Text Messaging notification volume? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi I'm looking for some help on my new K-Jam. I am able to send and receive text messages. The problem is that every time I stow the phone in the case the volume changes or if I am using the phone I might change the volume of the alert by accident with the button on the side. Is there any way to keep the volume of the alert independent from the browser? Also I have to keep the volume so high that every time I tap the screen it is too loud for normal use. I need the volume loud to hear an alert for a text message because I might not have the phone on me. Also there is a setting on the settings page to repeat the alarm until I cancel it, but I cannot check it. Is there something I can enable to keep repeating the alarm until I cancel it?
Thanks

PLEASE HELP MSG TONE

is there a way to stop the message tone when you press a button. like anormal phone? cos it keeps ringin in class and i cant shut it up
You can assign a key to your left soft key to dismiss the notification, but I'm doubt it will stop a message tone halfway. You need to have a shorter message tone or just keep your phone in vibrate mode

SMS ringer lasts forever

Does anyone know how to stop the ringer for my text messages to stop ringing so long? I cut it like a regular ringtone, so its like 20-30 seconds and I can open the message, slide up the screen and send a reply and it will still be going. The only way to stop it is to lower the volume while its ringing and turn it back up after its done. Is there a trick in the settings or a way in the registry??
Also, on my A630 I was surprised when I first found out that, for instance the ringer that goes off for my girlfriend when she called would also go off when she sent a text message...on this phone, which is far superior, only the default text message ringtone plays no matter who it is, is there a way to change that??
It will play the entire SMS wav file. no way of stopping. So, put a short one there.
No, as far as I know of customizing SMS alert tone to contacts.

HTC 8525 notification profiles?

Hi all,
I have a question about the AT&T 8525. I already know how to set the notifications for the incoming calls and text messages using the Sound & Notification function. However, if I want to quickly change from sound notification to vibrate notification, e.g. when in a meeting, I have to go to that function again and change vibration to each events. I also know a quicker way to do is tap the volume icon and change the state to vibrate.
The question is whether there is a possible to create profiles for some occasions, such as outside, meeting, silence..., in which I can set the notifications for the events separately, and map that function to a button so that I can immediately change the profile by pressing that button rather than tap this and that, just like the way it can be done with the iPhone or V3i, for example.
Thank you very much all you guys.
PS: I'm using Tai_Sw's ROM - Manila2D 21893 Black 3G

Vibrates too much!!!

Hi guys,
Is there a way to chill out the vibration on this phone?
Everytime I receive an email or I get an appointment reminder, the phone vibrates for like two seconds.
It should just chill out and give me a short vibrate.
I have managed to tone down the vibration on SMS using SMS popup but appointments and emails are still hyper.

Click to collapse
Menu > Settings > Sound there you will find Vibration as well as Vibration intensity.

He's obviously not talking about the haptic feedback.
Noticed that as well. Any notification vibrates so long you think it's a call.
Been looking at this, using Handcent has let me change the text vibrate pattern but nothing for emails. I've read that people have used tasker to do it instead.
I set vibro and sound off for all apps that use notifications, because I do not need to feel them - I use the notifications whenever I view the screen.
I think the length of vibro MAY depend on the length of the SOUND tone you set for specific notifications? like it was with old dumb phones? Try picking a shorter sound.
Just put it in your pocket and smile all day long .

[Q] Battery charged alert OFF

So how do I turn this alert off.
Problem is that it wakes the whole house at night when I leave phone chargeing.
As I understand it, it is in the same category of signals as an SMS.
Do want to hear when SMS received.
I have gone through the menus 101 times.
There are 2 things.
1 is default notification. Settings->Sound->notifications (The notification center)
2 is the sound each application will give when notified. This overrides the 1
If the app has been set to default (which it normally is) then it tell the phone to sound the default notification as defined in 1
So in your case go to 1 and make it silent (this will silence all notification even full charge one. ringtone is not effected)
Now since u still want SMS/GMAIL/Calendar etc to notify. Open those apps, go to their settings and select the sound you want to hear when they want to notify. Just open them and press menu, select settings and see notification options and configure it in the app itself to sound whatever notification you want to hear. In my case SMS/Gmail/K9/GV/Calendar etc have different sounds so I know if it needs immediate attention.
THANK YOU, I would never have figured this out myself.
Followed your description, and I'm sure it works.
