Does anyone know of any good alarm software that's compatible with the universal? The built in alarm gives up the ghost before I'm even half way to waking. I'm currently using my old treo just for getting me up in the mornings.
I'm also on the lookout for a decent piece of Alarm software, but in the meantime, you can use this:
apReminder+ http://www.apsoftsystems.com/apreminderplus/index.htm
I haven't tried it with an "alarm", but for calendar notifications it does a good job (I use Calendar events for wake up calls..) It basically see's the notification and then plays whatever you tell it to, up to 100 times at whatever interval.. pretty effective wake up tool!
Its not quite WM5 aware, in that Landscape mode doesn't work.. you won't be able to click the Run button to save the settings, so just make sure its in portrait first. It also plays silly buggers with the screen if you start it off in landscape and then change to portrait, so bear that in mind. Other than that, its ace.
I have been using pTravelAlarm for some time, both on the Universal and my previous BA. It has muliple, selectably repeatable alarms and you can choice the sound or music to go with it. They have also issued a 'fixed' version for MM5 pending a final upgrade to it.

I've just been reading their FAQ and it confirms that if you password protect your device after a period powered down, then you can't see the snooze/dismiss screen of pTravelAlarm when it wakes you up in the morning. It's hidden behind the WM5 password screen.
How do users of pTravelAlarm get around this problem? It seems pretty fundamental to me. Pity though - a decent alarm clock app would be v.useful.
I'm using SPB time V. 1.1.
I was using it with my old PDA2K, and now using the same with Jasjar.
doing well so far.
does spb time bring your system out of standby. I have noticed that it does not. the alarm only rings when I switch on the backlight and bring the system out of standby.

Same with me, spb does not bring my system out of standby.
I used to manually set my device not to turn off device if not used for (--) minutes from the power setttings before going to sleep. This is the only way to get the alarm working and I think it's copatibility problem with WM5 as this version of the software was designed for WM2003 and still no up-grade is developed.

Chronos for Pocket PC
I used this one it's very good can play MP3 and can select custom sound stored in memory or on the storage card.

I'll vote seconds for Chronos... I've been using it for years now, and have never once had it miss an alarm. It's quite configurable and does it's one thing (alarms) very very well
! FIXED!!!
Hello All!
After 3 weeks of usage of my Qtek9000:
- all the Calendar notifications dissapeared (no text, no sound);
- the Alarms did have sound and vibra, but no text and Notification softbutton on the screen;
- alarms sounds could appear on their selfs on a random time and no Text on the screen.
I've searched the forum and it learned out that it is a Notification Que Issue.
It looks that upon a time, that que is being oversized or some mess (duplicates?) happened in it.
So, after that the "Notification Que" Issue appears.
HOW I FIXED IT:
1. Get the MemMaid \ PocketMechanic app;
2. find and delete duplicates, SoftReset (SR) (no success so far);
3. delete up to 200 CALENDAR.EXE entries, (SR) (no success so far);
4. delete up to 100TASK.EXE entries, (SR) (no success so far);
5. delete .\\notificatiopn.....script... entries, (SR) (no success so far);
6. delete all repllog.exe entries (2) and SR- IT WORKS AGAIN !!! ;
From this case - I dont know which of the manipulations actually brought my notifications back alive (is that really the repllog.exe entry?)
The possible longterm solution may be a 3-rd party App, which performs scheduled Notification Que clean up?
This is a very annoying and awfull BUG in the WM5 !!!
As I don't believe the fillowing ROM releases will fix this critical bug, the only way out - is developing the system app to perform a scheduled Notification Que clean up.
All, please, give your feed back: your experience, knowledge on the subject, etc.
Thank you.

It was developped for 2003 but still efficient on 2005. I've tried Memmaid : good for everything but not the notification queue...

