I downloaded Newsbreak today as a substitute for Avantgo, which is not WM5 friendly yet. Newsbreak looks really good in theory but I cannot sync it with activesync or wirelessly. Any ideas please?
Colin
I use it without problem with UMTS connection
Hi thanks for the reply. I assume, though, that you are having to pay to download the Newsbreak updates? I want to do it free over activesync or wirelessly via my network. This is supposed to be possible. Anyone know what settings etc?
Have got it sync'ing over wireless network now! It's excellent!

Does anyone know about the SyncML capabilities of the Wizard? I need to sync it using linux and multisync/kitchensync.
And hopefully, with its WLAN module, it wil finally be possible so sync a businessphone using linux without hours and hours of try and error.
If the manual is right, the Wizard supports only ActiveSync and has no SyncML implementation. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone who successfully syncronized his evolution/kontact application with ActiveSync of the wizard?
Hi there,
There's no SyncML functionality in activesync, It's Microsoft, they don't like openstandards.
You can use the synthesis syncml client (http://www.synthesis.ch/ )
and try it 30 days.
We use it to sync with Novell GroupWise, works very well!
Greetings,
Wouter
Thanks eendje. I searched for more applications like this and found http://www.sync4j.org/. Sounds like a GPL Version which works with Windows Mobile, too. Experiences are appreciated, but I think I will try it out and post mine. If it does not work, it will be an expensive tryout. :?

Hello Afroman.
Did you have any luck using sync4j. I have tried to use it but only get error (on my BA). I have used synthesis syncML (Pro editioN) and it works very well with mobical.net. Check it out.

Greetings, newbie here.. Just got my Cingular 8125 last week, and i've been trying to figure out how to used OTA Activesync over GPRS/EDGE with my laptop.. Is there any feasable way do do this?
I usually have a couple programs open on the 8125, Agile msgr, a RSS reader, weather apps, etc.. a lot of stuff that checks over GPRS/EDGE for updates etc.. but everytime i sync via USB with my laptop and Activesync, it hoses my GPRS/EDGE connection because of it having to use my laptop's network connection.
I'd like to sync with the laptop over GPRS/EDGE if possible.. if there's a app I need to purchase or whatever that's fine.. I'm running WinXPPro on the Laptop.. and WM5 on the 8125 of course..
As of 4.0, ActiveSync won't sync OTA. I think the only exception to this is if you're synching with an Exchange server. Only thing I've been able to find that will give me OTA sync is WebIS's Plaxo sync and, right now, that only syncs contacts. Check out their page for WebIS Mobile Sync
The only thing I can think of is installing kerio mail server. This acts as a mailserver and I succesfully synced my windows mobile with it. The only thing is that you need to configure your own mail server and thats not totaly what you are looking for...
hi guys,
I use my own laptop on our works network. I have Activesync on the laptop and can sync my XDAIIs with the laptop no problem.
however, as all our email and calendar information is stored in "Public Folders" in Outlook (on our network somewhere I guess?) , I want to be able to sync my work diary and email across to my PDA, and back again - I only go into the office a couple of days a week, so it'd be great to effectively carry it around with me.
However - Can't do it!
I don't know a great deal about the information that might help you, but my laptop uses XP Pro SP2, and MS Office 2003, and work uses MS Exchange Server.
Sorry if this is a cr*p explanation, but if you think you can help, ask ANYTHING you want!
Thanks in advance!
Steve
... and not a counter!!!
hi guys,
i need a connection monitor for windows mobile 6 that can show me witch program (like a web-browser, mail client, weather plugin and so on) are connected to wich ip AND port
may be you know the TCPView from sysinterna... oh hm... microsoft *g*
i've searched all over the world but only found these stupid traffic counters/monitors
i must be out there - so please help me finding it
thanks and cheers!
Perhaps PocketLan from z2 is the software you are looking for...
It has a portmonitor and shows the current ip,port and if its connected or listening.

Hi folks, i have been searching for a while but to no avail and was hoping for some advice.
I dont really know much when it comes to mobile devices and networking etc, but what i would like to know is that if it was possible to be able to have a link to my office computers/network via a mobile device such as a pda? Also would this be a "live" link that if i was on the road, i would be able to access info in the office computer and download/upload to and from it?
Any info on this would be very much appreciated and also if this was possible then what kinda hardware/software would i have to get for it to all work.
Thanks for any help

Thanks for the reply chris.
How would you connect to the office network and access the files if i'm not at the office?
Thanks again
You need to install the client for either of these on your office machine (if your IT bods havent totally locked down your machine) and then access the web interface from home via your mobile or home PC.
You wont actually be connecting to your office network - just a local web connection to your PC which of course must be left on.
You might have issues with your corporate firewall - so try them all. GOTOMYPC is not free however.
PM me if you need more help.
