To answer my own question, yes it seems like the pairing of both the keyboard and mouse goes much smoother. I didn't need to reset the mouse connection while it was searching for the device, it just connected. Only problem I had was that the mouse gets a little laggy when using with a BT keyboard at the same time. This was in enhanced mode, not sure if safe mode solves the problem.

This is a tip about pairing the Stowaway Travel Mouse with JASJAR through Bluetooth.
I bought the Stowaway Mouse, and like many others, I could not get the mouse to pair, even though I downloaded the latest driver specifically for HTC Universal (= JASJAR). The setup screen would go from "Scanning for mouse..." to "Initializing connection..." back to "Scanning for mouse..." and on and on until it reports connection failure. I tried multiple times with multiple soft resets, to no avail.
I read online that someone reported he was able to pair after a hard-reset. I didn't do that, because I already have a lot of customization on my unit. I was on the verge of giving up and returning the mouse.
Then something happens by accident. In discoverable mode (after pressing the Discoverable button on the mouse and click "Connect" on the setup screen), while the screen says "Initializing connection...", I pressed the "Discoverable" button again by chance, only to find that it caused the screen to change to "Verifying connection..." and a red square appears on the screen for me to click, just like what the user manual says. After clicking the red square, the mouse started working.
I tried pairing the mouse again, using the same procedure. It paired successfully for the second time, and the third time. So this procedure is re-producible. I did notice there is an optimal timing when you should press that Discoverable button again to make it pair.
I also have the Stowaway bluetooth keyboard working at the same time. I have to say that, with both a mouse and a keyboard, it makes Jasjar a lot more productive.
Another thing I noticed but am not 100% sure, is that by turning off the "Power Efficient Mode" for both the keyboard and the mouse, their bluetooth connections seem more reliable.
Arrow?
Can you see the Arrow on the screen of Jasjar when move the Stowaway Mouse?
Thank
since i bought JasJar i was using this powerful mouse... i solved the problem by paring the mouse than Uncheck HID profile than delete the whole mouse from Bluetooth list.... then try to connect throwgh the Software that came with the mouse .... it will works YaaaaaY

Yes, the cursor arrow appears whenever the mouse is connected. If the mouse goes into standby, the cursor will disappear. So whenever you see the cursor on the screen, that means the mouse is ready to use.

Maybe I should give it another try. I had also gotten the mouse to work only when I frantically reset the discoverable mode over and over again during pairing. Getting the keyboard and mouse to work at the same time drove me nuts, I was only able to do it once. I had about given up on this, can you advise what you think the timing is for resetting the mouse during pairing?

I would say, wait about 1 second after the screen changes from "Scanning for mouse" to "Initializing connection", then press the Discoverable button again. The timing is not that strict. I believe you can get it working within two or three tries. You can pair the keyboard before or after pairing the mouse. Overall, the mouse connection seems to be less stable than the keyboard connection.
I also noticed that, after you power off Jasjar and the mouse, it is much better to turn on Jasjar first, and when Jasjar has fully woken up, then turn on the mouse. It is easier to restore the mouse connection this way (without re-pairing).
Oh my god, somehow this all worked. I'm using the mouse in safe mode, which is a pain in the arse sometimes when it leaves the mouse icon on the screen, but it's working, for now.
Big big thanks for the tips and inspiration to try this again!
I have a generic bluetooth mouse (www.omiz.net) which pairs and works perfectly fine with my EXEC, only thing is the cursor is not shown i can click around in Word Mobile etc and even scroll... but pretty pointless without a cursor.
I tried using it with the Stowaway BT mouse driver, no luck in pairing.
Unfortunately - I have only been able to get a generic driver for my manhattan generic mouse at http://cabfiles.net but it only works on WM2003SE and not WM5 - maybe we can convinec george to develop a WM5 driver .... :?
in case anyone has given up on this, it looks like the pairing issues might be solved in version 4.4: http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=17&ModelID=295

