I've got the battery cover from an XDAII in a jiffy bag that I've had ready to post to since someone was going to buy it a few months ago. Anyway they never did and niether did the next person who said they were interested.
So if anyone out there has lost / damaged their battery cover or thinks they might do so in the future I will post it to them free (in the UK).
It's in good condition no noticable damage as far as I can remember.
If you want it post a reply to this and then PM me your address.
It's amazing no one is interested. When I lost my back cover it took me ages to find a new one. Then I sold my XDAII and then found the original cover.
Ok, I'll post it anywhere in the world for FREE!
I don't want to have to throw it away :-(
Someone must want it.......
If it's still available......
I will take it off your hands
I know it's my first post but I have recently taken ownership of my first pda with noticeable damage to the back cover. On joining this excellent forum I couldn't help but notice your thread and so if it's still available I know a good home.
PM sent.
Rgds,

hello all! I'm new to the site, so I thought seen as this is my first thread I would say hello etc.. *waves*.. I got my XDA mini s last week and with some help from this place have it working nicely (on the stock rom might I add, as it appears to be the latest from O2..).
However, I noticed that after leaving it under my PC moniter it had effected the colouring of the screen (as a magnet would), it took me about 5mins to realise that the case that comes with the XDA from O2 has two magnets in it to hold the flap down when the case is closed. The only thing I am not sure off is how this will effect my XDA? I was never one to trust companies to think before they act so producing a case that would damage the product it is designed for does not stretch my belief, but I'm honestly unsure of how it would effect things... Thoughts on the subject?
On a slightly related note (and something I asked in another thread, but figured I would put it here also due to it being related)..
What kind of screen protector do people recommend? What about a link to a decent case too? Do you guys keep your wizards in a case or just keep it hanging around in your pockets? Worried about damaging the thing but getting it out of the case to answer a call is a tad annoying..
Thanks for any help and advice
*waves more*
I decided to just buy a new case ! This one will make it easier to use too, so all is well once more..
So which one did you decide on? Interested for my own XDA Mini S. Cheers.
I went with the PDAir book type leather case (review: http://www.onppc.com/forum/article_read.asp?id=12) which are on sale on ebay for £14.49 with free shipping.. it is however coming from hongkong which could mean a fake :\.. we shall see ! To buy them new from PDAir.com is around the same price but you have to pay for shipping, which I thought would probably fairly high, so I decided to chance it with ebay..
The review plus some feedback of another forum member in another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=29227) sold the case for me.. Ill post a review when i get it in a week or so.
For me the issue with the case I had (the O2 default case) was the hugely powerful magnets in it and the fact that it was a slip out (and one that was not easy to slip the phone out off) which would take me 5mins to get the damn thing out to answer a call..
I also have a PDAir case (flip style rather than book), which I bought direct from PDAir. Shipping from Hong Kong was quite fast; IIRC, it took only 3 days to get to the US. Total cost including shipping was $28.

First, sorry to hear about your device. Bummer. I keep it in my back pocket sometimes and I hope I never forget to take it out.
If you're able to keep it, please do donate it for development. Midget_1990 is the one you want to make arrangements with if you don't mind donating it to the cause. This will help us start earlier than previously. Once we get Midget_1990 his phone we can send it to another developer I have in mind. Thanks for the post and offering to help. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
insurers arent open today (how lazy) and as i have no phone or digital camera cant post pics its right accross the screen top to bottom. if i can hold on to it or as much as possible might just send in the main device minus battery keyboard etc i will try posting whats available to Midget_1990. will let you guys know tomorrow assuming i get it sorted and hope to get it back soon ........

if you're using the t-mob insurance they'll want the other one back, and make sure if you get it swapped in t-mob store that you take in everything that came with it, to send back, otherwise they'll charge you full retail price! I've found it best to take the unit and new battery from the offered box and leave everything as is.. this from exchanging 3 universals through that scheme..
They definitely will not send you a new battery and yes you will be charged for anything you don;t return.
I had a nightmare year last year with my Universal - without being aware when I knocked it the screen cracked three times. Each time Orange replaced but I life in fear of my Advantage bought from a 3rd party along with a Vodafone contract (T-Mobile doesn't exist around here) which is only on the house insurance.
So please don't post it this subject you're making me nervous!

Have you tried approaching one of the mobile phone insurers for your own contract. Phonesafe thru T-mobile charge £8.99 pcm - I wonder if they would provide a policy to you direct. Must be worth trying because your house policy excess may be quite high?
A quick google shows lots of mobile phone insurers - see for example: Mobile Phone Insurer reviews
Maybe then you can read this thread without squirming!

