Hi there.
Can someone tell me what cards the XDA2 can and cannot support (and also where is a good cheap place to get them in the UK)?
Also, transferring music to the XDA over ActiveSync is a real pain. If I get an adapter for my PC, are the file formats compatible?
Thanks!
I Bought a SanDisk 512MB Ultra II Secure Digital Card plus shipping and VAT for GBP115.04 from mymemory.co.uk
This was about the best price I could find for this item as well as a site which would ship it to an address different to my billing address.
As far as compatability goes you'll have to do a search or wait for one of the gurus to respond.
Kind regards
Alan

Has anyone tested SanDisk Secure Digital 256MB + Wi-Fi Card with XDA2?
Many people that already tested it say that the card is not compatible with the O2 XDAII/i-Mate GSM/GPRS Pocket PC/Dopod 696/Qtek 2020.
Can anyone please confirm if the card functions both as memory/wifi
with the O2-XDA2 or provide with a link with the appropriate drivers?
No it doesn't. Microsoft limitation.
The maker of the card also state that it does not work for the xda 2.
Sandisk Compartibility List
This is sandisk's compartibility list.It says that it is supported by xda2!
http://www.sandisk.com/consumer/download/sdwifi/sdwifi_compatability_list.htm
:?
are you sure it's not the comatiblity list for their wifi card without ram because that works just fine with xda2's
but not the one with sdram on it aswell
list
I got that link from that store that is selling the sandisk 256mb + wifi.
When i emailed the store asking them if it actually works on xda2 they replied:
The compatibility list featured on Pocket PC Central is not our list,
but
rather the list provided by SanDisk, the manufacturer of the SD 256MB +
Wi-Fi Card. According to that list, their SDIO Wi-Fi cards are
natively
compatible with the XDA2. If you have information that contradicts
this, my
first thought would be to go with the manufacturer of the accessory
over a
third-party reseller.
That being said, I would be happy to send a message to my contact at
SanDisk
and get a more definitive answer for you.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Hi,
I'm so annoyed that i waited until now to get a Wifi card for my Orange M500 (UK Magician). By the time i got around to ordering one, they (Ebuyer SD PDS Wireless Lan Card Adapter 11MBPS) are discontinued
Does anyone else have any recomendations for compatible SD Wifi Cards that are still available?
I see that Ebuyer.com sell the Sandisk 256MB Wireless 802.11b Secure Digital Card for £72.84 inc VAT but is it compatible?
Futurity
There's no reason why it should not work. The memory should come in useful anyway.
I have the spectec one, very very small.

Works a treat.
Im also using the SPECTEC with no issues
SPECTEC 820 + Modified E300 Drivers: a winner combo !
I got 2 Sandisk SD wifi cards off eBay, cost just over £50 each inc postage, they work a treat, just had a look and the seller no longer trades You can still get them off eBay but you'll have to look into how good the seller is. Hope that helps.
I use the Sandisk 256mb+wifi -- works quite well.
Hi all,
I just upgraded my printer to a HP 2610 which has memory card slots and a network port. I was thinking that copying files to the memory card via the wired network might be quicker than copying to my XDA Exec over usb or wifi, but Im not seeing a speed improvement at all. :-(
Has anyone else tried this? Im copying 350meg files to my 2gig SD card and would like to know what would be the fastest way of doing this.
Many thanks
Nasdaq
I would use a card reader
Yeah I should buy one of those, I was just holding off as I knew my printer was about to pack up and thought that maybe the card readers on the printer might be up to the job.
Would you recommend any specific model?
Cheers

I have got a Lexar 8-1, new ones nowadays are 12-in-1, and I am also using card reader at work which is built in the my HP PSC all in one printer. I also think that any will do, it is just a simple device.
Aria.co.uk have a tiny usb plug in card reader that doubles as a usb thumb drive. Very handy! I got mine a year ago and it works fine.

I am sure your chosen supplier has somet similar

Boost copying fast
You can contact your supplier through their Customer Support Hotline, or you can try what I use to boost transfer speeds. It's a common tool that we use at the office - GS RichCopy 360. Use it to transfer anything from files to documents to remote sites, servers, from point A to point B. Hope this helps you.
I just got an 8Gb Samsung OEM 8Gb 150x SD card for my 02 Exec, but the XDA doesn't recognise the card, it just says there's no card installed. My PC can read and write to it find.
Can anyone shed light on this? Is there a max of 4Gb, is it the brand of card or do I need to do something on the XDA? I don't remember doing anything for my 4Gb cards, so I don't think it's the latter
I do hope it's not a 4Gb limit, as that means that not only will the 8Gb card work, but also it means the 16Gb and 32Gb cards Samsung say they will have on the market by the end of the year won't work which will be a major pain
Cheers
Is it an SD, or SDHC? If it's the latter, it will not work.
If it's only SD, there have been many problems with cards above 4gb in many devices, not just PPC devices.
The success rate is not that high.
Ah, I see. It's SDHC. What's the difference? Is it worth returning and changing for a normal SD?
SDHC is high capacity, it requires fundamental different changes that can't be done via software updates to your device, so it will never work with it.
So yeah, I would exchange it. Personally, having seen the amount of problems people have had with 8gb cards, I would go for a 4gb standard SD.
Oh well. The idea was to get as much music on it to save me having to buy an MP3 player but I guess that's not going to work.

4GB of music is approximately 4000 minutes (give or take) which gives you 67 hours of music!
I guess when you're done listening, you can copy another 4GB should take you some time to listen to all of this!
Why buy a device for a function you already have.
If anyone is still there I havve a problem. When I tried to update it. i think it failed and got stuck on the serial v1.00 botloader. Luckily I found a way to fix that. May one of you please supply the 1.30.79 WWE QTEK-TMobile rom please I cannot find it. Also I ahve a 4gb that's not working with my device. Could it be possible that my rom is to old and the update for 4gb cards haven't been set in place fo r that rom? This the only time I've heard of a 4g card not working. Please help. I think its a 2005 rom
Hi all,
I'm looking for one, but I don't want to buy a less than 6GB microSD in order to get the miniSD adapter. I've checked the Sandisk 6GB package, but I couldn't find it. Am I missing something?
BTW, if you have an adapter for sales, pls PM or email me at tqsn1 at yahoo.com. I'll paypal you. I prefer the one is living in USA b/c I can't afford out-of-country shipping cost.

Oh NO, I should have read a little closer. Thanks!
Verizon has a 1Gb micro w/ mini and standard adapters for $29.00. Just don't show off your phone it depresses them.
if you want a good quality one go for the one made by nokia.
kms
if your trying to save money you don't have to buy an adapter if you use activesync. Just put your sd card in your phone and connect your device to the pc (active sync will open), hit the explore button on activesync, go to my windows based mobile device, then storage card and drag and drop the files you want on the card.
I bought this one and I really like it. The card is only 4GB, but works for me. It may be a little pricey but I needed the card and wanted the adaptor. I love it!
HTH,
