START > CALENDAR > NEW > complete SUBJECT,LOCATION, STARTS, ENDS, ALL DAY = NO, OCCURS = ONCE, REMINDER = REMIND ME = 1 MINUTE / 15 MINUTES (tried both, CATEGORIES = NO CATEGORIES, ATTENDEES = NO ATTENDEES, STATUS = BUSY, SENSITIVITY = NORMAL
The above is how I create a new appoiuntment I then see a little bell icon but I get no reminder sounds, flashing or vibrate.
I have checked in START>SETTINGS>PERSONAL>SOUND & NOTIFICATIONS > SOUNDS and checked EVENTS, PROGRAMS & NOTIFICATIONS I have then gone to the NOTIFICATIONS tab and checked to make sure that from the scroll down list Reminders has an associated sound to it and that all other check boxes are ticked.
Also with the appointment visible I select OPTIONS and ensure SET REMINDERS FOR NEW ITEMS is checked.
Can anyone tell me why my reminders are not working

Does a soft reset work?
I had the same problem sometime back on my O2 Mini. I used to get the bell icon but no notification on the screen. A soft reset did not work and the only thing that worked was a Hard Reset.
On my phone the problem was due to a software called Fingerclix. I uninstalled that and hard reset the phone and its been working fine since then.
What software do you have installed on your phone?

Hi,
My prophet's (M600) alarm keeps on going off when I reset the device. There is no notification and no ways to stop it. I have to mute the device for an hour or so, then it "forgets" about it. Any idea why this happened and any ways to stop it apart from hard resetting?

Yes, I think it is the alrm clock. As I said there is no notification saying what alarm it is, but it is the same sound as I used for Alarm clock to wake up in the morning.

No. Infact there is no alarm set now. I dont even use it to wake up in the morning. I have turned off the alarm. Still it starts after a soft reset.

The problem will be a notification in the notify queue that should not be there. For a calendar reminder it will be a calendar.exe notification. Use the attached program to check the notification queue - find the one and delete. For the alarm notification - turn off alarm and check the queue and delete any clock.exe notifications which is the one for alarms. Also goto options/settings and tick both boxes and check for duplicate notifications which will be marked in red - delete those. Do not delete the other notifications they are needed for the normal running of the device.
Activesync your device and run exe from pc.

hey, I was having the same problem - and it worked! MemMaid will open the notificaiton queue; from there, I had to look for any "CLOCK.EXE" type notification - I found several that were set for daily alarms, even though they never rang (and I don't remember setting them.) Deleting them did the trick!

but if i want to use the windows alarm, why does it not show up on the screen when the alarm is going off? I want to be able to snooze.
should i just use a 3rd party alarm?

Yep that program worked for me to. only problem was i had so many clock.exe in the list and you can only select one at a time and it takes its time. but still quicker that reseting my phone up after a hard reset.

I had the same problems as others listed on here and so I am trying this fix. During the fix I noticed a lot of "null" applications.
What do all the "null" lines mean?
Example: Application - Null
Notify type - CNT_TIME
Event Status - Active
Event Type - NONE

I had the same problem, every notifications didn't display.
I installed DinarSoft MemMaid v2.3, in the QuickClean tab I checked the 4 Notifications-related lines and I performed the cleaning process.
Then a soft reset with the stylus & the small button next to the usb connector.
And then : no more orange led flashes, no more unwanted alarm sounds. And I can use the alarm or calendar notifications again. It works.

The outlook calendar never notifies me about the upcoming meetings though i can see the meetings on the Today screen.
On Settings --> Sounds and Notifications --> Notifications tab
for Event = Reminders I have all options checked
Play Sound : Notify
Repeat
Display message on screen
Vibrate
Flash Light
But no notification comes up.
Make sure the appointment itself has the Reminder option selected - 1 min, 2 min, 15 min...
Might be too obvious OR you may have a more serious issue!
Yes. The appointments do have 15min reminders. PC's outlook pops up reminders window.
In that case it may be that your notifications have built up, or that there are duplicates in there.
First make a full backup. Then:
Get Checknotifications (free but basic) or Memmaid or SK Tools and check the notifications. Use the software to remove all duplicates, then look carefully at the remaining notifications which start with Calendar or Clock. Make sure that they all occur in the future. If any past or obviously strange notifications are there, then delete these. Don't delete notifications where you don't know what they do.
Then see if your reminders work properly again.
WLM alone puts 2+ duplicate notifications on my device on every soft reset.
Since today (I changed nothing with my Qtek S200, no ROMs, no settings, no new software) I got a strange problem.
1. The alarm bell starts ringing but there is no button to sopt it, so it rings, and rings and rings, sometimes with a little break inbetween and sometime without.
2. The is no notification for an appointment anymore. I can set it to anytime, but there is no bell or text for a notification.
3. If I do a soft reset, during the wm5 splash screen multiple notification an alarm bell sound are played simultaneously, like a forgotten sounds are played this time.
What can I do? I also removed the battery for some time. I can't do a hard reset, because I have no possibility to backup my files, SMS, contacts, etc.

PS: It seems the notofocation queue could be the source of this problem. So how can I fix it or edit the queue?
Ok I fixed the problem using Check Notifications. I deletet all calendar.exe and clock.exe entries. Now all seems ok.
But there are some entries with Null as aplication description. Like these:

I use to have a bunch of Outlook tasks with notifications to remind me of various things to do.
With my previous phone (HTC P3300), the notifications stayed there (until dismissed) whatever I did: reset the phone, move from an application to another, whatever. In the Today screen I always had the left soft key displaying "Reminder" indicating that I had some notifications active.
In my new HD2 this is not hte case any more. I am glad I am not wasting my left soft key just for the reminders, but the problem is that my notifications keep disappearing: if I reset the phone, they are gone. I got the habit of snoozing them before resetting, but this morning my 4 notifications were gone, even with no reset!
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround? Anyone knows what is purging the notifications?

Also is there a app or a way to change the snooze time? For example, to remind me again in 1 hour, but more important notifications, in 10 min...
Hey, i had (have) the same problem. First of all please report this to HTC cos this is a BIG error. What i did is unable htc notification manager, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=631449. That worked for me, also brings back the snooze option. Only problem now that the active reminders dont synx with my exchange or home outlook, but thats something i can live with. Good luck !!
i use the following three reg settings to tweak my notifications.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM\Reminder
change EnableAutoDismiss from 1 to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM
CustomUIDLL is probably set to NotificationLayout.dll
change it to anything else, (example NotificationLayout2.dll) basically a name that doesnt exist.
UseDefaultUI set to 0
Also, go to settings - menu - all settings - sounds and notifications - notifcations tab - in the dropdown choose 'reminders' and make sure 'show on screen' is checked.

I am having some troubles getting notification messages from my calendar when i set it to remind me(the messages you get with "dismiss" and "snooze"). I made a task and set it to remind me and that works, but with the calendar it wont work.
Has anyone experienced this problem? And how might we solve it? thanks alot

Nope, its set between a specific time period not an all day event.
I happen to have 2 hd2's(the other one is my son's), and the calendar notfications work on his. so right now i am tring to find something related to calendar/reminder in the registry to see if any values might be different.
Any ideas on where the calendar stuff is in the registry?

Yep i have already seen all those setting and changed them like you say but no dice.
Not having much luck with the registry settings either...I thought i had it when i found a difference between my hd2 and my sons in the registry HKCU : ControlPanel\Notifications\{15F11F90-8A5F-454c-89FC-BA9B7AAB0CAD} where the "duration" key in mine was a value of 5 and my sons 0. So i changed mine to 0 as well but no luck so far
