Currently working in Saudia Arabia, my XDA I died last week and am now looking to purchase a XDA II, one thing i've notice however is that that the I Mate is considerably cheaper than the XDA II, could someone please tell me what the reason behind this is? Secondly is there any difference between the two devices?
Cheers
PLEASE HELP
Guys a response would be tremendoulsy appreciated as I can't continue living my life without an XDA replacement
they are both 'Himalaya' devices which mean they are 100% the same hardware
of cause what software is on them can differ maybe o2 pay money for extre non std mw2003 software and thats the difference
if it's not 3th party software which cause the price diff then i have no idea
another explanation could be if the original HTC device is being manfactured in the far east zone (ex: Thailand, Singapor, ... etc) this will give the i-mate brand an advantage since there is almost no customs in Dubai, UAE ... but it's not the case if you tried to get the O2 XDA II from England or the MDA II.
For the additional s/w, let's not forget that the i-mate is arabized which should add extra value (cost)
Thanx guys.........so in essence the I Mate is not Inferior to the XDA????
Cheers
I have an XDA and was looking at purchasing the new model XDA II or i-mate.
Does anybody know if there is any difference between the two ?
not hardwarewise
So does that mean that there is a difference in the software ?
yeah xda2 is the name of the Himalaya device sold by the phonecompany o2 so the rom include special o2 software and preset o2 settings most likely
Is there any news whether Xda III has been released on the market ? 'coz as i know, it would be released this month.
Need suggestion here...should i change my Xda II to Xda III ? Although there are not many differences, but additional QWERTY keypad and built-in WiFi might be considered. Or...should i wait for Xda IV which rumours say will be released on the first half of 2005 ? Suggestions would be very appreciated
If you need WIFI, change it.
If you need keyboard, change it.
If you don't need them, why waste the money for a device has the same fuction?
BTW, the new Black XDAIIs looks cool , maybe it's the point to change my XDAII -> XDAIIs.
Was just thinking the same thing...plus if u sell your II then it'll cost less to get a IIs and when you come to sell the IIs (eventually) you'll have a newer unit to play with to upgrade to the theoretical IV!
Is XDA IIs the same with XDA III ?? How about XDA IIi ?? I seem lost with these two.
there is no device called xdaIII
the xdaIIi is what is also called mda3
xda1 mda1, qtek1010.... are Wallaby devices
xda2, mda2 qtek2020.... are Himalaya devices
xdaIIi, mda3 and ,...... are blue angel devices
all made by htc and oem'd by different other companies calling them what ever they feel like
O2 announces two new xda devices!
Check this out!
The official announcement of O2!
They also claim to release a new model at the start of 2005 called xda IIi that would have :
- 520MHz Intel PXA270 processor
- 1.3 megapixel camera
That's sounds interesting .Maybe i will upgrade my new xda2 (just bought 2 weeks ago) when they release that one....
Does anyone know where to get spare parts in Germany for the O2 Version of the HTC Polaris ? I need the front display touch window as mine has scratched by accident.
I cannot use the Polaris one as the XDA seem to have a different shape. I asked at HTC and they told me that only O2 is reponsible for the XDA devices. XDA charges a lot for their service and I was told that O2 does not sell any spare parts.
Thanks in advance, Andre
Hi all,
According to what I have understood, P3300 hardware is almost the same,
the only difference between O2 XDA Orbit and T-Mobile MDA COMPACT III is that T-Mobile Version have the WI-Fi disabled.
Does this mean that if I buy a new O2 XDA ORBIT cover for a T-Mobile, this will fit it?
Did anyone experimented that before?
...
simple answer.. yes!
you may need 2 extra screws for it though..
i cant remember whether its the o2 or tmobile cover that has the extra 2 screws..
thank you!
I'll have a try with a new orbit case..
