Hi there,
I have subscribed and installed pocket msn with hotmail on my S100 and a msn email address. With my always on gprs connection and connected to msn messenger I receive new "emails" (not instant messages) in realtime which is cool. BUT there is no audio notifications on it !!! Only the enveloppe indicating new messages on my today screen. My question to developpers : Would it be easy to developpe a routine that run permanently and checks the state of this enveloppe and tells with an audio file when new mail is in ?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I don't understand what is the difference between these 2 icones in Pocket Outlook. (see attachment)
somebody can explain to me... i find nothing in doc or on microsoft website.
thanks,
Garou
Two mail icons
I have often wondered the same thing. From their behavior I beleive the one with the hand connects the PDA to the mail server and then just checks the mail server for new mail and grabs new mail headers. The icon with the 2 envelopes seems to download any new mail with attachements according to policy and send any qued mail.
If you're just using POP accounts, these icons don't dramatically differ in funcionality, but if you're using an Exchange activesync mobile profile, the first button will connect you to the server and continue checking for new messages depending on your profile settings, and the second will just send/receive your mail once only.
hi,
i bought new magacian, and was really impressed by it.
as i had xda whom i could pop yahoo, and other accounts easily.
but now on magacian i m able to send and receive only text messages
but not able to retrieve any pop accounts like yahoo or gmail
with the same settings....
what shall i do....
plz help.
My Magician picks up pop mail without any problems. Maybe try checking you can really connect to the intertnet by going to google first.
my gprs is working alright and i can browse any site and check my mails from IE.
but not from this...
also my pop settings are correct as i had with my old xda on which it was working fine...
god knows whats the problem.
I had this problem - try receiving your mail whilst connected to your PC (with internet connection) first and then disconnect and try via GPRS - make sure that you do not have any unsent mail in your outbox first (probably wont send via your default ISP on your desktop and hang the connection) - Good luck...
OB.
I have this problem:
i use POP3 to get the Mails from my googlemail account.
If i have luck, my MDA received one of the Mails (not all Mails arrive). If i answer to this mail, the MDA delete the original mail from the incoming folder! Is this normal???
I have a MDA Vario without branding.
if anybody knows a solution or other good Mail Cliets for Windows Mobile 5, please let me know!
Same thing happened to me, the way I solved it was too set up a new google mail address and change the settings of your main address to forward a copy of each email to that adress. Then use the new one just for your phone, a bit messy but it works.
Thank you! I will try set. And another Pro of this is that i can download the mail to my laptop too.
Hm i tried that with the second mail account, but the same problem, and its realy evil: ALL Mail in incoming is deleted if you send a mail.
Hey.
I have wanted to use the built in email client of my XDA2i with my wi fi connection. At the moment, no matter what I seem to do, I can't get it to connect (send or recieve in anyway). I have downloaded nPOP and it works ok, however there is a problem.
I want to have wifi connected all the time when I am in my home, and have the check interval at 1 minute (or something liket that) so I can be alerted to emails when they arrive... however, although NPOP does this, the alert is a system event sound, which i always have turned off as I don't like having them activated on my phone.
So I wanna use INBOX in order to download and send email. And this will also allow me to set a tone for my NEW EMAIL MESSAGE and will display when I get one like a text alert when I recieve a new email.
Can anyone clue me in as to how to use INBOX with wifi?
Hope this somewhat round about question makes sense...

Further points...
Sorry, just to throw in. I've been examining the differences between INBOX on my xda2i, and the settings with nPOP and even the INBOX program on my HPC Jornada 720. The only difference is that inbox on my xdadoes NOT have LAN as a connection option, where as n pop does and inbox on my HPC does too.
Is it even POSSIBLE to use inbox on xda2i with wifi/lan connection??

Hi folks,
Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere.
For some reason, I have my push email set up to connect to my mail2web account. However, when I receive new email in it, the Messaging plugin on the Today screen doesn't show anything, although it works fine when I receive new POP3 or SMS messages.
Any ideas?
