[Q] Wifi Tethering on HTC Touch Diamond DIAM100 - Android Software Development

Hi Everybody,
I have an anoying problem: I can't get wifi tethering to work. Read millions of posts on XDA but still no results. I love android on my freaky winmo!
This is my status:
Running XDANDROID.2.2.1.AOSP.FRX03.21.11.10.FULL_PACKAGE
Settings -> Wireless -> Wifi -> switch on = OK
Settings -> Wireless -> Tethering -> Wifi Hotspot -> switch on = NOK.
It simply says 'error' and it also switches my Wifi off. After this switching on Wifi also fails and giving me the same message: error.
(PS all the menu's are in my native language and I just translated them directly to english. Haven't figured out yet how to switch everything to english)
I tried different kernels (and modules). The last one I tried:
zImage-2.6.27.46-01250-g8f8207c
modules-2.6.27.46-01250-g8f8207c.tar.gz
Remember I read something about wifi and Radio ROM on the phone, but I have not HardSPL-ed it yet. Is there a minimum Radio version required?
Anyway, Hope somebody can help me a bit. I am desperate .
Kind regards,
Mo

Can't connect to Internet with 3G/EDGE/...

Hi,
Recently I have a problem that my HTC Magic won't connect to Internet using mobile communications: 3G/EDGE/GPRS and I could not find any setting that would turn off/on the Internet connection.
WiFi works fine.
My phone:
1.) Model number: HTC Magic
2.) Firmware Version 1.5
3.) Baseband Version 62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
4.) Kernel Version 2.6.27-00393-g6607056
5.) Build Number CRC1
Hi antsh85 ,
When i want to disable Internet I do this : To be able to turn data on and off , follow these instructions
Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> Press Menu -> New APN -> fill in the field Name with the word "blank" and press OK -> Fill in the field APN with the word "blank" and press ok -> Press Menu -> Save -> You are now done.
Now , when you want internet you select the Vodafone APN {the original} , If you don't select the "blank" APN profile we just created
CLLC
Yeah it sure sounds like a missing APN after rom flash
Whoops , My bad !
I think i misinterpreted your Original post , I agree with Ronni.rasmussen.
What network are you using and where? UK Vodafone HTC Magic?
Just reply and we'll see if we can give you the right APN

[Q] No Internet on HD2

Ok im running Froyo-Stone Sense v3.2 and I havn't had any problems with it till now,it's been running perfect otherwise,Now it doesn't want to connect to the internet for some reason. It says connection failed and I have tried toggling airplane mode, toggling wifi, etc. My APN settings are correct.Just not sure why all of a sudden it won't work.Any Ideas?Aside from that I am extremely satisfied with this build and I use it daily.
Hi
i had the same issue with the internet in France & I changed the build.prop (under /system) to change to the right DNS addresses.
At the end of this file, i changed to 62.201.129.99 all of the ip adresses
I don't if it'll work for you but this is the only good fix which works 100%
Regards,
Christophe P.
im not sure how to do what your talkin about.lol

[Q] no data connection

Hello I tried several recent roms gingerbread or ics and in every time I do not have data connection but all the rest works very well.please help.
It is very unlikely.
What ROM did you try? SD version or NAND? You mean no data connection in 3G or wifi? You can try some clean and simple ROM, ex. NexusHD2-gingerbread, or Tyween's Typhoon CM7.
I have install typhoon , nexushd2 , mwakious , haldric , always in nand with ext4 1024mo.I have no 3g or internet connection (data transfer) , possible problem apn or i don't know. my clean install : task 29 magldr 1.13 , recovery 220mo, partition sd and install rom version magldr.
I have the same problem!
Wifi is on the other hand working flawless!
someone have the response?
Restart 3G
I posted this in a similar thread. It worked for me when I lost 3G. You may also need to check and update your APN settings for your mobile network if the below does not work. Sometimes removing the sim resets it.
# Go to Wireless & networks # mobile networks # network operators # Search networks # scanning for networks # list of operators will show up # select your network# Then go to Airplane mode # tick the checkbox to on for few seconds, untick the checkbox, phone will go into short reboots, re-enters your sim password to start your phone to your mobile network.
maybe you can check your APN setting for your networks,,,???

[Q] WiFi problem with JB ROMs

1st. Sorry for my bad english
I've tried both MIUI JellyBean 2.10.12 by smokin901 & NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.1 by tytung with NAND with DataOnEXT method in several ways like 320, 340MB system partition on both magldr and cLK.
All the ROMs boot perfect with working basic applications but when I try to connect to WiFi, the SSIDs appear and disappear frequently. Sometimes I can go further and enter the WiFi password but after pressing the connect key, SSID says "not in range". I turned the WiFi off and on again but the problem persists.
Is there anybody with the same problem or has any experience about this issue would be appreciated
PS: I have no problem with WiFi on ICS and GB ROMs.
Settings > Wifi > Advanced > Uncheck avoid poor connection. If already not checked, recheck & uncheck, reboot.
Swyped from HTC HD2 using xda premium
I was near the access point but it shows 1st two rows for signal strength. is this a bug or something?
Thanks in advance anyway I'll try it.

I tried your trick but didn't work. "avoid poor connection" option is disabled by default and I even set it to enable and reboot but it was disabled after startup. any other suggestions?
Wifix.apk?
I found another way suggested by someone in Tytung's JB forum. He applied wifix.apk after installation to fix the Wifi issue. is it also useful on JB? can I use BCM4329_firmware_v4.218.248.18.zip instead?
Any News?!!!

Cloudy G2.2 tethering not working

I have been using CloudyG2 2.2 for over a year with no problems. Unfortunately, I filled up my list of Bluetooth devices (thanks La Guardia) which exposes a KitKat bug where Bluetooth connections are then dropped frequently. I reflashed Cloudy G2.2 again to fix this and went along my way. Unfortunately, I just noticed that when I create a wifi hotspot and connect to it, the other device (usually a Chromebook, though I've tried a few things), can connect to the access point but has no internet connection. Pinging Google does not have a response.
Using SQLite Editor, I have set the following:
settings.db -> global -> tether_dun_required = 0
settings.db -> settings -> tether_entitlement_check_state = 0
I feel like this has probably been beaten to death, but the forum search for this specific forum isn't working. Those above settings seem to have worked across the board on other phones, and if memory serves I used to have to set the tether_dun_required record before I reflashed. Is it possible AT&T has recently changed something on their side? Is there anything else I can check to debug this? I am on AT&T and my plan includes tethering.
Phone model: LG-D800
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.102
Build number: KOT49I
Software version: CloudyG2 2.2
