Dito... I may be able to help if you explain a little more.
Terran

What he means is that he's halfway through a billing cycle, so he's used up some of his monthy allowance (say, 26 out of 40MB) and now that he's installed the GPRS monitor he wants to tell it how much of his allowance it has left, so it can track it from here on in.
Incidently - anyone know how to stop it from "randomly" setting the backlight to 'off'?

SPB GPRS Monitor???

Yeah. Well, I've installed and removed it a few times, and had the above-described problem a few times...and it seemed to be related. The backlight control in GPRS Monitor doesn't work with my Vario (the backlight is implemented differently in different devices and the Wizard is not yet supported).
Anyway - I don't want to hijack this thread and I've stopped trying with GPRS Monitor

It's the vertical, graduated bar with a sunshine symbol at the top of it.
There's also a battery power indicator along with a backlight control here that let you maintain your device's power.

OK to answer the question posed at the start of this thred.. no I dont belive you can.
Re the above quote, after a number of calls to Tmoble did not even know what I was talking about or how to even log the issue ( and this is their 3 line support team although they did offer to send me a new CD ) I managed to get an Answer out of SPB re the bug. They are aware of it and have a fix in the new version ( which I am waiting for ) and will be avaible for download from their site soon. What u do is install the Tmobile version then their latest minor update.
Terran

You mean we should install the version off the T-mobile CD because that works? Or it works once you install the latest version on top?
...or the latest version isn't out yet and we have to wait a bit?

No the TMobile version does not work... but you need it installed to register the version you DL from SPB.
SPB will allow you to freely DL and update your software on minor versions only... ie 2.4 to 2.5 no 2.4 to 3.1 and so on.
The latest version to fix this prob is not out yet... but its on the way.
Terran

Ohh, I see - because you can only download a trial, whereas T-mobile have included a registered version on the CD.

Your nice and small memory saving utilities! [edited]

Hey all, i'm always in a hassle to find a good battery monitor for my magician, i've tried a lot of them and it seems any make my day... so what are you guys using?
edit: keep the small and usefull utilities comming
I'm using the icon that comes with SPB gprs Monitor, it's small, clear (though hard to see what's exact state) & it doesn't cost me any space, since I want to see the gprs connectionspeed anyway.
Regards, M
I use the resco today plugin to display me the battery status. It looks clean on my today screen

Might be a setting in PI. I use PI2005R4 and I don't get tray icons. I don't use reminders..that might be why??? Your correct; haven't been able to disable the tray except by not using programs that put icons in the tray
Also, SBSH.net iLauncher has the ability to put shortcuts and meters--not the imate battery icon--in the tray. Previously, I did this to take up space on the tray line that would otherwise be wasted. Someone/somewhere stated that they were able to set the tray to use only one pixel..I was not able to figure how this was done. Wished I'd have remember to ask.
-Michael.
mjohns - IIRC the tray was being hidden (not set to 1 pixel).
This is to maintain compatibility with other applications, whilst also freeing up the space in the Today screen to its maximum potential.

Wow, what's the Time/Date Giant on your Today ? I like it, I'll take it
The large date plugin is VJAudioNotes
But this has now been replaced by VJEphemeris.
I use VJEphemeris on my Magician, day to day.
But (un)fortunately, VJEphemeris has been replaced by VJSihaya! (long term development).
The screenshot with the hidden tray, above, is using VJToggleToday WM5. But unforunately it's not entirely finished yet (need to put a bit of a UI on it perhaps). It only needs a few more days on it, but I've been exceptionally busy the last week at work, so no time to program at all. Thank God it's Friday!

Any way to remove the batt icon on top?

Yeah what was the point if you're just gong to leave the comm manager down there anyway... Also why did they cover the time?! Now I have to have the date displayed on my today screen taking up valuabe real estate just so I can see the time just by turning on my phone. They must have been smoking crack.
BTW does anyone know how to get rid of the comm manager down there. It's one little icon taking up a whole row...!

It's the program in your startup, just remove it and it wont load
Yeah same here. Wish I could get rid of that stupid battery icon. I want to get rid of the time on the today screen and use it for something more useful again.
Screen estate is "expensive" - the person who finds out how to get rid of it will be my hero for quite some time
I'll pitch in 5 bucks(USD PAYPAL).
I got $5.00 on it as well. I haven't upgraded to the latest rom because of this.
I am happy to join the list of wanters
I have been looking around some places and have a thought...... in the o2 Extended ROM there is a CAB file called "Signed_Remove_BatteryIcon.sa.CAB" I can't run this at the moment as I am at work and dont have a sync cable with me......
Anyone know what this CAB does? Can anyone try this before I get home?
The CAB is in the o2 zip on the FTP site, under Extended_ROMs -> o2
This is likely to be the cab that removes the battery icon from the Tray (bottom of Today Screen). This is where the battery indicator lived pre-AKU2 on many devices.
Just so people know, all the tweaks/hacks out thyere right now for this only removes the icon when in other programs, not out of the tray when at the today screen.

Correct.
We need to figure this battery thing out... Is it HTC that releases the ROMS or does Qtek and Imate make their own?
Microsoft delivers the OS and APIs/SDK. More than likely, this is a change by MS. HTC adds the HTC-hardware specific drivers and basic hookups (e.g. all default button functionality, what to do when a built-in keyboard is activated, etc.). All the others do the branding, extrom composition, what's extra in the box, etc.
In the end, I guess somebody might post a quick message on one of the windows mobile MSDN blogs to see what the thought behind this change was, and whether it can be undone in any way.
My guess is that you'll have to roll back to the previous battery driver in order to get rid of it. If someone knows how to extract the driver from the first rom and put it into the second, we might get somewhere.

CallCapturer is an alternative to the WM callID screen, written in C# CF (so you'll need .NET CF 2.0 or above) for touch screen devices.
CallCapturer will start as silent, and will appear when you get a call!
History
0.06 Has caller picture functionality, and hopefull works better...
0.05 Actually works! (in theory at least)
0.04 No longer full screen - fixes an issue...
0.03 Change of call discovery method.
0.02 Release with nice UI
0.01 First release as beta
Planned updates
Video ringtones?
Caller picture
Thanks to MarcLandis!
Source Code available here
Use it as you see fit, so long as you put my name some where on your release!
Does not work on my HTC 6700, restarted PPC and your call screen shows, I hit the end button and it goes in the background. Call myself and the WM CallID shows not CallCaputre

This is just the call capture part... I'm going to add it into FSD, but I need to make sure it works, and I want to do this as a standalone app as well...
im just this is lighter, better looking, easier to skin.
it would be better to put into roms
