XDA w/ ppc2002 upgrade request help to 2003

Hi,
This probably the most asked question here yet I have one thing thats different to the others from what I have read.
I live in Australia, my 02 XDA ppc isnt sim locked or anything however my issue is related to the o/s I have ppc2002 I wanted to upgrade to 2003 and found a file for download and am unaware if this file is the correct file to download for upgrade to my XDA?
I also know I need a radiostack which will work on my XDa once it has been updated to 2003.

Any help would be appreciated aswell as telling me what are the neccessary files on my PC to use to flash the ppc phone edition via my USB cradle also.

Hi,
if ur phone works fine in making/receiveing calls, then all u need is a ROM upgrade. goto the kitchen at www.yorch.net and cook a ROM based on 4.00.05 ENG. select the file to be an exe file. download the file to ur PC and connect the xda to the cradle and make sure it's connected to power. run the exe and follow the instructions.

I am currently downloading the file that I 'cooked' as I type this out however one thing I was not sure about was in the string section was I to change the string to 4.00.05 as it was set on 3.16 ...
I did change it and its downloading I assume there should not be any issues.
If there is any concerns or if I did the wrong thing by that please inform me... BTW the file was made into an .exe.

Hi,
I visited www.yorch.net and 'cooked' my own ROM made it into an exe and have it downloaded right here it's a 4.05.00 rom flash but I have to ask what software can I use to flash the unit with because I do not have an SD card so I am stuck using my PC to do the flash, I have the official backup files for my ppc from 02's site so I am ok I guess if all else fails i will flash back to what I am currently using.
I wanted to flash the rom onto my ppc however what software can I use? I tried Microsofts Sync software I have 3.7 but it doesnt allow me to flash as it gives me an error message.
Message says:
"Your Device Information;
PW10A1:001
3.20
English
Your upgraded image info;
PW10A1:007
3.16
English
Please download the compatible utility and try again"
Any help would seriously be appreciated, but what is the compatible utility?

unfortunately this is a known issue with some ROMs that can't accept the exe method. you are stuck with the SD card upgrade.

Will adaptrom not work for this?

X-mail - site to download program

I need to find a site where I can down load the X-mail program from. I have two users who had XDA2 and have been upgraded to XDA2i which the program is no longer included in the boot firmware that unpacks
Please advise as I cannot find it on O2 site and support seams very limited in helping with links.

Just go out to the ftp site ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com site and download whatever rom you want. Most of these are full versions (OS, Extrom, radio). There are SD type flashes out there as well as standard gui type executables.

updating sx56

Hi there,i have sx56 from siemens,which i bought from states.the rom version on it is 3.17.03 and the radio version is 6.12. I have windows 2002 and want to upgrade to windows 2003.Can some body help explaining how to do this and explain to me step by step.Please i am new to this site and need help.Thank you for your help.

Easiest way is:
1. Downloading the ROM in EXE Format
2. Connect your device to PC via activesync
3. Run the Exe on your PC
4. Follow the instructions on the screen

One thing to note, if you are happy with the performance of the cell phone side of things, don't upgrade the radio stack rom (it's a seperate rom to the os images, also called program B). It's more trouble that it is worth

Error getting connection type

I recently downloaded WM2003 on my sx56 and was working good, but when i would use the internet it was way to slow. I decided to upgrade and accidentally installed ROM version 4.01.16 and all my settings changed to TMobile. Now my question is: I want to cook WM2003 SE again but when I do the DOS window tells me there has been an (ERROR: Get Connection Type - An excisting connection was forcibly closed by the remote host). Can someone please help with this issue please.

I Cant still downgrade my system. Can Someone help please
Can someone please tell me what to do because i already downloaded software and ROM and I still can downgrade to v.5.15. I tried everything but i cant seem to find files ending in .nb. Where do i find this files can someone please help. And if I get them what do i do, and how do i download them to my phone.

nb* files are in the downloaded ROMs. Just unzip the downloaded ROMfile and you will have it....
