Secure Internet and WAP problems - Networking

Hi all,
I have a Qtek S100, but I tried another machine also. There is a problem with the browser I think. Also I tried Netfront 3.2. So, the internet and Wap workin on Wifi, or Activesinc. I can read the news, etc. There are some pages, like wap.cib.hu or wap.yahoo.com or www.t-zones.hu, etc, what need autentication. I got error message at login or error loading page, mimetype error. It works fine on a cheap cellphone. I would like to use my pda as I used my phone before.
Thanks!

msn messenger problems now

hey guys
now im having probelms with msn messenger.
i use WAP to connect as i get free WAP minutes from genie/o2, iv set it up according to the instructions from genie/o2 and browsing web pages works fine.
however when i come to sign in to msn, it gives me a message sayin "Cannot locate the Proxy server" so i input the Proxy server's IP address into the Edit My Proxy Server menu in the Connections, that genie/o2 gave me and it gives me the same message.
any ideas?
thanks
you cant only use basic internet on pay&go.. you have to have a contract to use msn messenger or anyhting else that isnt http
i could use msn fine when i had my XDA 1 and i had exactly the same SIM card
is Is possible to do it as I have the same sim card and it works.
Although it WONT work at all through GPRS, only CSD.
However, recently ive been having problems signing in myself. saying "Logon to MSN messenger service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
This is rubbish cause it works fine from my pc and its worked before. aaaaaaaaargh!

Yahoo Mobile not working with Pocket IE on k-Jam

Hi,
I've been trying to access Yahoo Mobile (http://wap.oa.yahoo.com) via my k-Jam, and I always get a "Cannot Connect" popup from Pocket IE.
It doesn't matter whether I go through WiFi or GPRS -- the result is the same (cannot connect).
However, when I try using a different web browser (not pocket IE) it _works_ (and I can do regular http get's to the Yahoo Mobile site, etc.)
Secondly, if I try through a proxy server (from Pocket IE) it works.
Has anyone seen this (or know what might be happening)?
Not sure, as I haven't tried it, but instead of http:// try wap:// or wsp://
Tried wsp with no luck
Yep, I'd already tried wsp:// (wap:// doesn't work on k-Jam).
The problem gets stranger still: If I explicitly insert the IP address for wap.oa.yahoo.com in the URL it works (but this doesn't help much, because the home page contains links that use the explicit host name).
But, as I said, every other application on the k-Jam can properly resolve the hostname and connect. It's something "different" about the way Pocket IE does DNS resolution I'm guessing.
I'm not absolutly sure, but I think Yahoo Mobile is compressed, that's why PIE cannot render it.

Wap Problem

hii ,i have htc touch cruise, i connect normally to the internet via WAP, but most pages won't appear :S ( only small pages like google appear)
the internet explorer or opera give error messages ( cannot be displayed ... )
am in lebanon using WAP- ALFA....
any one have an idea
i have heard of a patch is it true and what may be the solution for problem
i think that's what wap is
it's a subset of html which never made it really
and only those few pages which still
support it will load over an old wap connection
i would look into getting a real gprs setup

also my friends have diffrenet phones but same service and works just well ..dunoo there's somethin confusing here
maybe you dident use the same settings as the old phone and as your friends then
also i would try another browser if you use PIE as it's really the worst possible pda browser

Can't Access Secure Sites Through T-Mobile

Hi,
Just bought my TD2, and overall happy with it... I started testing it out and noticed that the browser cannot access any secure sites (including but not limited to: ANY webmail like Yahoo or Gmail, school login, or internet banking site).
I am a T-Mobile UK contract user (Flext). When I first turned on the phone I let it automatically configure for internet use. For general browsing that worked fine, but wouldn't let me access the sites mentioned above.
I called T-Mobile and, though they tried to be helpful, never figured out the problem. I know this is not a general T-Mobile issue because I was able to access these sites on my older phone, and I know it's not a browser issue because when connected through Wi-Fi (to my home network) it's perfectly fine.
So - if anybody has had or heard of this issue before, please help! There must be SOME setting or option that I'm missing, that prevents me from accessing secure sites!
I have the standard ROM, which includes Opera 9.5 build 16277, and Internet Explorer (of indeterminate version). Both browsers have this issue, in different ways: Internet Explorer claims the website doesn't exist:
"Cannot find 'http://mail.google.com/mail/x/?source=mobileproducts&dc=gorganic'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct."
Opera 9.5 does one better and crashes: "We're Sorry... A problem has occurred with Opera9.exe"... followed by the option to send an error report to Microsoft.
As I said before it's NOT a browser problem because when connected to my home Wi-Fi network, both browsers work fine in secure sites.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wassim
The T-Mobile auto configuration puts an entry under Proxy Servers which you need to remove (go to "Settings, All Settings, Connections, Connections, T-Mobile Internet, Manage Existing Connections, Proxy Settings" and check "connect direct to the internet"). Your problems should now go away and Opera shouldn't crash any more (you may need to soft reset before this takes effect).
Thank you Pete... I can't believe it was that simple, but it worked! Funny thing is, I could have sworn that option was checked off previously. But I did it again, and soft reboot, and now I can access any site I damn well please!
I'll let the guys at T-Mobile know in case some other poor guy has the same issue.
Cheers,
Wassim
