Xda exec with or without simlock? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hey guys,
i've checked most of the forums, but it's still not clear whether the XDA Exec comes locked to o2, or unlocked?

Unlocked to other UK networks. Possibly unlocked to international networks too, but nobody has confirmed this yet.

The problem is that i want to use it with a non-UK simcard.
Nobody can confirm, please?

Thanks, Thanks.

T-mobile unlock
How about T-mobile, will it work in the same way. I have recently purchased T-mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, but I don't know how to unlock it as it is not working with my GSM provider in Europe (Alcatel).
Do you know how it will work with my T-mobile.

Is O2 XDA EXEC clean of any kind of locks?

I tried searching on this but was not able to come up with a clear answer.
Im in the USA and in the process of buying an O2 Exec. Im wondering if its CLEAN of any kind of sim locks. I know it comes unlocked but will I be able to use more then one carrier sim card? I currrently have an ATTWS sim and am considering switching service later in the year.
So, if I use the ATTWS sim now will it lock the phone to ATTWS and thus make it impossible to switch carriers later in the year? What about local country sims since I will be traveling internationally?
Many Thanks.
Please run a search, this question has been asked and answered on this forum ad nauseum.
In a word. Yes, the current batch of Execs are unlocked to ALL sims. No idea if that will change in the future or not.
I did run a search. There wasnt really a clear answer if it would be unlocked to ALL sims. Thanks for your response.
well so far there has not been any first hand acocunts of locked Execs. those who said they have seen locked Execs were told by their friends or their friend's friend. in short, they did not experience it for themselves.

[Q] Locked, branded, exclusive, rooted and such.

Alright. I've been searching the FAQs and forums and would like someone(s) to set me straight on the following:
1. The Dell Steak is currently being sold in the UK direct from Dell _unlocked_ and also via O2 on or off contract. The _unlocked_ version is not just sim free but can be used on any GSM network that the UK version supports (T-Mobile UK, e.g.). True or False? If true, out-of-the-box (OOB), rooted and special ROM, or SmartSim?
2. If this is true what is this O2 exclusive deal with Dell and which phones are they 'blacklisting' if someone tries to use a SmartSim or similar?
3. If T-Mobile in the UK and US use the same frequencies, would an unlocked Streak from the UK work on T-Mobile in the US with a US sim?
4. If AT&T is the exclusive carrier in the US when it is released, then does anyone really expect Dell to sell an unlocked version? Aren't we really planning on seeing just a contract/no contract price for the same version?
Sorry if that's a lot for a single post, but it all seems related and didn't make sense to split up.
The phones that 02 sell are LOCKED and will not be unlocked by them in the near Future. It will work with a Rebel Sim on any network in the UK so i am told.
The ones from Dell are UNLOCKED and can run on any Sim in the UK
Now i have not read of any one from the US getting a Unlocked streak from the UK and using it it in the US
They have just started selling them in France and Germany locked, not sure about unlocked
I have trawled through the Internet and have not come across a UK one working in the USA
Direct from Dell Streaks are SIM free and unlocked out of the box, mine works fine on T-Mobile UK.
O2's exclusive deal was for a limited period and expired at the beginning of July I believe.
T-Mobile UK and US operate on different bands, specifically the US requires the 1700 band for downstream data.
I believe Dell US had a pre-order page on their website which suggests they will be available unlocked from launch there. Probably because they will only work on AT&T's network for 3G its probably not worth them going to the trouble of an exclusive deal.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Thanks
Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully the tags will help others find the same answers.
In France they are unlocked

Question on unlocked Streak

Dear All,
I am planning to get a Streak (UK version) unlocked
i would like to know what is the major difference between a locked and an unlocked version?
i just know that a locked version doesnt not support other networks (e.g. O2 Streak doesnt allow Vodafone and etc sim cards to work)
other than this, are there any other main differences?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
i am currently in Hong Kong, there is a Streak offer (O2 unlocked version) and i would like to get it this week or so...
i am just afraid that the "3G/Data/HSPA" etc will not work... so i would like to know the locked/unlocked differences
i hope everyone could help me out and welcome me to the Dell Streak family
thanks all
basically no.
that is the major difference.
unlocked: use on any network
sim only from o2/cpw locked to o2
unlocked: minus any bloatware that o2 may put on their version.

Thanks for answering my question too - I want to use the Dell Streak satnav in Spain with a local SIM (unless O2 offers a sweet deal on roaming rates with its Telefonica parent?? But I rather doubt it).
no guarantees on 3g unless hong kong uses the same 3g band.

Samsung S5 LTE+ (aka G901F)

Has anyone here successfully managed to unlock the ones from EE?
I mean those that come as EE network upgrades - can they really be unlocked and become 'SIM-Free' to be used outside UK?
And I m talking before the 6 month period that EE says its the minimum usage after which unlocking the phone is possible...I m talking a brand new unit that came sealed, to be able to unlock it on first use. Can it be done?
Cheers
Currently, and from what I have read, the G901F is available only in UK (EE, O2, others?) and Germany (T-Mobile, other?)
EE ones are a bugger to unlock - anyone has any success story unlocking one of those EE units?
What about those from T-Mobile (Germany) - any of those around that can be unlocked?
By 'unlocked', I mean totally SIM free that can be used anywhere worldwide...
