What is being displayed on the screen?
Are you able to use your XDA at all?
Will it still connect to your PC via ActiveSync?
the answer to all those questions is no....
no activesync
no using the xda
the only thing that is being displayed is the startup o2 sign and in the left hand bottom corner it says
g
r
s 31.85834 (or some number)
and then it goes to a blank white page.....
it keeps swapping back and forth from these two pages
thanks
jay
Are you able to get into the bootloader?
press and hold to on/off button while soft-resetting.
Do you have a SD card reader?
Also, where did you get the xda from, just incase!?!
im gonna try the bootloader thing....but what do i do if it works (im waiting for it to charge up abit before i do that) although i dont think it is charging
i dont have a sd card yet....
o2 online....i have insurance, i think (hope) they will change it....but im going away tommorow for 4 weeks....and im stuck without a phone...so i wanted to know if there was a way that i could reinstall it again...
thanks again york for your help
jay
hey yeah i can get to bootloader
wallaby bootloader v5.22
what do i do?
it siad there is a gsm erorr?
thanks
jay
Right, well it's a start, unfortunatly without an SD card reader there is nothing that I know that will fix this problem, as you cannot use Activesync without the os loading.
I've had a quick look around the forums but all related articles on fixes suggest the need for a card reader.
When you did the upgrade, did you remember to remove the power supply first?.
It seems that leaving the power supply attached while upgrading the radio causes an internal configuration error.
If no one else here can help with your problem, you will have to send it back to O2, they will replace it for new, however, if they do kick up a fuss, remind them of the Sale of Goods Act (Amendment) 2003.
Sorry, that's about as much as I can do mate. Good luck, and don't be but off the xda by this problem, I got mine of ebay and broke the screen within a week, had to fork out another £130 for a new screen, but I'm very glad I did.
ok thanks york......
i will give o2 a call.....
thanks

Great now press the Calender button, that should put you in the GSM
bootloader mode. From there run some of the options ect.., try changing your band to 900 and see if that helps also try turning the radio off as that might let your XDA bootup.
hi....i tried that and it kep saying....
gsm turn ON fail!!
any more ideas?
thanks

Urgent Request (XDA II Locked, Total Noob , Please help!)

Hi all,
first off all i'd like to say Hi to everyone as im new here.
Also id like to thank everyone for readingmy problems
Any way i purchased an XDA II about a Week ago from Ebay its really my fault as in the item description it said there was a problem with the phone it wont start as its locked.
The phone goes to a Blue screen after you ON it and do the screen configiration etc
The blue screen has Cognito on it saying 'Warning this Devcie is Locked'
then under it:
'If you are installing from the MMC card please wait.
Otherwise, either insert the MMC card and do a cold boot, or contact Cognito to unlock the device.
Im not sure what this means and if i leave the phone for a while or type it from it takes me to a password screen in white with the keyboard on it.
----
Im not sure what to do if you can help me you will save me alot of money otherwise do i just chuck the phone away also
ive tried a Hard Reset by clicking the POWER BUTTON, RESET KET.
nothing happens just the phone loads up and makes me Calibrate the screen.
Ive tried this process while also pressing the D-PAD i get a screen with Serial with V1.06 i think at the bottom
i dont really know how i can know if its Hard resetted.
So please peolple take a Minute to help me thanks alot.
may work not too sure though

XDA Exec questions.

Hi i have just installed the lastest rom for my XDA exec, v1.13.188. However after the install i have a few questions.
1) Where can i get the gprs monitor from as its gone?
2) Where has the 02 symbol gone from the top taskbar
3) Where has the battery icon gone from the same place?
Thanks.
Im new to this but I have just done the ROM upgrade.
Did you do the basic install ?
After the upgrade I soft reset my PDA and got the o2 logo back.
Has the batery icon gone small and at the bottom of the screen? Mine did this. I went into settings :- today :-Items and ticked BatteryNFO and it comes back.
As for the GPRS stuff I got this on a disk with o2 and had to put it back on. But its rubish anyway. so I took it off again.
Hope this helps.
Like I say am new to this.
Yes i did the basic update, i cant find the cd with the file on for the gprs.
I will try the today options for the Battery info.
I have soft reset the phone and i still dont have an 02 logo, strange.
I'm sorry I could not be any more help.
Try here http://www.my-xda.com/xdaexec_soft3.html you can download the application and the OS (if you are not upto date) - Mike

Remove o2 rom and replace with an Orange rom

Could someone pleas help!
I have an Xda11 (the one without the pull down keyboard). i have unlocked it and am using an Orange sim card! could someone please tell me how i can remove all o2 pictues (ie when you do a soft reset the o2 picture appears) and replace it with an orange picture.
The other annoying things is when i use the phone the o2 logo shows in the background and would like to be able to use an orange pic or even better a personal picture.
cheers and thanks for your help in advance!
Regards
Daddy H
the one way you can do this is do a hard reset, when the xda starts to install all its o2 stuff do a soft reset and bam! you have a blank xda
no branding at all....its half way there

ME TOO!!!
I have had exactly the same happen to me, it appears that O2 are total amateurs when it comes to supplying ROM upgrades. not only that but you will find that the support no. on the site actually takes you nowhere. I sent mine back to the supplier and after trying to reflash the ROM they were unsuccessful and so i am now waiting on a new XDA. Dont bother with O2 as they were no help at all to me, firstly i couldnt get through at all and after 2 weeks of emailing them every day i got a response telliung me how to put the unit into boot loader mode (no help at all!!!!!)
Good luck to you in getting this issue resolved, i only hope that you have it insured like myself.
Once again O2 you are indeed crap!! thanks for the service that i didnt recieve, altho i pay way over the odds for this otherwise worthy handset.
£££££ what does it cost to repair? £££££
my phone is using a vodafone sim card and i bought the phone off ebay so reciepts etc are nowhere
will o2 still help me fix this ?
do you know how much it will cost ??
or am i best to throw it in the bin
plz reply soon
thank you people
