SD Card Flashing - Card Key Invalid - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Good day. I just got my XDA from a friend and he flashed it out the T Mobile Rom. I wanted to flash it to the original state (which I already got at ROMKitchen) and I have already downloaded the XDATools
I went in to the bootloader v5.17 and tried to flash using my 512MB SD and when I select CEROMBoot to SD it states SD "Card Key Invalid"
Please help me out. Thanks!

Help ;(... XDArit.exe with Wallaby Patch Tool

Help!!!
I was tryting to run program A offered by O2. up to 2% telling me there's a USB error!!!
And now xda is dead. Therefore I am here.
I have a bootloader 5.17
I wanted to use XDArit.exe to copy wallaby patch tool into my sd card to perform rom upgrdade. However, XDArit.exe is telling me
"Failed to open device \\.\PhysicalDrive 11\"
I am running Windows XP. And I have tried on another PC, same response.
Please help...
I've also download a thing call XDAtools.exe
However, couldn't get that to run...
Thanks in advance....
Do i need to swap card with 5.17 patch and rom image???
I found a version of XDAarit.exe that now works, not sure about the version, but it's 1.4mb
Downloaded from...
http://givemebeer.com:8080/warez/XDA/xdarit.exe
I have 1X32mb sd card and 1x64mb mmc card.
i backed up the 5.17 .nb2 patch into 32mb sd card
and the rom image from rom kitchen to 64mb mmc card.
I then put the 32mb (5.17 patch .nb2) into the xda.
It booted up...
I then select remove the 32mb card and insert 64mb rom image card into the xda, then i select "restore sd"
However, it says, "Invalid rom image"
I then press continue, however, it would just bring me back to the main menu.
If I didn't remove the 32mb card and do a "restore sd"....
I'll say restore sucessful. However, how do i install the rom image into my xda?
Many thanks.
Now worked fine.
Now it's ok.
I insert the 32mb card at boot, changed after got into the "sd restore menu"
For the 64mb card, in XDArit (1.4mb version) tick the after 5.17 box (for 64mb card (rom image) only, 32mb (5.17 fix) not require to tick)
Then it works!!
Thanks for listening, hope that it can someone somedays.
does it say ''Patching', 'Patch Done!' after booting the patchloader?
Yes, it'll say patch done after that....

Help please.. SD Card flashing

My PC's activesync crashed and hanged while flashing the ROM. Now the xda is stuck with Updating screen.
Can someone please tell me which file to download from Jeff's kitchen (nk.nb1 or nk.nbf or anything else) and how to write it to SD card for flashing.
I tried to write nb1 and nbf both, using xda-tools, but it is not copied in the format required by the bootloader. In fact, in either case it is copied as a file which is not identified by the bootloader (my version is 5.15). boootloader starts with GSM OK message, and does not give me option to flash the ROM.
Can someone please please tell me how to do it?
you need SD card writer or a SD backup from another XDA.

Click to collapse
Thanks.
I was about to go to the service centre for rom image from another xda, but I decided to give it a try using usb cradle, and ran the original upgrade program. It came out with error and asked me to soft reset the device and try again, which I did, and it worked. I now have a working xda!

its gone wrong.......

well i have just hit a problem returning my xda to its original rom version after trying out the new one....
I followed the instuctions word by word... putting the old rom on my sd card, booting it in wallaby, letting it finish and the disabling the battery and finally turning it back on with the battery enabled....
the downgrade completed without any issues.
now when i switch the xda on its going straight into the wallaby boot mode even if the memory card is taken out..
how the hell do fix this.
if I put the memory card into my pc it requests that it needs formatting so it can be used... if i do this and put the rom on the card nothing happens when I put in the xda to try and restore it..
please help as Ive only had my xda for 3 days...
I take it you have a MMC card reader? you need to format the MMC card so windows will not read it (which by the sounds you can do) and asks for it to be formatted, once you have done this you can now load a ROM on to the card with XDA Tools and write it via the bootloader to your XDA, this will (you hope) fix said problem you have.
followed this and now fully working again.
cheerz all.

Restoring roms with Wallaby 5.14

I got hold of a XDA with malfunctioning roms. I get the diagnose and SD flash utilities. nothing else
I can flash to a SD and when i reboot the unit flash the roms with the corrupt data.
I freshly baked a rom in the kitchen, wrote it to the SD card but the XDA unit does not see the rom images. The bootloader is too old someone told me.
Is there anyone ( in the Netherlands? ) who uses 5.14 that can flash the image to my SD so i can work from there on?
did you try the exe method or the XDAtools ?
FORMAT SD?
I tried the tools.
When i get the flashed RAM out of the XDA and put it in a cardwriter the computer says that the card has not been formated and wants to format it.
As soon as the formatted SD is put into the XDA the card is not recognised and the CE boot option is not available.

you should do the opposit thing ... using XDAtools, copy the ROM .nbf file to the SD card ... put the SD card into the XDA, if it asks to format the card press NO ... goto the boot loader and it will ask you to press action to start flashing
Flashing SD
I have a freshly baked ROM from the romkitchen on the SD.
I inserted it in the XDA, but i see no way to get into the bootscreen and get the file flashed into the ROM.
Probably because the bootloader is a wrong version. A person told me i should have 5.15 to do this. I have version 5.14
Rien
Have you tried copying the .nbf file directly to the xda ROM using XDAtools ?
If worked, it will update your boot loader to 5.15
In case not, in the XDAtools\binaries directory on your PC, run this
pnewbootloader bootloader_5_15.nb0
then try the SD method
Communications
The problem is that the XDA has no other way to access the data then through the SD. There is no active sync of infra red available.
The data has to be readable by Wallby 5.14. Flashing a rom done by the kitchen requires a wallaby loader higher than 5.14 which i do not have.
My request was to find someone who could flash his working rom using wallaby 5.14 to my SD. This data should be readable by my XDA.
As soon as this has happend my XDA should be working again and i could upgrade my loader to version 5.15.

CHECKSUM does not match

Hi there,
I have searched for this problem and found various suggestions involving xdarit etc but none seem to help.
I am getting the above message following a ROM flash, using sd card writen with xdarit. I have tried 3 different roms all producing the same result. Originally tried flashing with a w2003 rom but would be grateful to get anything working!!
The xda will now only show bootloader and some checks.
Wallaby bootloader 5.15
Anyone able to help?
Kind regards
Have you tried another SD-Card? MAybe there is a problem...
Flashed my device about 50 times, and had sometimes (about 2 or 3 times) the same problem.
Reflashing worked then fine...
Stefan
Thanks
I have tried anther sd card with the same result.
FYI I am formating sd cards FAT before writing rom to them
Could I be using the wrong rom?
Kind regards
maybe a corrupt file sometimes files taken from the internet gets damaged on their way to you

Q Should xda be on mains power when flashing or does it make no difference ?
yes it should have power from the cradle or the power connetor
Thanks
I am downloading another rom will try again.
Kind regards
Hi
I have just downloaded a new rom and written to sd with xdarit, flashed and received following message again.
"CHECKSUM is not correct"
Could this have anything to do with the formatting of the sd card?
Anyone have any more suggestions
Kind regards
should not as far as i know iso tool should give the sdcard it's own format which only the xda can read
and of cause the sd card have to be 64MB or over a 32MB card will not do