NO NOT DELETE NOTIFICATIONS
Hi!
I deleted the notifications dima_the_chief mentioned. After that the alarm and calendar events worked again. BUT:
1. Only the newly entered calendar events worked, because the notification entry of old ones were deleted from the notification queue.
2. Deleted repllog.exe notifications --> Activesync never connected again. I have read several posts on the forum on how to restore reppllog.exe notifications that make Activesync work. However, I didn't manage to do it. Activesync is lost.
3. Deleted SCRIPT..... notifications --> The led on my device did not signal me anymore if I had new messages or missed call. It was always green, no matter what I set in Sounds and Notifications.
I performed a hard reset So all of you, beware. If you must, delete calendar and alarm events - in this case you will miss all calendar and alarm notifications you already have. But in worst case they can be restored by touching all items in your calendar (click edit, change something, then save).
But DO NOT DELETE repllog.exe and SCRIPT notifications!!!
That is my experience, there may be a solution, but I haven't found any, which resulted in a hard reset
Cheers

Guys,
Do any of you use my Today Toggle software in full screen mode?
I've developed an "auto-hiding" start bar and new menu bar (the one at the bottom of the today screen) to go in conjunction with my full screen today screen.
Theory - use my TodayToggle to have a fullscreen today. But that hides away your start bar to a small line (usable but small). For some that can be disconcerting, and you also lose some minor functionality (the clock!).
So, here's what I've invented. But I don't think any of you guys use it!
My basic today screen (new bar is hidden, but start bar is shown):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Note the tiny dots in the top left corner? That's my new program, HideStart.
Ok: clicking on the dots hides the start bar and shows my PhoneAlarm skin instead
Click and holding the dots brings up a menu, with the time, and an option to toggle the New Menu bar:
And toggling the new menu bar shows it, in a more convenient place!
Would any of you guys ever have use for this?
V
RE
Hi vijay555,
Post your new HideStart here and let us have a try
Thanks
If this could be set to simply toggle the start and new bar at the top (without using a popup menu), I'd find it very useful. I don't use PhoneAlarm hence only needing to switch between the two. It would also need to be compatible with TillanoSoft's SmallMenuPlus.
It might be useful to allow the dots to be left or right by user option too.
Like FOSA says, post it here and let us have a play.
mtbsoft - I use SmallMenuPlus so it's certainly compatible with it.
It needs a couple of tweaks, so I'll release it shortly... but I think I'm the only one that uses the Fullscreen phonealarm hack, so there's not much point muddying waters by releasing it in that form.
Your idea for a Startmenu/NewBar toggle is probably better for most users. I'll see if I can knock that up.
V
Fantastic, I look forward to it.
Hi Vijay,
Can you like switch the start menu on the bottom and put the new menu on the top? it will be a cool feature... thanks in advance
::adit
adit - I could do that, but are you sure you would want it?
An idea would be to move the start bar to the bottom of the screen like the old WinCe, and shift the whole screen up to fill the gap.
I'll try it out at home to see if it's usable. But some things are hard coded to find the start bar at the top, eg notification balloons (and new bar menus are hardcoded to appear at the bottom). So although I could do it, it'd be more for "advanced users" - ie geeks like me!
V
Guys - a new hack:
Don't you hate it when your reminders pop up - you want to remember them, but you can't be bothered to Snooze them for 5 mins each?
I've managed to add a new mod to send reminders to the back, ie push them out of the way, but still keep them all intact.
Let me demonstrate:
A normal reminder, demonstrating my NewBar hack at the top of the screen. Note the little reminder icon on the left of the tray?
My hack "ghosts" the alarm, so that it is still visible but sent can now be pushed aside, ie you can operate your PPC normally, but view the reminder screen anytime
You call up the reminders again using the little alarm icon in the tray.
The reminders can then be activated, dismissed etc as normal.
Not for release yet - just a work in progress
V
RE
Hi vijay555,
Can you make that tray icon blink to red color so that its more visible?
Thanks

