chinese input writing system

Hi there am using HTC 7501 looking for a software that can input Chinese words
using stroke method (writing) am not familair with the pinyin system
tks
i personally am using the CE-Star app.
It works pretty well as you can use the stylus for brush strokes or via pinyin
this is my first post and not sure about the linking etiquette, but you can goggle for it easy enough
hope that helps
Hi there, eddiepbauer, thanks for your reply,I have been told about CE Star, but
from a posting in a forum, there was this problem that the input frame for Pen-power is too small and the text is tiny,do you have the same problem???
btw which version of CE Star you are using??
tks
sogou chinese input
sogou sip.. chinese input is the best chinese input nowadays.. FREE, easy to use, fast.. and also support to all smartphone include WM5 , WM6... and symbian all version. if you already have CE star... u don't need to uninstall it.. it can also work together.
let's have a try to http://shouji.sogou.com/ and choose your mobile operating system
the latest update is 2009-08-17
Hi there elvia thanks for the info, will give it a try and will let you know the
result
For Chinese suport, Personally, CEstar is not a good option. What you need are just FONT and INPUT.
Try to find this if you can read Chinese. INPUT

See how they use Michy's ROM for Chinese.

Hi there wadeshi, may I know what type of input you are using??
I am basically looking for a pen-input (writing) to use with my dictionary
I am not familair with pin yin system
well, now that you mention it and I went back to check, the pen power sip IS rather small.
it's irrelevant tho. I don't know how others use it, but for me, I could draw anywhere on the screen and it works fine. the only time i use the input area is when i "spell" a character incorrectly or if there are similar looking characters and it gives a list of chars to choose from.
as for text size... it's rather small on the 92dpi resolution, but i'm able to read it and don't need to adjust text size
/shrugs
the best way is to simply try it for yourself, as far as i know there aren't any crash issues involving this program

70 Characters Problem

Hello, I have installed ONYX ULTIMATE 4.6 with EzInput 1.5 Keyboard and greek characters, but when I try to write a SMS it allows me only 70 characters per message, while the default is 160. Is there a way, through registry, for example, or by another program, to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance!!!!!
Dont worry, Manufacturing default.
Only in english than it will be 160 charactors.
Even when I type in Chinese, it is 70 charactors too.
If you mix both english and chinese, it will be 70 charactors too.
The best way is to use english completely, so you get 160 charactors.
Thanks Jeremy again for your reply. It is a little bit difficult to write in english since I used to write in Greek. I read in some forums that there is a way through registry that solves that problem, like change the unicode for some letters, or something like that, kinda wired since each letter has its own code. Anyway, if anyone find something please post.

I am not too sure.
You might want to check this out:
http://www.google.com.sg/search?cli...+mobile+hack&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
isnt the problem with chinese and greek that their characters are not in unicode (or some standard characterset) and that they have to switch to another (bigger) character set 16byte per char instead of 8
Yeah Yeah.
But I really have to applaud those developers which is able to make it to 160/sms.

simplify chinese hd2

hi, i wld like to install simplify chinese input and ffont. tried some .not working veri gd. anyone has ant that can intro ?
i have tried zta4, sunglobe , ce star . nt working welll . anyone can help ? thanks
I am using QQ Pinyin Input, http://mobile.qq.com/py/ which currently in beta.
If you are not keen in beta app, try this http://shouji.sogou.com/
Although HD2 is not listed in the list of supported device, it worked for me with QQ Pinyin Input. I did not try the one from sogou.com as I was looking for both Simplified and Traditional Chinese input which QQ Pinyin Input serves my need.

Hi,
thanks for ur suggestion. May I check with u does this input disable the contact suggestion when u compose a sms ? I have tried others input before and although can type chinese, the contact suggestion function is gone. The QQ pinyin input u used includes chinese font to view alsoz ? thanks !
Here are the screenshots of QQ Pinyin Input on my HD2.

