I'd like to load on my WWE K-jam the Italian ROM.
but i don't want to lose my SMS and MMS.
Is there a backup utility that can backup only the SMS/MMS
to reload them after upgrade?
Thanks

backup mms/sms
You can use the smsOrganizer. Than you will be able to backup and restore all your sms and export (but no restore) your mms. it's free.

Can someone please help me..
I want to upgrade to the new ROM 1.11 but I need to backup all of my messages..
I am not sure if using xBackup to backup before upgrading the new ROM then use xBackup to restore is ok or not.. (will this screw up my PPC? because of the old files that might overwrite the new ROM files)
or is there any other way to backup the messages then restore after the upgrade is completed?
Thanks in advance.
use Jeyo Mobile Compagnion work great for this
Sprite Backup also backs up messages and call logs. You'll just have to use the advanced method and see to that you only check those things when you restore. It's said that you cannot restore the full backup afterwards.
Try this
BACKUPSMS by DOPOD china

Thanks for all the tips!
Trying them now
Hi everybody.
I've 2 TyTNs.
The first has xda-live 0.2
The second has the standard italian rom.
After flashing the first I've lost all my messages (I was trying to restore a backup made with SPB Backup) but it didn't work at all.
Before flashing the second I'd like to backup (on WM5) and restore (on WM6) all data.
For Contacts I use NS Contact Backup (I prefer it to outlook)
For SMS I use SMS Backup but it works for SMS only.
For Outlook Emails I use Activesync.
What can I use to backup MMS on WM5 and restore them on WM6?
(I already tried SMS organizer but it hangs. )
Thanks anyone.
Very good question. I want to know also how to backup my MMS.
SMS is no problem.
I was wondering if there's any way to restore email post a ROM upgrade, especially MMS/SMS messages.
I'm trying to backup all my MMS images prior to an upgrade and was hoping there was an easy way to backup/restore them.
I'm currently using Sprite Backup but I doubt I could restore the message database (pim.db ?) from backup to a newly installed ROM.
Any tips appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

On my 8525 I had no problems to backup my PIM data (contacts, calender, emails, sms, mms) via SPB BACKUP on WM5 and restore then after upgrading to WM6. Just make sure that you make either a backup of PIM data only or select RESTORE PIM DATA ONLY in case you made a full backup! If you try to restore the whole WM5 backup on a WM6 it will most likely fail because system files will get overwritten and some WM6 REGISTRY entries will get replaced with older WM5 ones.
Here is the best solution if you want to try:
On your WM5 device make a full backup with SPB BACKUP, then flash your device with WM6. Run the SPB BACKUP file you've created before and select PIM ONLY for restore.
If it fails you always can flash back to WM5 and reload the whole backup! But I am 100% sure it will work! I made it several times from WM5 8525 ENGLISH ROM to a WM6 O2 GERMANY ROM (which proofed to me that language does not matter in that case! )
just a little search

search more you'll find more.
Fabulous - thankyou!

Except that MMS backups aren't supported
A (probably) dumb question:
in the SPB BACKUP when I backup "emails" am I saving all SMS and MMS as well?
yep that's correct
spb backup
Spb Backup backups email, sms, mms and contacts.
Do everyone know how to read my sms (after backup) on desktop PC?
I downloaded SpbBackupUnpackDesktopPC so I can see it, but I havent program for opening messages (in *.mpb)...
thx
Just installed this and, after some frustrated attempts to backup and restore SMS messages, I finally got it to work.
Here's the key... backing-up PIM data does NOT backup SMS messages on the HD2. You MUST select the option to backup e-mails when running a custom backup if you want your SMS messages backed-up!
Hope this helps someone.