Stunning idea, dammit but you must be psychic! I was just thinking no more that an hour ago what a pain the current implementation of reminders is.
I agree with FOSA on the colour and blinking would be even better.
What happens about the sound though when the alarm is pushed to the back? Is it muted or does it continue (and what if it is via a third party product like SuperAlert or Pocket Plus?)?
Edit:
Now here's a challenge for you. Can you actually modify the reminders window that appears? I would love just three big buttons (like my old Psion)...
Snooze - for 5 minutes, multiple presses add 5 minutes, wraps round at 60;
silence - leaves the dialog (perhaps behind using your hack) but silences any sound;
dismiss - clears the reminder;
all easily navigable using just the d-pad.
Can it be done!?!?
Guys - the alarm icon in the tray isn't actually implemented by me, it's part of the OS, curiously (I don't understand why it's there, since it can never be accessed when reminders are on screen), but it's there. I could probably make it flash, but it would require timers and things that would eat system resources. I'll think about it, but I don't like chewing up resources on the system.
Reminders continue to behave in exactly the same fashion as normal - all I've done is prevented them from hogging the screen, so they can be viewed and acted upon at will rather than demanding immediate attention.
This idea is more of a "thought experiment" right now. I'm not quite sure how to implement it into a usable tool. It works nicely right now, if a reminder pops up you can still (and always) access my little dots, choose "Reminder" from the menu (not shown in the screenshots) and it'll neuter the reminder dialog.
I thought about remodelling the dialog myself actually, to make it more thumb friendly. I'm afraid I can't change the nature of the snooze dropdown combo (ie each click adds five minutes), but I can certainly change the size and position of the buttons to be more accessible. I think that's quite essential
I've got a couple of more ideas to put into this tool, and one idea for a very cool hack that I don't think has been done before to bring a bit of WM2005 to WM2003 :wink: However, I'm on holiday from Saturday for 2 weeks, so it may have to wait.
Damn you topless beach!

Hi vijay,
sorry for the late reply i was busy with my work. anyway yes, i would love that feature switch everything like winCE. for the notification, can't we just like use "fake-but-working" icons like u did on the reminder alarm icon? we can add icons afaik thru editing the registry and make it clickable to show those notifications, that way it won't look odd? but i don't know, do u think its possible? thanks in advance.

Guys, updated here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27722&highlight=

Now available for PocketPC devices too ...
DontForget is easy-to-use and highly customizable Windows Mobile application that can repeatedly remind you of unread SMS text messages,
unread MMS multimedia messages, missed calls, unread E-mails and missed calendar events by sound, vibration, notification window or hardware LED.
But it is not just an extension for Windows Mobile operating systems which should already be present and preinstalled by the operating system.
DontForget also can do much more. You can also schedule to automatically switch your device to certain profile, switch to the Flight-mode in given time of deactivation and much more.
And, by purchasing the license you automatically get technical support, upgrades and future enhancements and the income is used to contribute to special school for sightless children.
Even that version for PocketPC offers nearly the same features as the version for Smartphone, they are internally very different.
PocketPC version is build on complettely new basis so it can take advantage of this sub-platform and it is optimized for 24/7 usage – especially for minimal CPU load
and for tight cooperation with the Windows Mobile OS Power Management.
Key features include:
• wide range of monitored events (SMS, MMS, missed calls, calendar events, unread e-mails, voicemails)
• choose sound to play for reminder notification (5 sound samples included)
• manual or automatic (according the profile) sound volume
• selectable repeat time interval and repetition rate
• selectable vibration and LED alert (device specific, read further down)
• wide range of deactivation setting (in selected profile, in the Flight-mode or specified time period)
• highly customizabled deactivation and re-activation actions (action scheduling) like:
• switch the device to the Flight-mode or back to GSM mode (Phone on/off)
• switch to selected phone profile
• execute or open selected application or file
• scheduled reboot (soft-reset) to automatically reboot your device in preset weekdays and time to keep your device healthy
• Flight-mode switching and automatic reboot feature is working even the device is locked or secured by the SIM PIN
• full support and utilization for the Windows Mobile Power Management and low CPU load optimalization
• multilanguage support (English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, Slovakian, Polish, Russian and Chinese)
You can find more information and the download at the application page.