I am on my fourth Ameo (1st one GPS stopped), the following ones have all been faulty replacements (until my most recent one, which works).
The point is that when I did the first exchange it was in a T-mobile store and I needed it urgently. The GPS had just stopped working but I did not have the box with me. I asked them to do an exchange on the undertaking that I would bring the box into the store the following week to swap it over. However, when I went in the following week, they said they had sent the other box (i.e. the box from the exchanged one) away and didn't need my box.
The other exchanges have all been through T-mobile's call centre - they send out (by courier) a new handset (not including keyboard, battery, screen protector etc) and take the old one away at the same time. It worked quite well - they given you a morning or afternoon slot, which the courier seemed to stick to. If you don't hand over your handset, they don't hand over the new one!!!
well alll i managed was an extra styli, and replaced my keyboard/case and phone so there all shiney but no extra. damn but i tried my best sorry guys, maybe i can 'lose' it next time and theyl never know....
Just installed pocket hack master and it shows stable @ 728 Mhz my old one couldnt even run stable at 663 only at 624 i know many havent being able to overclock but now i can
I dont know how I lost it but the little rubber piece on the battery cover next to the camera is gone.

My grommit fell out and got lost when I first got the phone but the local Softbank shop here in Kyoto were lovely; they ordered a new one and had it delivered it to my home address at no charge whatsoever. (Did I mention that the salesgirl was cute, too?) Perfect service! Kudos to you Softbank (And the lovely salesgirl).
OK I GIVE UP.... I TOOK IT APART LAST NIGHT AND WAS UP GOOD PART OF TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK..
Before i go to ebay.. ill post it here...
T Mobile Wing for sale... everything but the keyboard works..
it well taken care of... no scratches had a hard cover on it since day one....
ill leave the pricing up to you guys but i just put in a new screen that is working so im looking for at least that money back?
lets start with 60 dollars..
I also have an 8525 completely taken apart but was working when i dismantled it.. i though the screen from it would work on my wing when i broke it... how much you want to give me for it?
ill buy another wing or wait for the android but im thru with this wing!
i'd try ebay to sell
its kind of against the rules to advertise for sales here, even though we sometimes let senior members do it. You'll get better responses on ebay anyway
how muc do u want for the 8525 does it include the scren and do you take paypal
Like many others, I am looking to replace my nexus one back plate or battery door. Whatever they want to call it.
The previous thread was closed for some unknown reason. Decided to start another.
Based on my many calls and those calls from others - LG will not sell these to anyone in the US or even resellers. Those that are getting them have some other inside or foreign connection it seems.
There was a link in the thread to trait-tech.com that had dummy phones. I tried working with them to get details about them - if they come apart, are they real phone cases without internals, etc. The people I was routed to were completely useless. I had no faith in anything they told me, if anyone has any experience with the dummy phones, please let us know. They didn't take visa or mastercard, but if you talk with them, you can get them to take paypal - I decided not to chance 30+ for a dummy phone...
I have found the back side available from a shop in Belgium, but they only ship to Belgium and the Netherlands, it was about 50 E, I have relatives looking into getting one for me...
I am keeping this thread around to help others find a reliable source for the back plates. (It was stupid to close the last one IMHO as it was providing useful information)

I have also been looking into this issue and from all the information i have gone through that just like n4 bumpers, wireless charger and the phone itself, the backing will be available as soon as the can get enough of the full devices made to hold people off for awhile, but all the manufacturing is currently tied up in as the is where the money is. Will keep looking and post any positive results i find on this thread. Thank you for opening it.

http://www.cellphonerepairshop.com/lg-e960-parts-lg-nexus-4/
I've posted this in the general section under nexus 4 replacement parts. They have a pretty good selection of parts so far. The part you're looking for is the last one (battery door cover).
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
This Monday I dropped my new Nexus 4 on a concrete garage floor from maybe 30cm / 1 feet (I was sure this was going to happen sooner or later, so I had ordered a hard cover a few days before - just not soon enough). The back cover glass cracked. After reading this thread I feared it would take a while to get it replaced. I called LG Finland's support phone. They redirected me to "spare parts service", who said they have back covers in stock in their central European warehouse in the Netherlands. I picked up the new cover today and managed to replace the broken one with it. The cost was 41eur for the cover + 6eur for postage (around $62). I don't have enough posts to post links, but there are few pics from replacing the cover at imgur.com/a/RMPlb.
