Cell-ID: AT-Commands and Ril, how to ? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hello!
I am really interested to get the Cell Id information out of my phone : the HTC Universal.
I have already seen most of the existing projects using the Cell-ID. None of them are working on the HTC Universal.
Some try to send AT commands (AT+CREG?). I have tried to do so by sending commands on port COM2 but this fails... I get no response..
I have tried to look at the RIL.h definitions.. but i fail to P/invoke it in c#.
Could someone give me a hand to get this information on the HTC Universal? that would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Lionel

Where to find the RIL SDK?

Can anyone point me to where I can download the radio interface layer SDK? I'm trying to write some phone-specific stuff into my app, but I can't find ril.h or any of the other files I need.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
there is no sdk, but I suggest you try google, it's the first hit.
there are 2 versions of ril.h. One from xda-developers, and the second from Microsoft. I recommend using MS version as it is much more docummented in comments, has more functions/structures.
I've attached MS ril.h and ril.lib
Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.

Click to collapse
Have you had any luck finding a method to get the ROM version?
You can use lineGetGeneralInfo to get the radio ROM version, but I still cannot find a method to get the device ROM version..
Does anyone know a proven technique to get the device ROM version on WM 5.0?
Thanks!
There must be a way.... can anyone reverse engineer the "Device information" application and find the code that gets the ROM version...?

Caller ID over Bluetooth with VC 1.6 on 8125

I have been searching the fourms here and have not yet found a difinitive answer if there is a tweak that will allow you to get VC 1.6 to anounce Caller ID over bluetooth. My searches show that my version of WM5 is not new enough to support this feature. If anyone has discovered a method to get VC 1.6 to do this your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David
The easiest thing you can do is install a cooked AKU 3 ROM or a WM6 ROM
Thanks,
I was hoping that there was a registry tweak that would do the trick.
I see that the ROM will no longer be available on this site. What are people doing to get these cooked ROMs?
Thanks
This is all you need.

I was looking for this too- thanks.
Hi, thanks for the file
Attaboy!!!
Thanks, very useful after rom change!
Very handy, thanks!
Much obliged.
New guy here...
Will this install on a Palm Treo 500? If it will, anyone mind a quick-guide on how?
thanks
Actually, scratch my last post.
I copied the CAB file over to the device and installed it seemingly succesfully. Unfortunately, it won't run.
Error states:
Code:
Can't find "RSSHub" (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available.
I noticed there isn't an executable in the CAB file, alas I know nothing of how these things work. I'm a bit of a newbie to this kind of thing so any help is appreciated!
thanks

[q] help needed (http header filters/modifiers)for windows mobile

Hi Guys,Please i have been searching for a solution as regards changing my winmo's http header contents but no luck.
Furthermore, there are quite a few similar apps on windows xp,vista and 7 working flawlessly ie (proxifier,charles-proxy,proximitron[best] and some others).
i was wondering if our XDa-Gurus could help in porting this apps from .exe to . cab to work on winmo.
kind regards,
Zibamstereo
If you manage to solve this please post here, because I'm interested too.
Ok Bro ..its like no one here wants to help or this question has been regarded as "frivolous".
Eithier way i found a clue but not a complete solution..a mobile proxifier app encompassing the features mentioned above.
However, the app is built using python programming and hence a barrier.i hope win-mo supports python so i can try porting the app to win-mo because it is based on a symbian platform.as soon as i succeed i will attach the required files here.any external help would be appreciated as well
Warm regards,
Zibamstereo
