Universal rings every 11.45PM - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

My Universal rings every night, 15 min before midnite, because I have "All day appoinment" set up in Outlook for the next day.
I never had this before my all my other XDAs, only with Universal or may be its true to say with WM5.
Anyone has a workaround/solutions?

This may seem a little obvious, but . . . do you have reminders set on those all day appointments? Have you tried turning them off? I can think of no other reason why they would be alarming.

lie_ui, sorry but didnt you say that was the best time to call?

Try BRosenow comments.
The default reminder time for appointments is 15 minutes. If you set a reminder for an all day event then 12:00am is the time it starts and then 11:45pm would be the reminder. Coincidental? Prolly not. Also that means that your schedule might be off. In outlook you might need to adjust your day start and end time. Default is from 08:00 to 17:00 if you have like 00:00-24:00 then that could be it too.

Spontaneous Time Zone Changes

I can't seem to reason why the device spontaneously changes from my time zone (EST) to the Atlantic Time Zone. All settings have been checked on both the computer the 8525 is synced with and the device itself. Any suggestions?

Thanks though I did check previous threads
The advice was good however I don't have an option in my clock settings to disable the automatic time update. This AST from EST change also occurs when I reset the device. Do I have another recourse to force the device to remain in current settings?

This is more of a bump than anything else but I'll ask the following question (not because I know an answer but someone else might):
When you say time changes spontaneously I presume you mean - not only when on Active Sync i.e. that the time is coming from your network??
Mike
Clarification
Clarification two events cause the time zone shift from EST to AST:
1. Consistently with activesync, but not 100% of the time. The time zone will shift only sliding to AST, so 7am EST becomes 8am AST.
2. On soft reset the time value remains the same and time zone shifts, so 7am EST becomes 7am AST.
I don't think this is a provider time update issue rather a software issue.
Moving it to the head of line
Thanks for any help.
I can one up your problem with my 8525. At least daily, my phone spontaneously changes forward 3 hours. But the time zone remains at EST. I don't have to use activesync or anything, it will just change when it feels like it. Occasionally, it backs up 1 hour but it always does one or the other. This has been happening since I got it in Nov 2006. Of course cingular offers no help at all but to say it's a daylight savings time problem. Incidentally my smartphone before this (audiovox smt5600) did the same thing, and occassionally changed the current date to my sister's birthday 2 years before current year---and NO, I didn't forget her birthday! Any ideas at all???

Time not correct?

Since the clocks went back here in the UK by an hour on the weekend the time which is displayed when I receive a txt is an hour out.
The time on the phone didnt seem to go back an hour automatically so I manually changed the time but now when I receive a txt it says the message was received at e.g. 20:30 when in fact the time/clock on my phone display's as 19:30 (which is the correct time)?
Anyone have any ideas what the prob is?

This is just a guess, but it almost sounds to me like your carrier hasn't set their time back. See what happens if you tell your phone to sync time with your carrier. If it sets it to the old time, then that would explain why your incoming txts are not right. I'm basing this on the idea that incoming sms time stamp is set by carrier and not by your phone. And I'm guessing that outgoing texts should be set by your phone.
Hope this helps

I have the same issue with some text messages. It´s only in those cases the sender hasn´t set the right time zone or didn´t correct the time at his device. ask those senders for the time they set.

Anyone elses CALENDER acting up?

Just as one example, yesterday my reminder for 9:55 am went off at 11:19 am. Strange?
I have missed a couple of my normal reminders in the past couple days, ever since day light savings time.
Reminders
7:00 Clock In
9:50 5 Minutes til Lunch
12:25 5 Minutes til Break 1
14:25 5 Minutes til Break 2
15:25 5 Minutes til Clock out
Strangely enough my alarm hasnt bugged up a single time.
Alarm 1 5:45 am to wake up
Alarm 2 6:00 am to get up
Both alarms have gone off every single day...
Really wish this would change lol, I was in the back of the factory one day and didnt hear my alarm so missed a 10 minute break, DAMN YOU ANDROID! haha
I've never found the calender app reminders to be very reliable. Any time I really need a reminder I use an email or sms reminder.

