Hi guys!
Can you use the IE of your Jam to browse WAP sites?
I had configured the connection following the guide of my Italian operator (TIM)... I configured it up as default connection...
When I open the IE the right gprs-connections starts but the IE doesn't show me the contains of the WAP sites!
when using IE you have to put wsp:// instead http:// in browser for example to open google put in address bar wsp://www.google.com/xhtml the same with all other wap pages, you can also open simple html pages but it depends what kind of content your operator allow to get through APN.

Hi,
in Germany we have an O2 WAP-Flatrate that does require the use of a specific APN/Gateway. However, a lot of pages (including the O2 Active Pages quoted in SMS-eMail notification) come with http prefix which makes the Internet Explorer wanting to open the Internet GPRS instead of the WAP GPRS connection. Even the documentation of O2 refers often enough to http:// instead of wsp:// pages.
Now the question: How can I make the Internet Explorer coming with the XDA 2 to use the WAP settings including the proxy and port (actually it should be gateway rather, but the XDA 2 only allows you to set ports) set for the WAP-connection (in a way that works).
Can I trick it to open "http://" sites? Maybe with some registry tweaks?
I can change the network that is used to connect to the internet to the WAP network(where I can set a proxy), but that does not seem to work. On SE P800 I can even display proper websites with the same settings.
Any ideas how to unlock this?
Regards,
Hello!
When using WAP on my Qtek 9090 I am having problems with many WAP pages. When clicking on a link I often get "This page contains errors and cannot be displayed"
Www pages works perfectly.
I need this function to work because I access my mail thru Vodafone’s WAP page. Off curse I can access it thru www but since WAP uses not some large information it would be good to use WAP.
Wich wap browser do you use?
You can't do it with IE, you need a wap browser
OK! Where can I get one?
Wich one is the best.
Hi everybody!
I've just register to this cool forum but I've been reading the threads for a time now!
I don't have the solution to your Gprs problem sorry, but I cannot connect to the wap over Gprs and I have no error message when I connect to the Gprs.
I'am now using rom 1.12 FR and removed the extended rom.
If someone could help me to fix this problem, it would just be great.
Thanks a lot.
first check if you have set properly connection settings

remember that using WAP services on pocket internet explorer you have to use wsp:// instead of http:// at the beginning of every WAP adress

What about WAP sites that begin with http:// ? I cant seem to connect to those, cause when I insert http the explorer reads it as a normal webpage, and its a WAP page
set X1 to use "optusZoo"conection for optus wap site, but "internet" to other sites?
Hi all,
I'm currently with Singtel Optus Australia. It only allows me to check my “Prepaid balance” on “Optus zoo” through its “Optus Zoo wap” access point, because the server needs information to identify my number or something.
But this “Optus zoo wap” setting can only access "wap.optus.net.au", and it does not allow me to browse other sites.
So I need to use "Optus internet" for every other programs (hotmail, opera etc.) and I have to change the connection settings manually every time I want to check my balance, and then change it back to browse other website, which is pretty annoying.
Is there any way to set X1 to use “Optus internet” connection for most of the time, but use “optus zoo wap” only when I need to browse “networker.optus.net.au”?
Thanks a lot.
what?
you mean u can use gprs? can u give me the settings for using gprs please?? on optus i mean.. thankss
Hi,
Currently with my HD2, if I want to acccess Vodafone live, I have to change the connection settings to WAP adn then back again if I want to browse normally.
What I want to do is setup each browser to use a seperate gateway.
Standard Internet Gateway for Opera, and WAP for IE. I can't find a way to set this and I figured there could be a reg hack to set this.
Any suggestions.
Thanks in Advance
