Is it possible to combine two or more country maps in TomTom 5. So you can navigate from amsterdam to Berlin; or from Berlin to Paris?
Hey, same question as I answerd this morning on Pocketinfo.nl:
No, you can't combine the maps. You can however install the Germany Plus map and navigate from main roads in the Netherlands to detail roads in Germany.

Disapointment?
macsoft, i think you have not tried the TOMTOM 5 correctly. I'm a TOMTOM user as i am a Copilot user. I can say to you that your disapointment coul be by:
1. It´s instable at the moment
2. The Portuguese Maps are not so good as Copilot (TeleAtlas from TomTom versus NAVETEK q3 2004 from Copilot). The version 5 from TOMTOM maps are very accurate in big cities and nearby them in Portugal, but in other regions not so good, instead of CoPilot that almost all the Portuguese roads are there (some of them with no name but they are there to navigate...)
3. It doen´t permit you make a waypoint when you are in an area not coverd by map cartography.
4. It not possible to put a destination by geographical coordenates (latitud and longitud).
The other way, excelent 3d Navigation(by far the BEST) excelent and quickly route calculation, and plenty of otpions. I´ve heard that TOMTOM are going to use NAVETEK maps. If so, as NAVETEK maps are the most complete for Portugal by far at the moment, it will be the best navigation software for pocket PC.
I noticed that the tomtom maps that comes with tomtom go have a higher vers. number than the maps I have in my wizard. Are this maps compatibles with TT Navigator 5.2? Other question: Do you know some advantage using the "plus" maps? are they more acurate? Thank you
plus maps have the main roads of the limitroph countries in addition to what you have on the regular map. So they are alrger but not more accurate. They are interresting when you plan a travel across different countries
hi guys, got a problem with my tomtom software, because I am using a Chinese ROM and all files and folders are used differently by the device, the only way I can read a map using tomtom is by installing the map on the actual device. Needless to say I cannot install a very big map. Does anyone know where I can get the GLASGOW map if possible? Failing that the Scotland map?
Microsoft Mappoint allows you take out small sections of maps, I had west central scotland for a while it at the time did not give route finding but i believe pockets streets now does dont know if tomtom gives any town / city maps
yeah the tomtom website has the glasgow map, just wondering if anyone here had it and could share with me
I searching for tomtom 7 maps of Western Europe (720.1803) for my Cruise, but I don't find in tomtom site. Anybody knows where can I buy?

Go to TomTom map shop (http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/select.php). Select GO 720/720T as model.
I've done this myself, but chose the Norway, Sweden and Denmark map. Work just fine with TomTom 7, except for mapshare that most of the time claims I have an invalid TomTom version for my device. But sometimes it works, and I've been able to download the map corrections.
Note: You'll need to create a My TomTom account (also select Go 720 as model here) and install TomTom Home 2 (not the version for TomTom 6 and pocket PC). You install the purchased map though this application.
Halo all,
I'm searching for a compatible navigation software for my new Rhodium (T-Mobile Germany). Important is that I need a map of USA.
All my favorites (Navigon, TomTom) do not offer a map of USA preferably in Germany.
Any tips for me?
Thanks
Pascal
I'm not sure I understand your question. 've never used Navigon, but I certainly know that TomTom sells maps of the USA. Are you saying that you are having difficulty finding out where to purchase these maps from Germany?
Yes, in all german online shops there is no Map of USA.
you could try getting the igo8 standard euro version
http://navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_description
then get the us map as an extra through
https://www.naviextras.com
'nav-n-go igo8' is known as a nng device on the navieextras site
I've tried Navigon - don't remember why I didn't like it but I ditched it. I have both Garmin and TomTom - both of which I assure you you can get USA maps for (I have them so I know its possible). As for which is the best... Eh... Your mileage may vary. I'm currently in love with the features of Garmin but the positional lag is worse in Garmin than TomTom... I think either one would suit you well, but I'd guess TomTom has a wider array of maps available.
How about CoPilot Live?
At least in the USA, I had the option to buy all of the maps for Copilot Live 8, and not just the North America maps.

I used Iguidance 2009, it comes with an 8Gb card that is tied to the software. If you don't mind using this card, it seems to work pretty well - and it comes with a full set of USA maps.