Mine went off a day early. But not on the day I needed it to.

DVP DST bug or WP7 bug

Folks, Can you check your DVP time and the actual time today from google. My DVP time zone is set to 05-Eastern US and canada. As of this writing, the current time in DVP is 8:45am. The time as per google and other time sites is 7:45AM. Without DST applied, it is 6:45AM..Can't understand how the DVP shows +2 hrs when DST is in effect.
Edit: It looks like its a minor bug. The DST doesn't work off the get go automatically. Once i went into settings and came back to main screen (or used the phone for couple of minutes), the Time is synced.
================FOR MS==============
Sequence of event (this is for MS to troubleshoot):
1. Set Alarm to ring on weekends @ 7:45AM
2. Sunday 13th Mar 2011 came, alarm rang. Woke up and saw the time on the Device, it said 8:45AM
3. Was pissed that i am late by 1 hr. Booted up my computer and time popped up as 7:45(+/-5 min).
4. Checked my WP7 device again, still said 8:45AM.
5. Went into alarm and checked and came back to main screen and after 10 min, time says 7:55AM.
My inference:
1. Either Alarm is following a time clock on its own or it is not DST applied.
2. OS is not syned with timeserver(?) until one uses the phone?
=============FOR MS==================
My DVP showed the correct -5 Eastern shift BUT my alarm, set for 7am, went off at 8am (adjusted, it was 7am if the time change hadn't happened). I think we may be seeing the same thing. Once my alarm went off, then the time may have updated (the alarm woke me up, so I don't know what it read before that).
I then set a single a alarm, and that happened without a hitch. I didn't mess with my daily 'work' alarm, but added a second one one minute later just in case to track this issue.
I feel bad if this is a bug that's making anyone late for work today.
Yep, same for me...The Alarm was set for 7:45am and it went of @ 8:45am. I think the internal clock might be fine, just the display time is screwed up or buggy.
mines is correct
I'm not sure whats going on with you guys but I don't seem to have this. my time is displayed correctly with no change or intervention from me. I woke up this morning to the right time displayed on my phone. plus I did not have an alarm problem.
I'm using an HD7, not a dell venue pro. don't know if that makes a difference.
It might be just a DVP issue as well. One other thing to note is this bug happens only in a small windows of time (may be 5-10 min or less). So it is very easy to not notice by many. Also If one has the lock screen turning on all time - this might not happen - that's my guess.
Non Bad part - The alarm goes off fine, but time is shown wrong.
Bad part - If one had any appts/tasks to do said day, they might thing that they are 1 hr late and thier alarm screwed up - only to realize later that all is well and WP7 made fun of them.

Late
Just confirming, my alarm was set to 7h00 and went off at 8h00 and when you go into the alarm config it shows it was set to 7h00.
No such bug bugging my DVP.
Strange bugs keep popping out every now n then with dvp.

I have the DVP and live at -05 Eastern US and canada timezone. I have no problem with DTS this morning.

Seems like the few of us that had this happen had alarms set on Sunday. The rest may not have used it to wake up today.
It will be interesting to see if it's just the DVP or a widespread deal with WP7.

Any way to set alarm WITH OUT specific day?

Hey guys, I knew this was going to happen as soon as i got this phone, but I ended up being late for work today because of the alarm... is there anyway to set an alarm WITHOUT having to set a specific day, like on my old evo and evo3d and darn near every thing else you can just set an alarm for 345am and it will go off on the next instance of 345 am, instead of 345am on Monday, then if I want the alarm to go off at that time again later in the week I can just turn it back on instead of having to remember to change the day, usually it isn't a problem but the one time I forget to change the day it is really bad

Just click on the "repeat" button and it will go off every next instance of that time just as you want! You can set multiple alarms as well.

That would only work though if you click every day Mon tues Wed... and repeat weekly, I was hoping to be able to just set a one time alarm. Which I could use later with out having to set the day for it as well

That's it, you just said it lol. Select each day, and select repeat weekly. That's exactly what I do and I never touch my alarm. Dont feel bad, that's happens to me all the time lol. So i set 2 alarms on my phone(45mins apart) and one on my normal clock.
