On my O2 XDA Exec there's that little green battery icon up the top next to the start button. Anyone got any ideas on how to get rid of it ?
Thanks
yeah, in file explorer go to \windows\sdtartup and delete batterynfo or whatever its called. Soft reset and its gone!
Lovely job, thank you. Now no 3 second delay on every power up !

The most annoying thing ever!
The bloody app/programs window wont close!!
And not even hitting the k/b win logo > Today will work either.
Not even magic button works - only a soft reset will do it . then you are waiting till you either use the phone or venture stupidly into MyPrograms
Bloody infuriating..
anyone have a solution?
cheers guys,
LR
The phone app works best if you mark it as "Keep Alive" and "Don't show when inactive" in Magic Button. I've seen the "Programs" issue you mentioned, but selecting "Today" always gets rid of it for me.
Cheers,
Steve.
thx I will give the M. Button options a whirl!
Did you guys found a solution on the small blank square spot on the upper right hand corner of the screen where the OK button lies when using Magic Button?
Sorry - not sure what problem you are refering to...
Cheers,
Steve.
No problem with Magic Button...
For killing phone app, I found 2 utilities working...
First Xbar3...let you show the phone app and a trick to kill it.
Second one...http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJPhoneToggle works on 2003se and 2005 Qtek 9000.
Curious. Why would you want to close the Phone app?
Isn't it the whole point of the device?
If you use your pocketphone more as a pda than a phone, the phone app takes somme Mb of memory... Really closing it after a call give you the possibility to take some precious Mbytes back for running programs...
VJOkButt also has a specific option, -phclose, to close the phone after each use - very useful when assigned to the red hangup key with AEButtonPlus.
Note, closing the phone doesn't stop the phone ringing, so does save you some memory without sacrificing the phone's functionality, but it does cause a minor incompatibility - trying to dial from Contacts may crash out.
However, in day to day use I don't recommend closing the phone unless you're really tight on mem.

Actually, it is not a problem but an aesthetic concern on my part. I am not using any skin program. The last time I tried Magic Button, if I am at the today screen with no open application, the location on the upper right hand corner where the "OK" button is shows a blank square. I was just wondering if I am the only one who had this oddity.
I have no skinning soft and I don't have a blank square... The color of that part of the taskbar, when nothing written, is the same than the rest of the bar. But I read stuffs like yours on other forums...

I just tried Magic Button again, and no blank square. HOOOORRRRRAYYYY! I wonder what made that skin problem in the first place...

I can't seem to find this option in Magic Button. Can you please direct me on how?
Need help! After installing magic button, when i run the phone the icon at the top next to the start button looks exactly like the phone icon. But after a while it changes to a system file icon, as if it cant find the correct phone icon any more.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling magic button. Doesnt help! The only thing that fixes this is reflashing the ROM, and installing magic button again. But then after a while the icon changes again back to a system looking one!!
PITA! Help someone, please
I get the same thing. Unfortunately I haven't a clue how to resolve it, but at least you know it's not just you!
Anyone got any ideas?
Wow...after reading i just checked it out myself...and its true...haha...didn't even notice till now, and i have no clue when it started to affect the icon.
Everything still works tho, and i guess i can live it, i mainly use MagicButton for the real close function and the bat bar up top, not as an app manager/switcher.
I just flashed back to 1.08 ship - then flashed back to 2.17 basic...
Installed all my stuff, everything is perfect! UNTIL a soft reset! Then the icon is messed up!
Does anyone know where the icon cache is? Or where to edit in the registry for the icons that magic button uses??
There has got to be a fix for this
Go to Settings->Personal->Menus and select 'Phone' as one of the items...the phone icon will stay in the Magic Button bar...
you need to do a soft reset too....and then start Magic Button again
Ah Ha!!! Magic Button looks in the start menu for the icons!
Brilliant!
As long as the phone is listed on the start menu, then magic button displays it correctly! If you remove phone from start menu, then it shows up in magic button as a missing icon (system looking icon)!!
Thanks for the help!
So how do I remove those little icons down there? Looks like they are not part of "Today" screen (which can ofcourse be customized), I can't remove them there.
There must be some kind of registry tweak to remove that.
Battery status is completely unusable to me becouse track battery status other way on the Today screen.
nevermind i found out how to do it.
just remove init_tray from windows\startup and thats it!
Well i did just that and it works. but i noticed one not so good side effect. When i press down on the d-pad. Select the last thing on my today screen and press down again. The selection color (box, whateveryou want to call it) disapears and does not come back when i press up. I have to use the touch screen to get the selection color back.
Removing the status bar
When I checked the windows/startup folder there was no tray_init listed on my XDA Orbit.
However, I renamed the windows\TrayAp.exe by putting my initials in front as follows -
windows\ahTrayAp.exe
I then did a soft reset and the tray and icons no longer appear.
I have reset a few times and it the stus bar still doesn't appear
I have managed to remove the Wireless Manager Icon from system tray at the bottom of the Today Screen Using a hack from my old Universal.
In the Process, the battery Icon also disappeared, which is good ( i wanted it that way). Basically, i don't need the tray at the bottom at all.
The Problem is that the Battery Icon keeps coming back on in the tray by itself, I don't know why or how. But a softrest will make it disappear again, but it will come back on again.
I don't know what triggers it to come back on. Is there away to make it disappear FOREVER
Thanks
ok here is the deal ....
I would suggest you use some time the search function or refer to that link and you may have success in your problem.
Greetings,
Falk
Look in your \Windows\Start-up directory. There are a list of stuff there, and one of them is the battery (I think the file name has the word 'batt' or something like that, or it has a battery icon), move this file to other location (e.g. back it up, just incase) and softreset your device.
Hey,
I have an HTC HD and love it. But I have a problem with screen.
When I push at the middle of the screen, it perceives the command wrong and acts like i push at the bottom of the screen. And when I push start button, it acts like I push the clock.
Aligning the screen from Settings menu works but only for 5 or 10 minutes, then it break itself down again.
What can I do ?
Thank you !

ok maybe I sound stupid, but how the F***K to use it.
I have the same problem as mentioned above.
I downloaded it on to my pc then I put the zip file on my Touch HD straight into my root and even on my sd-card.
Whats next to do, when I clic on it it goes to zip mobile, at least in left corner of the screen it says so. I see a + mark and when I clic on it it colapse and then an other + shows up (CalibrationData folder) and then beneath CalibrationData.reg file.
So any smart guy or girl can help me out.

I've had nothing like this happen before, and not heard of it happening before, then all of a sudden three instances (like a bus).
I'll try this calibration data but my phone would let me calibrate now it won't, it's just gotten worse!