I'm currently using PhoneAlarm to do have reminders for unread SMS, E-Mail etc.
However, I really like the idea of this app. Maybe when I'm tired of PhoneAlarm, I'll give this a try.
For someone might be an advantage DontForget doesn't resides on the Today screen - it's really hidden and working in the background.
It also means it is optimized for 24/7 usage – especially for minimal CPU load and for tight cooperation with the Windows Mobile OS Power Management.
Hujer,
I have followed your program for quite some time. This is great!!!!

Sounds promising, will give it a try.
Perhaps you can add a reminding by rule, eg. on file oder registry changing.
or on
- cell
- service provider
- low battery
- incomming eMail, SMS or MMS (by keywords)
etc.

Do you think these are missed events?
Somehow I cannot see the reason to immediately know whether some file or registry entry was changed ... except of hacking...
I have one question, did u ever think about the option to change the color or frequency of the led?

Yes, I've played with this idea some times ago ... but finally I ended up - this is just waste of time.
In general, all LED features are very device and even OEM specific and may not work in the same way or correctly on all devices.
And I don't want to produce a hack - rather a stable and correctly running application, which will work in the same manner on all WM devices.

No hacking at this point, but i think at hklm/system/state/ exists a lot of interesting states.
eg. /phone/cell broadcast, /radio ready state, and so on.
With a reminder on file changing i could run a batch-file (with tinybatch.exe) that will backup the corresponding file.
And with the possibility to make reminders by rules, DontForget would become a universal tool.
Hi hujer,
thank you for the app. I waited a long time for DontForget PPC. I tried a lot of other reminder soft and wasn't happy with them.
No I have an error message after executing DontForgetAdmin " Exception Configuration.Write: NullReferenceException". And after a softreset DontForget doesn't start automatically. How can I change this?

Of course, I would like to help you and fix this problem. I'll need your help.
Please, contact me via e-mail you can find on the Support page.
there is a way to enable repeat reminders for sms/email/etc that doesn't involve paying $15.
i have no problem buying software, but i can't believe how much people are charging for such a simple app.... $15 to just repeat a notification? yeah ok.. i'll settle for the free edit-the-registry-version. i bought far more complex apps for much reasonable prices.
these forums seem to be going from contributions to commercial apps and blatant advertisements.
Two points from me......
1. @tft - yeah, there's a free "edit the registry" option which, IMHO, sucks big time as it keeps on reminding you even after you've dealt with the call or SMS or email or whatever......free it might be, useful it is not!!
2. @hujer - liking what you've done so far but I'd like to have the ability to set different sounds for different reminder types (like my current "app of choice" - AlarmPal - does).....I place more importance on missed calls than I do on missed SMS's, so if DF had different sounds for each event then I would know what I'd missed without having to look at my phone.
Keep up the good work!!
Mark.

DontForget is not about "repeated notification" only - there are also some other possibilities and features (hoping you read about).
If you think it's so simple to write such app which reflects all possible states and WM Power Management and a couple of other things - write your own itself.
And then, when you are finished, we can polemize about ...

Yes, this feature is on my ToDo list, but actually finishing real PocketPC version had bigger priority. Other words: I will add this possibility in (some) future release, definitely.
Get the minor update now.
DontForget is still growing. There will be more and more options and possibilities in the near feature.
And don't forget this is not just a another reminder application, with DF you can manage more e.g. schedule periodic reboots (soft-resets) to keep your device healthy etc.
Version 2.62 for Smartphone and 2.02 for PocketPC released - recomended update
This is recomended update for all to avoid problems reported by some users
who had troubles to run DontForgetAdmin e.g. after ROM update etc.
More info you can find here: http://magazin.softimage.cz/dontforget/news/
Version update 2.63(SP) and 2.03(PPC) released
This update for Smartphones and PocketPCs contains some internal fixes.
Mainly this version fixes the problem with LED and/or Vibration alert on devices which have more than 2 system LED lights defined (like HP iPAQ 614c)
causing the device does not vibrate (or LED-blink) on remiders.
Please also note you can use DontForget application to simply fix the "Amber LED not blinking on Reminders" problem.

