Anyone managed to get this running on a customised cutdown version of the O2 ROM?
I've managed to extract the hotspots files, put them into the correct directories, but when I run it, it comes up as normal, however without the background, then closes straight away.
Files in question are
hotspots.exe -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Modules\Hotspots
hotspots.html -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Help
hotspots_ie.xml -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Modules\Hotspots
hotspots_uk.xml -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Modules\Hotspots
hotspotsbkgnd.png -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Images
o2aui_nohotspot.xml -> \windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI
Although not critical that I have it, but it's nice to have

Hi Everybody,
I have an anoying problem: I can't get wifi tethering to work. Read millions of posts on XDA but still no results. I love android on my freaky winmo!
This is my status:
Running XDANDROID.2.2.1.AOSP.FRX03.21.11.10.FULL_PACKAGE
Settings -> Wireless -> Wifi -> switch on = OK
Settings -> Wireless -> Tethering -> Wifi Hotspot -> switch on = NOK.
It simply says 'error' and it also switches my Wifi off. After this switching on Wifi also fails and giving me the same message: error.
(PS all the menu's are in my native language and I just translated them directly to english. Haven't figured out yet how to switch everything to english)
I tried different kernels (and modules). The last one I tried:
zImage-2.6.27.46-01250-g8f8207c
modules-2.6.27.46-01250-g8f8207c.tar.gz
Remember I read something about wifi and Radio ROM on the phone, but I have not HardSPL-ed it yet. Is there a minimum Radio version required?
Anyway, Hope somebody can help me a bit. I am desperate .
Kind regards,
Mo

Yes, B528 made with ROOT ... already with the app `s all reinstated by Titanium ...
It took a good few minutes to install the drivers that drew the net, but then was quick and without any problem.
EDIT: Do not know if I can help with anything: Professional 64Bit Win7
I was trying on a phone from a friend of mine. He was using winxp 32 bit, maybe that's the case...
Can youplease share with us the drivers you used?

I have this V100R001C00B528G001-version which is the newest and came out 2.3.2012. It works very nice, but cant root with superoneclick2.3.3(stuck in step#7, cant mount and stuff) or GingerBreak. Has anyone got rooted, help me how? thanks
You need to modify the boot.img firstly (modify the default.proc, change "ro.secure=1" to "ro.secure=0") and use fastboot tool to flash it to phone.

how i root this phone?
Read the post 2 posts above yours?
I have a multiboot scenario set up on my laptop, and I'm using the Windows 8 Graphical Bootloader to manage my other operating systems. I need to install two programs, GBridge, and Synaptics Touchpad Installer, and both use unsigned drivers. It seems Windows 8 doesn't ask for confirmation to install unsigned drivers like previous versions of Windows, it just outright denies them without user consent.
As a solution, I figured I would go to advanced startup options and disable driver signature enforcement like I did *successfully* for my Windows 8 desktop, but after it reboots to enter advanced startup mode, it just goes straight into Windows! No matter how many times I tell it to enter advanced startup mode, it refuses to do it. I even tried removing all my multiboot options and it still goes straight into Windows without asking me what I want to do.
For the record, I've tried it these ways:
Charms Menu -> Settings -> Change PC Settings -> General -> (Advanced Startup Options) -> Reboot Now -> Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> Startup Settings -> Restart (What a pain in the ass to have to navigate all this crap btw)
Choose an OS -> Other Options -> Advanced Startup Options
From legacy boot menu -> F8 -> Advanced Startup Options
All these attempts and methods achieve the same result: a normal reboot without giving the options of what advanced startup I want.
I figured out a solution, more or less...I destroyed and recreated the BCD store, and with a clean boot afterwards it allowed me to get in. Not the most efficient, and I'm sure there was a better way to fix it, but this worked for me.
Can you explain what you did? I am in a similar situation, I can't seem to figure out how to get the boot menu, or any Bios menu for that matter. Device is a Samsung Ativ Tab 11"
I wiped the MBR and rebuilt it with MSDaRT8. Should probably work with the Windows DVD as well. I think the easiest thing for you to do is import my clean backup of my MBR with VisualBCD Editor after backing up your own and compare that with yours. Give it a shot, but I make no promises it will work on your system.
Alright...so download Visual BCD Editor, and import these BCD Backups I've made on my own machine. You can compare the two with yours to determine why yours isn't working, and what needs to be changed to access advanced startup mode. Mainly, you need to "Clean" your BCD of any code pertaining to your multiboot, then make a backup of your BCD store when you're successful, and recreate your multiboot. I switch between my "Clean" and "Multiboot" BCD backups with VisualBCD whenever I need to access advanced startup.
MAKE SURE that you do not reboot while you have imported any of my BCD backups, and always make a backup of your existing one before you make any changes, or else you could break your installation of Windows. If your partition layout is any different from mine, it probably won't boot if you use my BCD store.
I have a NFC door lock , I need to change the NFC Processing Method but I do not have advanced settings in the menu. Even though when I click help on the device itself and select tap and pay it says for the help category it says:
To change your default processing method, go to setings > NFC > Advanced Settings.
Which NFC isn't even it's own menu off settings. I have been in developers setting and other went through the other settings and I am not finding it.
Anyone have any idea where it is? The lock developers says I have to change it from sim card to the android operation system in the settings.
This is what they gave me but it doesn't match up on the Verizon edition.
•Samsung S5 - Settings > Connections > NFC > Advanced settings (top right button) > Change NFC Processing Method == SE SIM Card // Android operating system. Change to Android operating system
Thanks
Mine has the advanced settings with SE SIM card & Android operating system options enabled by default... Not sure but try to clear the app data of your settings from Application manager. If it's still not there try maybe flashing another ROM(official or custom).
I tried clearing the app data and still nothing. I have the latest update from Verizon on the phone, so I don't run a custom rom.
Probably verizon had it disabled on their ROMs? I know most carriers are known for disabling specific phone features.