Sorry, I don't understand what you meant by "contact suggestion". Is it "predictive input" that you are referring to ?
I believe QQ Pinyin input did put a font on my HD2 during installation.

hi thats right . its the predictive input . previously, i have problem with zta4. after installed, when i want to sms, the function in which it will suggest names will be disabled. example, i want send to john, i just type jo then the name will appear . zta4 seems to disable that . otherwise its perfect. do u have this issue with QQ ?
Ok, I did a bit of digging around the web to find out what "contact suggestion" is about. I think I know enough to answer your question.
HTC Messaging app which has silhouette of a person on the right-hand side, which, when touched, will bring you into the contacts list selection tab.
What I am trying to say is that the messaging app has been designed so, therefore I don't think any IME is able to modify that field into one with a pull-down list with multi-selection capability.
You should therefore look for an alternative messaging app that can support "contact suggestion list" in the recipient field instead of another IME.
pool,
I need chinese input as well. I tried CE star which worked perfectly on my HD but on the HD2 the keyboard never shows up.
I just downloaded QQ and it works fine for chinese input but it does disable the predictive contact lookup display. If you type someones name and hit enter it will find that person and add their number to the message. But it does not give a list to chose from.
If you want predictive lookuo you have to press the person icon next to the "To:" field and enter the name in the contact search field. it is a little extra work but it is effective.
There is probably a registry edit to reactivate the contact lookup in SMS. I might search for that.
If you find someting better let me know.
check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700311
hope will help all the problems
solved
Problem solved,
I uninstalled CE Star and noticed that when I would enter a contact name in sms or email the qwerty keyboard would stay on t9. When I switched off the t9 I would get the list of contacts dropping down matching the typed characters.
I uninstalled qq and reinstalled qq and CE star and now when I touch the to: box to enter text the keyboard automatically switches from t9 to abc and the contacts drop down aas I enter text. Now I can also use swipe to enter contact names and get the contacts to drop down.
I am happy now.
hi, was abit laggyy in reply. sorry. anyway, uwhat i did was to install QQ to type. my phone sonehow still unable display chinese, so i then installed sunglobe.
i too get the contact lost missing error when i type sms. my workaround was to exit and enter sms again. then the list appear. but seeing then u guys seems to find a perfect solution, i might follow ur way as well

Forget about QQ Pinyin, forget about sunglobe, I used them all and wasn't impressed by them.
Instead, back up your data, hard reset, and try THIS solution made by geniuses called Joseng and dioxda2 here on xda.

Why don't you PM the senior members that I mentioned above.
They're good people, and pretty sure they'll help you out if they could.
Would you try this ROM, it's in simplified Chinese, see if you like it ? Read the instructions and every info before you flash. Flash at your own risk.

[Q] Phone Key (T9) Keypad functions - how to order Words?

Hi all,
I'm using the Phone Pad, HTC default, Keyboard to type SMS, Mails, Searches etc, cuz i can't handle the qwertz (german) or the simple qwertz key pads. They suck to type SMS (for me)
All works fine (okay, adding the mouth of the smiley ) or ( is a little complicated but manageable).
But... there is a very unlogical order of the different T9 Words. My old Sony Ericsson ordered the words by how often i used them.
I don't need exactly this feature, but to order the words by my own would be nice.
the only accessible workaround is, that i have to add the words manually (then they exists twice).
Then they are the first words the phone suggests me. but this isn't very nice.
do you know some tips to help me with my problem?
how do you handle the sms typing stuff? do you all bought a extra keyboard app in the market??
kind regards
heady2k
I've started using Swiftkey as it does actually learn the words you type. It works well. I personally found it better the default keyboard and better than the much raved about Swype .
I can't post a link but you can find it on app brain.
is it free?
can u modify the words order?

Yes it is free. It learns the words you use most so you shouldn't need to manually edit the word order. Try it and see if it is better for you.

Everything is wokring fine on the phone except one thing. which is not problematic actually, it simply doesn't exist
THis problem is the Keyboard input language, Greek, Disappeared! There is no more greek language on the phone keyboard, i tried getting external keyboards (like MultiLing Keyboard) but when i send SMS in greek, the recipient instead of getting greek characters he gets ???'s (questionmarks).