If anyone experiences a bug with Klaxon, please post a description of the bug, steps to reproduce the problem, and attach the \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.txt file to the post.
If any developer wants to take over this project, please contact me via a PM!
TO DO:
Support for multiple languages.
Looking for more ideas to help improve this application!
Version 2.0.0.29
Updated Klaxon to support Samsung Light Sensor
Fixed issue with device not waking up from sleep to sound alarm.
Version 2.0.0.24
Re-enabled the code that forcibly removes the Windows alarm (May cause issues with some phones).
Please use the regular download link or AppToDate (did not make a blog entry about this minor change).
Version 2.0.0.23
Removed the upper right default "ok" button from the OpenFileDialog. This prevents users from hitting Ok and closing the dialog when no file has been selected.
Reverted previous change to "dismiss" Windows alarms. This was causing issues on mine and other devices in that the Klaxon Alarm would never show up. In its place, Klaxon now prevents Windows Alarms from flashing, playing sound, or vibrating. The notification will still show up, but at least not it is completely benign.
You can no longer hit the Off or Snooze buttons while the phone's screen is powered off.
Klaxon will no longer start the OpenFileDialog in the Windows directory to prevent the device from hanging while all the files are listed.
Fixed Daylight Savings Bug!
I'm also looking for someone to design a skin or two for Klaxon, as well as a new icon! Please contact me if you are interested!
Version 2.0.0.21
Fixed crash bug that would happen when browsing a directory filled with many sound files.
Changed the Klaxon icon to something nicer looking. (Requires restart, Windows Mobile caches icons)
The OpenFileDialog now shows the appropriate size folder icon for your resolution.
Version 2.0.0.20
Added Volume control option for alarm under Settings.
Fixed intermittent bug where Samsung G-Sensor exception went uncaught, causing an exception.
Version 2.0.0.19
When integrating with Home Screen, Klaxon now cancels all Windows alarms upon firing an alarm.
Turning off the screen when snoozing is now an option in settings.
Klaxon will now ask for confirmation if you try to create or edit an alarm that is set as disabled. Some users were accidentally disabling the alarm and pressing OK, and the alarm would obviously not go off.
Version 2.0.0.17
Skinning support implemented, sample skins will be released soon.
Completely stripped out the old Klaxon UI design and added QVGA support for the new skinnable UI.
Fixed bugs related to the new feature that allows you to disable sensors while snoozed.
Download and extract the new TestSkin into \Program Files\Klaxon\TestSkin to use as a base to create your own skins. TestSkin looks exactly like the default Klaxon skin.
If you want to install the TestSkin, your directory structure should look like this image:
http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/KlaxonDirectoryStructure.jpg
Version 2.0.0.11
Added options to disable each sensor action while snoozed. For example, if your Flip action snoozes your phone, and you don't want to let it resnooze while snoozing (by just picking up your phone in some cases), check this box!
Added the ability to select a Windows Media Player playlist. You can find playlists in your \Playlists or \Internal Storage\Playlists folders. You can use Windows Media Player on your desktop to create and sync playlists.
When you snooze your device, the screen is automatically turned off to save power.
The default sound file is now \Windows\Alarm5.wav. It is not configurable in the UI yet, but you can configure it manually setting the \HKCU\Software\Klaxon\DefaultSoundFile value in the registry. (It does not exist by default, but Klaxon will use it if it is there.)
Version 2.0.0.9
Implemented About Box
Implemented the Snooze countdown on the alarm form.
On the Alarm List form, days that are not scheduled to start the alarm are now a darker color than they were before.
