I read other discussion about this upgrading where the part that qtek rom upgrade (flash). The error message saying " invalid vendor name". I guess because this is Cingular's under Audiovox SMT5600 and can not using Qtek rom upgrade. If this is true...please anyone for advise.

Guys, I have O2 XDA2 with ROM 1.66.00WWE, ext ROM 1.66.165, and bootloader 1.06,
I want to upgrade my XDA2, so I downloaded an i-mate ROM version 1.72.126,
and using ER2003edit I changed the carrier from CDL to O2,and leave all parameter as it is...
but when I run himaupdate.exe, it said country id error,ce checksum error, etc,etc...
then I change the carrier gain to CDL, still no luck...
last, I repeat again the first step above, but I didn't use ER2003edit, so the ROM is original (still in CDL carrier, right), voila, it passed the error message, but I'm affraid to click upgrade button since mine is O2 XDA2 not imate...
is it ok to upgrade?isn't it strange that my O2XDA2 choose CDL carrier for upgrade?
please help...

afaik eredit2003 is only capable of changing operator id's (=country id) for the Extended ROM.

I upgraded my XDA I with the original Tmobile upgrade PPC2003 GER. All works fine. Then i started the Autokonfiguration for Tmobile Germany. One Programm i got was a tool for mms-sending and receiving. When i want to start this Programm an error message occures like "This software is only working on original T-mobile device". What can i do ? Where is the difference between my XDA I and the MDA I ?

the difference is only the software
try doing a search for mms composer in the forum it should not have any special relation to any operator of cause you may have to put in the mms settings manualy

using mms-composer is one possibilty. But i thought, when flashing my XDA I with the original ROM of the MDA (T-Mobile, PPC 2003, German), there would be no difference to the original MDA I, and then using the MMS-client-Software (Materna, ANY WAY) from T-Mobile Germany shouldn't make any Problems. When starting the MMS-Software the message "... Software only for T-Mobile Devices" occurs. This means, there must be another difference to the MDA. Any idea ???

i have found the solution for my own. Here for all who are interrested:
- the difference between a MDA1 and XDA1 (with MDA-ROM) is the imei-number
- the MMS-Client-software from T-Mobile (Materna, ANY WAY) needs an imei of a T-mobile MDA
- it must begin with 350512... or 350513... following with a serialnumber of T-mobile

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade my MDA Vario from UK T-mobile rom 2.21 to US T-mobile 2.26? I got the error Invalid Vender ID, everytime I tried to update.
Are there anyway to CID unlock T-mobile rom 2.21 at the moment?

You need to unlock your phone using lockiwiz.
But be warned i did this with my phone and had to go back to the UK T-Mobile ROM as the American ROM sets your phone up with all the American settings for GPRS etc...
Hello! I want to bring my XDA Terra brand O2 Ger in a normal Herald ITA, install the original rom of WM6 HTC. When I start the upgrade, the procedure begins, it stops showing the "ERROR 294 - INVALID VENDOR ID". What brought this error? Can I do anything to remove it and install WM6 original ITA?
