for .mp3 or whatever to TCMP wich will then stream the audio.