Fixed bug where deleting all the alarms would not remove the alarm from the TouchFlo Home Screen.
Fixed the sound looping bug once and for all! Found a not so well documented "loop" API hidden off the WindowsMediaPlayer.settings.setMode method.
Fixed bug where seconds showed up on the alarms in the list form and the alarm itself.
Version 2.0.0.6
Implemented new skin for the actual Alarm form.
Implemented 24 hour mode (on the reskinned version only)
Possibly fixed bug where wav files were not looping.
Fixed bug where editing alarms that took place on the noon or midnight hours were bugged.
Vibrations are now 150 and 300 ms instead of 500ms.
Windows Alarms are now schedule with no sound, so all the user may see is a notification (if Home Screen integration is enabled)
Fixed bug where One Time alarms did not show up on the Home Screen.
Version 2.0.0.5
If you have a 480x640+ screen, you will see the new UI. It's pretty. Still have to skin the alarm form, but besides that, it is done.
Possibly fixed bug where Klaxon would stay resident in memory.
The number controls are now gesture based: you can flick them and they will scroll through their range quite rapidly!
You can now preview the alarm using the play button. (Only available in the new UI)
Using Klaxon is pretty straightforward; it's more or less like the standard Clocks and Alarms application.
You can download Klaxon from my website.
wow, sounds perfect!
i'll test it right away!
thanks!
Can you make the time the light goes on configurable (15 seconds seems too short).
Surur
I'll try this too in the morning -
Great work
Is this a replacement for the WM alarm/clock or just something on top of it?
What I would like to see:
- a TouchFlo 3D Clock layout when the alarm goes of with the current time and the alarm and snooze time posted, and a symbol that indicates if an alarm is set up or not
- allow it to have multiple alarms to set up
I have attached an image how it could look like
(the settings remain as yours... or Touch Diamond Style like in the com manager )
Really nice and fast job. I cant wait untill its done
Testing
Ok, so ive been testing it a bit this morning and discovered some bugs.
1. Cant delete alarm, nothing happens when you press the delete option.
2. If you go in to chose a alarmsignal and end up pressing Done before you find a signal, you end up back where you started without the option to change the signal, so you have to start all over making a new alarm.
3. If your screen is turned off, the alarm doesnt go off. But as soon as you press the powerkey the alarm starts..I would call this the main issue that should be fixed first.
Question: What is required to make it go to snooze? If you have the phone in your pocket while walking will it turn to snooze just by a little nudge?
Would be good if it would require a good shake
Ill keep testing! Great work mate
Great alarm clock!
But it would be nice with a working one
I have it on the table facing up and it sounds for like a 10th of a sec, then it goes to snoozing...
Little buggy right now ... but I really like the idéa!
Great work!!
Wow!!!
This will be perfect when it's finished! I had a similar app on my N95 and was thinking it would be a perfect addition to my Diamond.
I will test it but until I know it works while I am awake I don't think i'll risk as an alarm to get me up in the morning. I don't think work will be sympathetic to me being late due to testing new software for my phone
Wow! Very nice App! Wanna have!
But following improvements would be nice:
- Finger friendliy configuration. I hate the original alarm settings.
- Possibility to select the predefined sounds with a combo box. It needs much time to select a file in de windows directory by browsing. And additional possibility to browse for an mp3 file.
- Possibility to configure or enable/disable the tilt behaviour
Bugs:
- The phone wakes up and goes back to standby after 2 seconds, the sound stops too. Pretty like NisseDILLIGAF described it. Perhaps its because of S2U2 (I've 1.10b)?
good idea! but bug for me (with rom bepe 0.96) it seems that the program don't work if i turn off the sreen with the power button...

