Hi there.
Can someone tell me what cards the XDA2 can and cannot support (and also where is a good cheap place to get them in the UK)?
Also, transferring music to the XDA over ActiveSync is a real pain. If I get an adapter for my PC, are the file formats compatible?
Thanks!
I Bought a SanDisk 512MB Ultra II Secure Digital Card plus shipping and VAT for GBP115.04 from mymemory.co.uk
This was about the best price I could find for this item as well as a site which would ship it to an address different to my billing address.
As far as compatability goes you'll have to do a search or wait for one of the gurus to respond.
Kind regards
Alan
Hi
Just installed a Dual sim card in my XDA2.
I bought a "King of Double card" the other day and it seems to be working fine.
I can jump between sim cards by turning the flight mode on and off
I would like to know if anyone has had any bad experiences with these type of cards?
Hope there is no long-term damage... :!:
Hi Frogger,
I have had the same dual sim card for some months now. All is great. No problems at all.
Have fun.
Frogger / Quenmzar: What 'model' of 'king of double card' dual sim is it you ordered.
On ebay there are about two sellers of 'king of double card'. The quality of those dual sim adapters is good, but one need to specify the 'model'.
(and XDAII/MDAII/iMate/Qtek 2020 is not listed).
Until now I did not get any useable feedback from the sellers other than buying a ghost-adapter for which you will have to cut sim's (which is something I do not want to do.
I can't see where there is any room to fit these in an XDAII? How do you manage to squeeze it in?
This is the dual SIM I actually bought. If you put it UNDER the battery it fits ok. Bit of a squeeze but works just fine.

i did a reveiw of dual simcards here

Jim
I know of the mobileplace.co.uk dual sim. It costs GBP 10
The king of double card costs around USD 6
Now you know my motivation to find out the type of 'king of double card' I need . . . .
Dual sim on XDA2
This is how the Dual sim card is installed on my XDA2
Dual SIM Card
I recently purchased the dual sim card holder from mobileplace.co.uk for GBP12. They shipped me the king of double card, so I suppose the difference in price between ebay and mobileplace.co.uk is the very fast and good service I got from mobileplace.co.uk. However, after a few weeks my XDAII started to run slowly and then the other night went dead. A hard reset fixed the problem but I suspect it had something to do with the adaptor. Also each time I would take the back cover off the unit, even with the main battery still in, it does a hard reset. I don't know if other people experience. I really did enjoy using the adaptor but have taken it out for now
Hi, i've been looking for this here in the Philippines but I couldn't find one that is for XDA II. Are there really ones made for XDA II or you're just using the one from other phone models? I tried using the Dual SIM (King of double card) for nokia but it doesn't work, it won't detect the SIM and the cover cant even b closed although the SIM slot fits fine.
I bought one off eBay at the beginning of October. The model is described as
6220/6310i/7250/8310/T230/T68i DUAL SIM CARD

I had to tell them what device it was for and I told them XDA II.
It works fine - no problems yet.
I installed it much the same way as seen in the picture in frogger's post above. It's a bit tricky - I needed to feed the flat cable in front of the battery, avoiding the battery connector, then, with the SIMS installed, bend it down flat on top of the battery. Its a bit of a squeeze to get the back cover on, but it will go.
I've got a similar one. The ribbon cable is actually quite strong. I made a 45 degree crease so that the ribbon bends through 90 degrees and folds over the top of the battery ( ithink thats what is pictured above). Only downside is that the rear case needs to flex a bit, and doesn't quite fit flush at the top, allowing some dust in.
I've got 1 sim card with 2 lines. What I have to do is different. I have to go to programs/ sim tool kit/ my lines/ switch lines.
Is there any software around that would give me the same functionality as you guys have? just turning the flight mode on and off? Is there any program that creates macros for this particular function at the press of a button?
Qtek9090 and Dual Sim
Does anyone know whether there is a Dual Sim card for the Qtek 9090.
Cookiem
It will be just a case of trying.
Can you post a picture of the location of the SIM slot location in the battery compartment of the 9090?
Maybe I can give you some advice then.
Personally I prefer the King of Double card dual sim adapters by saintjoy_03 on eBay: cheap, quick, reliable. But you have to specify the correct model as they dont know the HTC devices.
i use this one for some time now
but not for the faintharted cause your sim card has to chopped
anyways nowadays they got 16 in one and so on sim adaptors.
ah well still, searching for a way to use them both at the same time!
tip anyone ?
oh yeah addition: you do get some sort of adaptor in which you can place your downsized simcard. so it can be used in seperately if needed...
I am selling a T-Mobile MDA Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 5) cell phone that was used for only one week. I am selling the phone because I am switching to another service provider. It is in mint condition, and I am even including a 256MB mini SD card. Also included are the original box, charger, leather case, extra stylus, headphones, CD, USB cable, manual, etc. Click Here to visit the online auction.
Hi all!
which is the best dual sim adapter for prophet?
I saw many auctions on ebay, but I don't know which one to buy..
is this good?
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...50007856399&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
Of course I don't want to cut the sim, but I don't know if there is enough room for bending the adaptor, or if it does fit well and it isn't too thick..
I also saw this one (I know that it requires to cut the sims):
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...50007376601&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
is this ok? or is it too thick?
If someone is successfully using such a device, could kindly answer to this thread putting images of the PDA and the adapter?
Thank you
I've searched the internet, wiki & this forum but I can't seem to find what comes in the box. My old blackstone came with an 8 gig card, little crappy sued pouch, USB cable, stylus.... I think that's about it. Thinking about waiting on the Telstra version for the US 3G capability. Thanks in advance.
P.S. - Is it SIM free or can it take a SIM card?
search ebay...they tell you what is in the box...generally speaking the extra items that the seller offer are reffered to bonus items.
it does take sim card
I appreciate your help, but it was unsuccessful. I'm not interested in the "extra crap" that people give you when you buy one. Most of the specs listed on ebay are copied from HTC's website, which doesn't list what's included in the box. I guess my question is if I went to a retailer, saw the box for the Leo & bought it, what's inside the cellophane (other than the slide cover for the box & the box itself)? What size is the memory card, belt clip/pouch, screen protector, little black sticker that nobody knows what it's for, both UK & US wall adapters, screen-cleaning cloth, little black pouch, etc.........
Thanks
The India version of HD2 comes with :
8Gb MicroSD Card
Pouch
USB Cable
Headset
Charging Adapter
The UK version I got contained:
-The phone (duh)
-A USB-microUSB cable
-A charging USB adapter (Came with the UK plug)
-Headset
-A 2GB microSD card
-A (very) small user manual and the guarantee
-The battery
-A leather pouch
The HD2 has a SIM slot and a MicroSD/HC card slot; removing the battery is required to change the SIM card, but not the MicroSD card.