Does someone knows if it is possible to make this driver to work/pair with MS BT mouse?
Hi,
I got a Palm Bluetooth wireless keyboard for Christmas but I can't get it working with my T-Mobile Ameo.
I have installed the keyboard drivers (http://www.palm.com/us/support/accessories/btwirelesskeyboard.html) and get a "wireless keyboard" icon in Programs. But when I click it and tick "Enable keyboard" the Ameo just hangs. The only thing I can do is take the battery out to reset it.
Anyone else found this? or fixed this?
The keyboard won't work via the normal Bluetooth pairing interface either.
Thanks,
Tom
Still no luck
I still haven't managed to get this Bluetooth keyboard working. Just thought I'd post some more details in case anyone was interested:
* Keyboard: Palm Wireless Keyboard (3245WW): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palm-Wirele...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1199552934&sr=1-4
* Palm Keyboard software installed on Ameo: v1.1.0.2.
* Ameo OS: Windows Mobile 5.0.
Anyone know of a bluetooth keyboard that does work with the Ameo?
Replacement
I bought a replacement keyboard - It is the "Freedom Universal Keyboard" which I can report works ok with the Ameo. See http://www.tomfotherby.com/blog/ind...board-dec2007-christmas-present-from-grandpa/ for comments and installation instructions.
I ebayed the keyboard that didn't work (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270203021878).
I thought I'd post an update about the "Freedom Universal Keyboard" keyboard now I've been using it for a while with my Ameo. I no longer recommend it! There are 3 problems with it:
1) I have to pair it every time I turn my Ameo on and pairing is flaky (average of 10 minutes faffing around just to get a working connection). Pairing rarely works first time. You have to turn off other bluetooth devices. Sometimes I have to restart my Ameo multiple times. You get the picture.
2) You can't hold down shift to select text (vital for copy&paste).
3) The Home and End keys don't work (vital if you ever write long sentences).
Anyone found a good bluetooth keyboard yet?
i use the thinkoutside/igo bluetooth keyboard and mouse, i highly recommend them!!
the links below are to the direct website, but you can do a web search and find them much cheaper elsewhere.
the mouse
the keyboard
hope this works better for you, i have no complaints, enjoy!!
hi there
I use a stowaway slim bluetooth keyboard for years now.
It worked nicely on my i780 and on all devices before.
but on the X1, it reacts slowly. biggest problem is that when i type a word, it recognizes the space bar key just a little too late, so instead of
"bob goes to school" i get something like "bobg oest os chool"...
especially if i type quick.
it works much better with the built in HID driver, but then i lose the nice layout. maybe somebody has built an AEKMap file for the stowaway slim?
somebody has an idea?
thanks
Bernhard
It's possible to use the hardware keyboard of xperia as a bluetooth keyboard (i.e for ps3)?
Like as bt mouse on diamond.

I'm sure it's possible - it's all pretty standard these days. Of course you would need the right dlls, but then again, the bluetooth fold up keyboard from stowaway (I still have one) didn't need dlls @ all - PNP it was!
Have you tried connecting a HW keyboard?
(p.s. think there was some discussion in Rapheal/Kaiser on this btw)
Have any1 tried it with a PS3?
Would love to have this too! Paid an arm and a leg for the phone, would be glad if it can help me not buy another computer hardware around the house!
I search a lot, but don't find anything.
It should use HID protocol for work, but it doesn't seems exist anything...
However as default don't work with ps3 or pc.
Would be nice I would certainly use it cause I need this actually on my ps3
Hi all
I'm getting the HD2 next week
I have been using my Thinkoutside BT keyboard and BT mouse with earlier phones (Atom). However they do not work with my current phone (HD).
Can someone tell me whether the keyboard and mouse will work with the HD2? If so, how is it done.
Thanks

So, we cannot connect bluetooth mouse on HD2? Any solution?!
Teksoft are working on modifying their BT stack to work with Broadcom. When they get it working you will be able to fully use your mouse and keyboard with both the HD and HD2.
Paul.
That's good news! Hope will release soon..
Hi
I refer to your post of July 2006 re bt mouse working on HD2. Is there any update on this? In case any link is available, please do let me know.
Cheers
Hi again. Sorry, that should read: post of December 15th, (not July 2006!!).
hi
I look also for a solution, to use my bluetooth mouse with my hd2, is it posible to use another bluetooth stack with the hd2
BT keyboard and mouse for HD2
Hi all
Any update on Teksoft working on the Broadcom BT stack to enable use of Thinkoutside BT keyboard and mouse with Leo?
Cheers
Can we work togheter to get this?
I think it would be really great if we can add keyboard and mouse support to hd2 a day.
Think about use internet through an amazing little pc! Maybe hd2 could become the smallest netbook on the market!
What can we try?
I am really impatient it finds a resolution.
thinking about wireless I had in mind to use BT.
What if we look for WiFi? Or USB as host?
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=products&platform=1&pid=5
yes it could be great but the problem is that someone explained that bluetooth driver is not fully compatible with mouses... so if I understood well keyboard can be used but mouse no!
From what I remember my BT mouse worked fine with my HD2 but I need to test that again to be sure.

Hi,
I can confirm that my stowaway (or DELL) bluetooth keyboard works with the HD2, but I have not found a driver for the German keyboard layout. Any ideas?

I think about some registry tweak. Try to look at it also on the forum.
Sometimes when you flash WWE roms on a GER/ITA/... keyboard there can be keyboard layout problems. Some time ago I found the how to map the right keyboard here on xda.
Nice