Definitely +1
Fingerfriendly is very important for an alarm clock.
But nice idea!

I had the same issue. I set the alarm and waited for it to go off and it did nothing until I pressed the power button to turn the screen back on.
Also once it did finally go off I turned the phone over and nothing happened.
As for editing alarms - as someone menioned once you create an alarm you can't delete it at the moment.
I look forward to an update.
first off all thanks for a great application.
installed it and got some bugs also:
if display is turned off the alarm doesn't go on until i press power button and turn display on, the alarm goes for 1 sec and then is put on snooze. the delete function works ok and +1 for me for a finger friendly config. it's very hard to select the days
VERY GOOD!... i have another idea relating this app....
you can make a screen with something (like tewwter) who disable the alarm.
I think the 80% of the people will do an automatic gesture while sleeping to deactivate the alarm: If a guy is obliged to follow, for example, a combo (random) of unidirectional shake, it is awake enough, ant the alarm can be sutdown
So, my pda ring, i flip it face down and it snooze the alarm; if i want to DEACTIVATE IT, some arrows in a random way, tell you where shake the phone and the alarm si deactivated.
Obiouvsly the arrows are an example, can be made something of different.

split the screen in to 3 boxes - randomly name them '1', '2' and '3' - press order to deactivate alarm
just the first to cross my mind - I also don't like the idea of shaking to disable....

very nice idea! shaking should be for snooze.
very nice, just what i was looking for
Yes but, if we have an accelerometer... we have to use it!
Ok, shaking is "too dangerous" but i think tilting the diamond 3 times (in a random combination) is not too dangerous, and it makes MORE EFFECT (or the app, with 1-2-3 button tap, is a common PDA application)
....however see Here
interesting not installed yet but what IF Ill have more apps with G-sensor support for example turn on/off silent mode...one shaking and I turn on silent mode and also alarm...so think about it...

Klaxon Home Page
If anyone experiences a bug with Klaxon, please post a description of the bug, steps to reproduce the problem, and attach the \Program Files\Klaxon\Klaxon.txt file to the post.
I have discontinued development on the original UI. This alarm program is designed for a phone that has a high resolution display and sensor capabilities.
TO DO:
Support for multiple languages.
Looking for more ideas to help improve this application!
You can download Klaxon from my website.
thanks will try this.
Some users were accidentally disabling the alarm and pressing OK, and the alarm would obviously not go off.
time issue
this works perfect on my phone but for some reason it's 1 hour off!!! I have to set the alarm at 2pm for example for it to ring at 3pm!
is there a way to fix this?

Try installing this CAB- it fixes windows mobile DST problems.
Dude! that was a very quick answer! I'm trying right now....
I installed the cab file and did a soft reset, still did not work... I'm using a 12hr mode.
I have a tmobile wing and I live in -5GMT time zone (i dont know if this info is useful)

Edit: Are you GMT -5 Eastern US or GMT-5 Indiana (USA)?

Alright, I've reproduced the problem with the setup you provided-- it definitely seems to be a daylight savings time bug. I'm working on the fix now. Check back in an hour or two (or just check your AppToDate).
Version 2.0.0.20
Added Volume control option for alarm under Settings.
Fixed intermittent bug where Samsung G-Sensor exception went uncaught, causing an exception.
new version
sorry to ask, but on ur website there's only ver .19 (not.20) and was the 1hr difference fixed in the newest version?...
Thanks
I didn't post about it on my site, just redownload the link (which stays up to date) or use AppToDate.
I haven't figured out the 1 hour issue. Can you try the following:
Schedule an alarm on your phone for 3 minutes later, and then turn the screen off with the power button. After 5 minutes, if the alarm does not turn on, turn the phone screen back on. Does the alarm immediately fire?
Version 2.0.0.21
Fixed crash bug that would happen when browsing a directory filled with many sound files.
Changed the Klaxon icon to something nicer looking. (Requires restart, Windows Mobile caches icons)
The OpenFileDialog now shows the appropriate size folder icon for your resolution.

Hi, Koush.
One suggestion, if you don't mind.
When you try to pick up an alarm melody for the first time, it takes too much time before you see a file browser window. The reason - Klaxon opens \Windows folder where, as we all know, there are too many files. The owner of low performance device may think that PDA has hung.
I think the default folder should not be \Windows.
Don't know any user who stores favorite melodies in this folder.
Version 2.0.0.23
Removed the upper right default "ok" button from the OpenFileDialog. This prevents users from hitting Ok and closing the dialog when no file has been selected.
Reverted previous change to "dismiss" Windows alarms. This was causing issues on mine and other devices in that the Klaxon Alarm would never show up. random
I really like your app. I have a feature request. Is it possible to create a random alarm. For example I choose a map with songs and Klaxon randomly plays one at a alarm

