BlackBerry Connect cab from MDA Compact ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I promised someone to post the BBC cab from the latest T-Mobile Netherlands ROM for the MDA Compact to try on the Wizard. I don't think it will work, but here it is. I could not find the thread I mentioned it in and anyway, in this way more people can perhaps benefit from it.

God - if this works I will go and bet a HTC Wizard or MDA Verio from T-mobile tomorrow. Anyone tried it yet?
Scott

1 ) This is a WM2003SE client, and NOT a WM5 client, so cannot be used on Vario or Wizard.
2 ) This client connects to blackberry.net instead of mail.t-mobile.net, (small mistake by T-Mobile) so needs to be hacked first if you want to use it for BB Connect in the Netherlands. TMO commented they would update the latest MDA III and Compact Roms before November 18 to correct this mistake.

I already thought that it would not work on WM5, but someone wanted to try anyway, that's why I posted it. Tough luck for push email through BB users I guess, unless they have a Magician.

If tried - but it didn't works. The installation faild with the error "Unable to install. Uncertified system software detected."
Is there any way to hack it? Or does anyone know when the blackberry client for WM5 will be available?

Hello,
i am also interested in upgrading my 64Mb XDA I to 2003 Version.
Nalye: How does the Upgrade worked? Do you have any problem in using or installing? Do you have any problems using the upgraded device with german O2? How about the Home-Zone Display and whole stability?
Thanks in advance!
Miwu
a cellphone company depend on the radiostack they dont know if you connect from a nokia phone or a xda with what ever rom
as long as you set it up right
@rudegar
Thanks for answering. German o2 uses a special application with the XDA, called "Home Zone Status", whats implemented in the original ROM provided by O2. With this application you get a special sign at the top of the screen if your device is in an defined area called HomeZone. The data used by this application must be provided by the gsm-part of the device, but i think, that the T-Mobile-Rom does not support the transfer of this informations because german T-Mobile does not provide this feature.
Does anyone experienced any solution for this problem?
homezone
i dn´t know ´bout a special program for displaying the hz-status, but i´m about to call o2 for an application to fix it.
the rom i cooked works well, but as you know every data got lost (about 350 sms or so) :x
try to cook it at www.yorch.net - coz stefan´s kitchen seems to be a lil´bit slow

New Austrian T-Mobile Rom available

Hi all,
there's a new ROM-Update available for Austrian Magicians aka MDA compact (Version 1.12.01 - btw, the first one that TMA offers).
You can download the 42MB update here directly from T-Mobile Austria (german site).
But take care, the update includes a new bug: After installing the update, it won't be possible to add trustworthy certificates (as used by ActiveSync when remotely to a server).
Greetings,
BGK
This "bug" is no problem -> the tool SDA-UNLOCKER will remove this lock, you can found it on www.mobilejoe.de
Cheers
Gerhard
Hi,
I'm about to buy a TMA MDA compact, and as I'm kind of an update-o-holic, the first thing I'm gonna do is update the hack out of this nice little device
I've read quite a lot of threads in various forums, but still a lot of questions remain.
1.
there are several 'versions' of the ROM update, which one is the "best", or - in other words - which one is the one I should install ?
(or there country differences ?)
2.
before upgrading, I'd like to backup everything that is by default on the new, fresh MDAc. Can I use Sprite to do so ? If yes, are there any special settings that have to be used ?
3.
I'd also like to get rid of the TMA-branding. Do I have to perform the necessary steps right while turning it off the very first time ?
(turn it on and before it installs the software, perform a soft reset)
If so, what do I have to do after the softreset?
(though I'm pretty experienced when it comes to PCs, I'm a noob WRT pocket PCSs...)
I've read several posts about Autoinstaller (1.61).
Do you advice to use this tool, and if yes, is there anything I should know before starting it ?
(I've searched, but couldn't find a real manual for the tool)
4.
as I've understood it so far, the Bigstorage_update is kind of a OS-hack, which allows you to access memory that you can normally not access.
Does that mean that you loose the data that this extended ROM normally contains, or can you only access the free available space that's left (more safe) ?
Is there any noob-compatible step-by-step instruction how to _safely_ update the MDAc to the latest version (incl. all side-effects that might occur).
Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it !
regards
netwolf

Blackberry Connect on Magician

Hi,
Can anyone advise on how to get Blackberry Connect onto my IMate Jam?
It is still running the ROM Pak that came with it and is on Vodafone?
Thanks,
Dave
Windows Mobile 2003 Push mail
Unfortunately i'm not really into blackberry, but i know that windows mobile 2003 devices (such as your JAM) are not compatible with pushmail technology. Microsoft released the MSFP for Windows Mobile 5 devices...
I believe the latest t-mobile uk rom has blackberry connect as part of it. did you check with vodafone to see if they have a bb rom for the vpa-compact?
I realy interested in this topic...
Does anyone knows is there's posiblity to use my magician to connect with blackberry...?
i really2 happy if my magician can being use for my blackberry SIM card, rather than with the other Blackberry handheld that i had...
Does anyone can give me a clue..?
YES Im Using T-Mobile's Latest MDA Compact ROM (Version 1.13) can be downloaded at their website, or go here if you lazy to search 8)
http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/download_manager_mda_com.html
Inside the ROM has already provided Blackberry support. I havent tried them, though. 8)
Anybody success with it, pls share your experience.
i can't install this ROM to my XDA mini.
the installation process said that country ID error.
anyone can help me to prevent this country ID error ? maybe i should unlock it first but i dont know how...
or maybe anyone have the nk.nbf, ms.nbf and radio.nbf files in another words "the extracted ROM"

Blackberry Connect Software for D810

Currently I am using ROM version 1.23.751.8 from Dopod Taiwan (CHT9100). This is the update after the one that enabled GPS. However, ever since I upgraded to this ROM version Blackberry Connect stopped working. I have tried .16, .52, and .54 version of Blackberry Connect software but none worked.
I read somewhere that it needs to match specific AKU version. I am guessing the ROM I use is a AKU version (OS 5.1.465, Build 15673.3.3.1) newer than .54 version of Blackberry Connect can work with.
I was able to find mention of Blackberry Connect officially endorse on Dopod's Asia site. However, since I don't have a device from Dopod Asia, I am unable to download Blackberry Connect software for D810.
Can someone upload it?
Hi,
I need the same.
Someone could provide it?
Thanks in advance.
Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294218
I read that thread by cornholio - that's how I figure I needed a "matching" Blackberry Connect version.
I am not daring enough to perform the hack mentioned in that particular thread in fear of messing up and brick my Trinity.
I was hoping to try the one Dopod put on their web site. My thought is that if Dopod puts on the web site, it must work find with the latest ROM version without the need to perform that hack mentioned above.
I hope RIM release a new version of the software. Otherwise I'll have to bite the bullet and cancel my Blackberry subscription. I am currently running Direct Push and it works as good as RIM's push mails. Besides, if I can't wait anylong, I can cancel Blackberry service and save me $5 per month on Cingular.

TyTn downgrade needed with MSN

Hello,
I have a friend's phone here. He asked me to upgrade it in the past. I upgraded and thought everything was ok but my customer called me saying that I upgraded it to WM6 and that he needs a WM5 with MSN.
He says that as he uses MacOS WM6 won't fit for him just WM5. Is this true or is he outdated?
Doe anyone have a link for a good WM5 with MSN? (English ok, Protuguese preferred).
Thanks in advance,
