8525 stops responding for 20 seconds

Every so often, I will make a call and either try to end the call, or try to enter numbers in, and nothing will happen. Changing the volume doesn't work either. No matter how many times I press the end key, nothing happens.
Then, about 20 seconds later,l the phone will respond, and the call will end.
Do I need to do a warrany exchange?

Oh my god Harlen, I'm having the EXACT same issues. It either won't end the call, or I cant pick up a call. Also sometimes I cant pick up a call waiting call, and sometimes when the call finally ends I get a loud busy signal. Maybe its a problem specific to owners in CT

I thought it was specific to the new ATT Rom that I flashed to last week, so I flashed yesterday to Black 3.0.1, and it does the same thing.

Hmmm. I thought it was the new ROM too. What programs do you have installed. Maybe we can find our common problem app.

All we have in common is bandswitch... hmmm. I dont know what to say. All I know is if these issues keep up, I'm headed for another hard reset.

What programs are you running? Always looking for new things to run.
I will try uninstalling BandSwitch to see if that does anything.
What ROM are you using now?

Tired of the Wizard losing calls...

I've been losing many calls with my Wizard. The callers tell me that my phone rings and rings but I do not answer. I have voicemail disabled. I don't know if I'm losing SMS also but I haven't noticed it yet.
Some strange things that happened to me:
1) I was playing Final burn and noticed the classic slow downs that you see when you're about to receive an SMS or when your phone is ringing, but the phone did not ring. I kept playing and when I got home my father told me he called me many times, and I am sure it was during the time I was playing. It seems the phone was receiving the call but for some reason it did not ring.
2) I was near some speakers and heard the classic interference buzzing noise you hear when you're about to receive a call or SMS, it was constant, but the phone did not ring. I then took the phone and placed it up the speakers to make sure it was my phone and sure it was because the noise increased. I then turned the phone on and after two seconds it started ringing. I answered and the caller told me the phone rang many times before I answered.
This seems to be a power saving issue... I'm using IPL 3.08, SPL 3.08, GSM 2.47.11, OS 2.18.7.8 (spanish). Provider is Telecom Personal here in Argentina.
It is very annoying to come somewhere and hear "Hey I called you and you did not answer!!!" or worst yet, "Hey I called you many times during the day and you did not answer!!!"
It is a problem on the phone for sure because the provider does not say my phone isn't available, it just rings and rings.
Does anybody know what can I try to solve this? It is very annoying!!

Try updating your radio rom. I had the same problem with an older Radio rom like 2.07 or something then changed it to the latest one for my country (UK) and it works fine now. If you still get problems flash back to the orginal rom designed for your device.

Its common for anyone with a Burned ROM.
there are many threads on it. mainly Cingular having issues, but I guess your provider can have them too.

Today, a friend of mine called me home and said "Hey I'm calling you to your cellphone and you don't answer!". I told him "Hmm please call me right now". He put the speakerphone and I heard through the land line that the phone was calling, but my phone did not ring. I turned it on and voila... it started ringing and I could accept the call. THIS IS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!
Any clues, anyone??????? Should I try WM6? I don't want to reinstall my programs!! And there's no spanish version of WM6!! I'd hate to do that!!
Maybe I can try with a lower version of the radio??

Unless I'm missing something here, I think that's generally the way it works -- your phone has to be ON before it will ring.

I'm pretty sure there is a spanish WM6 ROM floating around...in the WM thread

I think what he meant by 'turn it on', is waking-up the phone from suspend/sleep mode. Read his first post, regarding the speaker-thing.
Anyway, I'm not sure about spanish ROM, but isn't it the most stable Radio is 2.19? I have read somewhere, that some of these newer version of radio has this problem.

least troublesome among the radio's is "2.19", so i suggest download it and test it out

Im using 2.25 radio which was included in wizard love. It works perfectly that i know of anyway i used to get calls that would ring for 2 rings then nothing and people said they called but no reply so i upgraded my radio rom and it was fine. Make sure you have a good signal aswell because if you only have one bar sometimes its not good enough to recieve a call.

With "turn it on" yes, I meant pressing the power button to wake up the phone. Of course I did not meant "turn it on" from a total off state. I'd have to wait for it to boot if I do that... and it takes around a minute so the call would be lost anyway
I'll try 2.19 with the hope it will solve it... will post the results after a few days...