Can't add alarms
Great Job!
I've a problem though. I add an alarm on Klaxon and it never shows up on the alarm list (in Klaxon itself as well). Press ok on alarm form brings me back to an empty list. Looking into Klaxon.txt file shows 0 alarms added.
I have a Kaiser with Hyperdragon III ROM. Is Klaxon ONLY for devices with G-Sensor, or if I turn off G-Sensor options (which I did) I'd be able to use it as well?? BTW, I'm using Manilla 2D. Does the TouchFlo3D integration work on TF2D as well? I tried turning it off but still can't add alarms...
I can add Windows Alarms and remove them without problems...
Thanks!!
shmilson
I have a problem with this software.. When I Shake the phone the alarm turn off rigth, but later windows popups a notification for this alarn, then I need to take the phone, tunr on it, and dismiss the notification.
Turn off the alarm shaking the phone is great, but not than great if I need to turn on the phone one minute later to do the work that should be made shaking the phone.
thank you for this software.
Ariel.

Looks nice. I will try it and give my feedback!
Possible?
Nice program you've made. But i'm wondering if its possible to launch an exe instead of playing musicfiles?
hey hey new thread for the New Year
some "link" to our previous discussion:
(before trying 1.0.3)
4) (about the G-Alarm screen that returned to today screen) no I didn't have an alarm set for this time
8) (about the "repeats") please do some checks - also try using the virtual keyboard instead of the "-/+" buttons ... as for the thing you don't understand, let's start from the beggining: A very small wav alarm (let say a two-second sound), how is it played by G-Alarm? Auto-repeat until snooze or stop? If this is the way then it is clear.
11) I understand your point about the registry...
NEW points:
1) I hope that the confirm message boxes that you say returned in 1.0.3 ARE SWITCHABLE! (I for one do NOT want an extra confirmation after I click the button or solve the quiz)
2) How can us Touch Pro users help you?
3) Don't spend too much time refining the audio player... this is an alarm clock.
5) Keep up the good work, but take a break for New Years Eve!

you are confusing me with your numbers ;-)
4) strange
8) I try everything and will fix it
-> every sound file (doesn't matter how large it is) will be repeated until you snooze/stop an alarm
2) I don't know... A friend of mine has a Sony Xperia X1, I will ask him if he has the problem, too and if he has, I think I can find the bug
if not: you have to send me your TP
3) I agree, I never wanted to change the audio player
5) who cares? there will be a new years eve next year as well ;-)
no, I really have to take a break. my "career" demands some time the next few weeks. I just wanted to release v1.0 and to fix the major bugs and then work on my doctorate
...and then you know what eh?
You need to update G-Watch with all the nice things you learned from the development of G-Alarm. (plus you need to update the icon to say "G-Watch" instead of "GWatch" for consistency... you know you are the Trademark "G-*" guy.
Hi Ageye,
thank you very much for v1 and above. This looks great and is looking always better.
Got a question though: on the today pluggin, only the next alarm is shown? we can browse them directly from it, we have to open the mnain prog ?
Thanks man .

good for me any probleme with the new version 1.03
very good job ageye
thanks a lot for your help
Settings lost???
Installed the new version. Looks indeed great.
But lost all previous wake-up settings. Correct?
Just installed version 1.03 but testing the alarm doesn't work on my trinity as i did with 0.8.3.
The sound doesn't work when i test the alarm. When i raise the curtain i see the file is playing and the volume is at 100% but the file can only be heard when i manually raise the volume with the sound+ button.
I also noticed that when i close the app the today plugin shows the names of my alarms over each other. When i click it, it turnes back to normal.
One request: i use the buttons of my phone a lot to activate items on my today screen. Started doing so when i broke my digitiser and had to wait for an replacement for two weeks. It is not possible to operate g-alarm with buttons. Can you add some basic functionality to g-alarm to react to buttons?
Arjan
The download from your website showed as v1.0.2. Is there any error?
Thanks once again for a great job.
Blackstone v1.02 - slight problem waking up this morning (not me G-Alarm!) - had to press the power button to get the G-Alarm screen on. Alarm was loud and clear but screen asleep. On hitting snooze the screen did come on again every time after snooze time was up.
Skins and wallpaper - noticed the attached error when you try and change the wallpaper from storage card files. No problem with selecting files on the device. Also can change wallpaper and buttons but seem to be stuck with grey background in the other pages. Anyway to change this with the new version?
Thank you.
