Not enough snooze options - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

With previous versions of the Pocket PC operating systems to Windows Mobile 5.0 there were sensible snoozing periods for alarms. 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minutes plus (if I remember correctly) 2, 4, 8 hour delays and 1 and 7 day periods.
With WM 5.0 we get 5 and 15 minutes, or 1 hour or 1 day.
Does anyone know a way to increase the number of options available? whether through hacking the registry or through some 3rd party software?
Or is this another enhancement of WM 5.0?

Boing.
Can anyone help with this??
I too would like to have more snooze options!

Yup, same here - would be nice to have more options.
People might advice to switch to another calendar software - but would be enough to just add as described above without changing to other calendar software.

I'm SURE the snooze options are probably to be found in the Registry, and thus could possibly be added to - but dont really know where to look.
any Registry experts about who could advise??

Same problem here. Any options discovered so far?
Thanks

I am also looking for a way to either change or add different snooze times..! The standard snooze options are SO FRUSTRATING...!

How can I get more reminder snooze options in WM5?

Hi!
Is there a way to get more snooze options in the reminder bubble?
In WM2003 there was 1 day, 8 hours, 2 hours and 1 hours. But in WM5 there's only 1 day, 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's relly frustrating to snooze a reminder 23 times (if i set a 1 day in advance reminder) to be able to get the reminder 1 hour before the event starts.
I've searched the forums and internet in general but haven't found anything. Does anyone here know how to add reminder options in WM5?
\\ aste
I am also looking for this, anyone knows ?
Any news?
Just a suggestion. After setting it for the 1 day reminder, and being alerted by the device at that time, why don't you just edit the event and set the new time for 15 minutes before? No snooze in that, just a new reminder time.
G'luck
phoneAlarm by PocketMax lets you do this, if it helps...
Edit: Actually - sorry, after re-reading, I'm not sure it does the snoozing thing. Apologies.
To change the entire event will take much more time than just snoozing it for extra XX minutes or hours.
Phonealarm is a great application, but it impact alarm repeat or sound, but doesn't customize snooze menu :-(.
I know this may sound weird, but if there is a specific list of "obvious" updates or changes that NEED to be made, let me know. I have an old friend from high school that works for MS on the WM5 project. I do believe the snooze stuff should be changable. Where you can alter what you want your snooze functions to be. But anyway, about the list. Is someone compiles a list, i'll be glad to pass it on to him.
Any more news on this topic.

Media Player needs some fixes...
-option to make it always use storage card even if storage card temporarily disappears
-in library, the back button functionality needs to be accessable via a left dpad click. there misht be another one that causes me to have to tap the screen when it needs to all work from dpad/softkeys
-option to remember what track and what time in track (a must for listening to audiobooks)
I agree on snoozes as well, I want a 7 hour snooze to remind me of stuff before I leave work.
I can understand wanting more options. But this one I've never seem to have gotten. Isn't the point of a reminder to remind you of something at the time you scheduled it? I mean if you weren't planning on doing something when the reminder goes off why did you schedule it for that time? Isn't the point of these devices to make us more productive not procrastinators? I dunno I'm sure someone will have a valid argument. Cheers.
I've always found using progs like Calendar + useful for knowing what's coming up a day or two in advance. If I were to schedule a reminder a day before it happens I'll sure as hell forget about it as soon as I snooze it anyway. But that's just me. I have virtually no memory. I'm like a Palm Treo 650.
JuicePPC -- remember that it is not only calendar reminders that show up on the Reminder list, but also tasks and other activities which are flagged with a reminder. I often use Tasks (or an email, or even a simple Calendar entry, etc.) flagged with a reminder as my "To Do" list. If I am busy with another task when my Reminder goes off I will snooze it for however long I expect my current activity will take until I can address the "To Do" item, or Task.

I think this does it as I recall...

I might be at work and get a reminder to ring a mate. I'll snooze it for 10 minute.
But then get called into a meeting and get the reminder again - I'll then want to snooze it for maybe 30 minutes or 2 hours (neither available), to avoid getting embarasing reminder bleeps.
Having "setable" snooze options is such a no-brainer i'm hardly surprised that Microsoft forgot about them.

Snooze periods

Is there anyway to get a snooze period longer than an hour but shorter than 1 day?
Also interested...
On a related note: is it possible to cancel a snooze?
Suppose you set snooze to 1 hour; is there a way to cancel it if you manage to get up within 30 minutes? ? (unchecking the alarm doesn't cancel it)

More than 1 hour snooze is a sleep in!!
I think I'd just set another alarm if it's longer than an hour.
Alternatively try searching for third party alarm software hopefully freeware that may have more options, including cancelling it if you wake up in good time. I'm sure on this forum people have mentioned good alarm software so you could search here or just google alarm freeware for WM5.

This is one of the most annoying "upgrades" on WM5 along with the inability to select multiple recipient in Outlook. I want to snooze my alarm for 30 minutes but can't. Or what if I want to snooze a reminder for just 8 hours?
Is there a way to change the snooze values?
I would also like to know if this can be edited. Maybe by using a registry editor. I would als like a 30 min snooze. A 1 minute snooze isn`t really useful
Still no fix for altering Snooze time frames???
Boy, I was really hoping for some work-around on this. I can't believe we jump from a 1 hr snooze time-frame to 1 day. Any registry tweakers out there with the knowledge to fix and/or alter the default time allotments? We'd really appreciate it!
TIA!
I've tried searching for the ability to change snooze time and ran across this thread. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to setting snooze times in WM6 without the use of third party software. I would be willing to try editing the registry if you could point me towards these values.
Hi!
Also very interested in this, but from what i've searched so far... must be really dificult, because couldn't find a solution anywhere.
Really supid having 1 hour and then 1 day....
Regards
FLP
I usually set my alarms in half an hour intrevals... annoying.
Seeing the word "snooze" so many times... hilarious.