I checked the FTP and noticed that there are two radio versions for 2.19: UK and NL. What's the difference between them? The size difference is big... 2.7mb vs 2.2mb. Telecom Personal works on 850/1900 so which one should I try?

I've noticed that i dont get any calls when the gprs connection is alive and transferring data (check email/web etc.)... anyone else confirm this?

I don't use GPRS... I lose calls without using it.
I installed 2.19UK two days ago. I will test it for a few days to see if this version loses calls as well...

Well, after two weeks of testing, I am glad to say that I have had no reports of unanswered calls so I think my phone will live the rest of its life with 2.19UK.

Incoming calls through to voicemail

For some reason incoming calls have started being transferred to voicemail, as if the phone were off. I have full network coverage/bars though, so not sure what the problem is. Could it be a malfunction in the calls divert feature? When I try to check settings it says not possible.

When does it happen? When the phone is on standby power? or even when you have the phone's screen on? Try going to start>settings>power>advanced
untick the boxes. Sounds like You might have sleep of death issues

Actually, I had that problem for quite some time... I found that if I moved into a different area, sometimes as little as 1 meter, I was able to change/check the settings... Sorry, my problem was the inability to check the settings and getting an error message....
Once you are able, you may want to see if you inadvertently set the phone to forward your calls... Don't think you would forget something like that, but I've done it on more than one occassion... I wonder if that *73 turns off call forwarding like on landlines... I think I'll have to give that a try...
EDIT: Nope that doesn't work...

Ok, this is very weird. Phone was behaving like that all the time, regardless of standby, screen on off etc.
This morning I try it again and it works, and I can now get into the network services settings to check on call forwarding, and nothing is unusual there, i.e. it's not been set to always forward.
So now it seems to be working again... But I'm sure the problem's not been solved since I didn't do anything. Any idea what could be causing this. Nothing to do with my location either cause it's worked and hasn't in the same locations.

XV6900 Texting Problem

I just bought my xv6900 2 days ago and i noticed that each time my phone goes idle as it goes to sleep and when someone text messages me i dont get a notification until i turn on the phone again with the button on top of the phone. and also sometimes i dont receive a call and when i next turn back on my phone it says missed call..
does anyone perhaps have the same problem or know whats wrong with my phone?

I have had the same problem and can't figure it out. I've done a hard reset and that fixes it for a bit, but no long term solution.

i have yet to install any other apps that didnt come with the phone. and i read that forum link u gave me, it doesnt seem to be my battery because i know my battery was at 80% when this happend. its such a nice phone but this really pisses me off. wish there was a solution.

I am having the same issue. I called verzion and they know nothing about it. Everyone who has this please call. I really like this phone but if it doesnt work like a phone its useless.

I've seen same problem on a Sprint Touch so it's not specific to Verizon.
I had 2 Sprint Touch phones side by side and one would not wake up from suspend for an incoming text or phone call. The second Touch worked properly and they had the exact same configuration. No clue why some of the HTC Vogue's have this issue and others don't.
I would call Verizon and ask for a swap if they ignore your problem.

Well I did a hard reset and it worked great for few days! Now back to normal.. looks like it is going back to verizon. Not sure what to get though.

Got the same problem but some days it works fine and some days it doesnt. I througth i had to much stuff saved or downloaded on the phone but when i removed programs that i downloaded that i never used it didnt fix anything so im puzzled like everyone else here.

I have had mine for several months now, i just had to do a hard reset recently and my phone has done the same exact thing ever since. I thought maybe it was a problem with polling. I did notice this time I hard reset, verizon did not have me set my A key, instead they changed something on their side and had me do a 228 reprogram. So i wonder if something is being changed via this new method ( the guy told me he just figured out he could do it this way and not require me to set my akey ).

Answering Problem

Well i search the forums but i see nothing so i'm making this post. Well i installed today Cookies Home tab and modified the register with the better camera qualty and other then that i didn't do nothing to it. But when i get a phone call and i answer it disconnects call after 1sec or it dosn't even answer. Any of ya had some problmes like this and maybe some tips how i could fix it.
It even declines calls and shows them as missed.

K made an hard resett and it seems it works now.