Change snooze time for reminders

Is it possible to customize the snooze time for the reminders?
I get Snooze 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day.
I'd like it to be 5 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day.
How can I change it?
TIA
I would also like to know if anyone has a solution to edit this in registry or any other way. My Dutch Rom has Snooze 15 Minutes twice instead of 1x 10mins and 1x 15 mins . I would like to edit this also.
I bet that means there must be a registry setting somewhere to change this, since in your ROM you have a duplicated snooze time...
I have looked here and on google for over an hour. I cannot find anywhere to change the snooze interval times. If you are an expert user or ROM cooker could you please at least post here why you were not able change the snooze times. In theory it seems simple and that's why it's so frustrating to not find a response anywhere of how to do it. You would think that there would be a little place in the registry somehwhere where you could just change a few numbers and there you have it. Is it embedded it the calandar program or something?
Just put our mines at rest and tell us why it cannot be done so we stop thinking that there must be a simple solution somewhere.
Or be a hero to us all and find a fix!
Thanks!

Change snooze times

How can I change the snooze or delay alarm from appointments and so on?
The 5/10/15 1hr and 1 day are not really convenient.
Is it possible to change it from the registry?
Thanks
no idea how to change it and i found the installed clock/alarms useless. I installed G-alarm and that allows a lot more felxibility and cusomization plus i dont sleep through the 5 sec native alarm...
Yes but its not related to alarms only. Its associated with Appointments too. I'd like to postpone an appointment perhaps 6 hours and then 1 day not 1 hour then 1 day.
That would be a no...
So far as I am aware (and having been looking for this capability for years), the answer to your question is 'no', you cannot change snooze time. Just another 'feature' of WinMo - no charge!

Delaying reminders with more than one minute

When a reminder from for instance a calendar event, an incoming message or a missed call pops up, you can choose to dismiss it or delay it (not sure if delaying is the correct name in english, I mean postponing). When you choose delay, it pops up again after a minute or so.
WM offers the opportunity to choose for how much time you want the delay the reminder. If I recall correctly you could delay it for 1, 5, 30 and 60 minutes and 24 hours or so. Is there a way to get this choice back in TF3D? One minute is too fast for me.
Edit: for solution go directly to post 37.
I noticed this too. It's an annoying 'problem' for me. Hope to find a tweak/solution!
Hello there,
I had a little lookie in the registry found something that seems to do the trick, check out .
HK_Current_User > Controlpanel >notifications>reminders>autosnooze> AUTOSNOOZEMINS ......
Sorry for not displaying it like normal registry entries but I hope this is helpful, now I just have to find away of that annoying home screen problem.
Thanks for the Registry tip...I changed the registry and the MAX that it will snooze is 5 mins.....despite the amount you change the registry to!!!
It mentions something about the entry being a Hexidecimal??? I am not sure but I tried 15, 30, 45 and it only sleeps for 5 mins.
Any thoughts?

Thanks. I've searched around for this HKCU/Controlpanel/notifications/reminders/autosnooze/AUTOSNOOZEMINS key a little. What I found is that it decides for how long the reminder keeps bugging you, when you're not responding to it by either dismissing or delaying it. That's not really what we're looking for. Furthermore, I would like to have a choice for how long to delay it each single time, not just have a different generic delaying time.
This does the trick: HKLM/sysem/shell/notification/oem/usedefaultui=1 in stead of 0. It also changes the appearance of the reminder though.

I have installed Pocket Informant 8.51. Can this be the problem? How to solve it? I have not found the way how to snooze with different intervals.
Thanks!
Maybe they misinterpreted you because of the word snooze. Maybe you can snooze when you use the alarm clock to wake yourself up in the morning.
Have you read my previous post at all? It contains the solution!

The normal alarm function pops up a little requestor with an alarm clock at the top and a description of the alarm. The soft keys are snooze and dismiss. Pressing snooze or holding down snooze both have the same effect, the alarm is snoozed for 5 mins, there is no option to change the length of the snooze interval.

As I said: change HKLM/sysem/shell/notification/oem/usedefaultui=1 in stead of 0. That will give you different snooze options.
I sent an email to the Hong Kong HTC support centre. They did understand the problem was with Calendar reminders, but said that the snooze is fixed at 1 minute.
They have said they will pass on to the engineers a request for being able to choose different time periods, so I guess this could appear in a future firmware upgrade if enough other people ask for it too (hint hint!).
Meanwhile, I did the registry edit suggested by deechte and it now works in the usual (less pretty) Windows Mobile way. Thanks for this!
Ben
It seems a bit bizarre that somewhere there must have been a meeting where they decided that replacing the older version with the massively restricted new version was acceptable. Didn't anyone think at design time that the new implementation was a bit **** compared to the WM version?
Thanks deechte! The registry tweak worked like a charm on the Diamond2 - the original "Dismiss" and "Menu" were restored - when I clicked on "Menu", it gave me a big finger-friendly menu to choose the time to remind again - just like the standard WM6.1. Note: Had to restart the phone after the tweak before it takes effect.
Thanks it works
Glad I could be of help. I agree it's a pity that you get back the old-style menu. I prefer it's functionality though.

Deechte, thank you very much for this trick. I was totally dissapointed with the current situation not been able to delay more than 5 min the alarms.
hey deechte, thank for the tip!
luckless me! registery trick dosen'y work for me!
Maybe restart your device afterwards?
doesn't work for me too...
