2020 camera on 9090 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Is it possible to run on a blueangel the hymalaya 2.70 camera software?
Does anyone know something about it?
Thank's
Denis Miorandi

Try it, because I hate this current camera! , if it doesn't work just hard reset. If someone could get a nice full screen camera like the himalaya that would be great.

Camera Problem

Well I just got my JasJar and when I press the camera the app comes up and then nothing but a black screen. Is there any software update out there? The camera that is on the screen works but not the one on the back.

I am having the samem problem. Is there anything I can download to correct this?
Nothing in the way of the screen.
I have not found a solution to the camera problem. There is nothing in the way of the lens. I have not taken the phone apart to see if maybe a cable is unplugged or such. I really do not think it would be that simple anyway. Once I buy my next phone I will try it out but for now I just wait to see if a good ROM might fix the problem.
In my jasjar cam goes almost fine, but only with 640x480. If configure largest not take pics

HTC Hermes/TyTN lists only [email protected] in DirectShow

Hi all,
I just got a TyTN and was instantly very impressed with the camera's quality. So i tried my DirectShow camera library which I know to run fine on the HTC Wizard/Universal/Tornado devices, but I immediatelly realized the following problem:
When i enumerate the camera modes on the TyTN, the only mode i get is 160x120, 7.5Hz, YUV12. While my lib can play that back without problems, I'd rather acess those modes with higher resolution and framerate.
Looking at the built-in camera tool and comparing the video quality againt other devices I'd guess the preview runs at 320x240 at 7.5 Hz (video quality of the preview is really great). I already checked that this is the higher quality camera on the back side and not the low quality camera on the front side.
Is HTC trying to block us from using the more advanced camera modes via DirectShow or am i missing something here?
thanks for any hints,
Daniel
Hi,
Sorry to disturb your thread
But I was wondering if you know if it's possible to re-flash the HTC TyTN to an English firmware.
Currently I have the French version of the HTC TyTN with an azerty keyboard and french language.
I would like to keep the azerty layout, but change the language to English.
Let me know if you have any experience with this.
Thanks
I have been reflashing and unlocking my HTC Universal which all worked fine, but i did not reflash the HTC TyTN yet - I already got it today. Since it is in english (the language i prefer for developing on it) i also have little reason to do so...
Still maybe anybody has an idea about the DirectShow issue?
Any experiences like that on other devices?
Daniel
I'm willing to bet you have a G4 flash chip in that TyTN. What's your IPL/SPL rev level?
On the camera.... is there any chance that DirectShow is enumerating the front camera instead of the back? Perhaps it isn't properly coded for a device that actually has two cameras.
> On the camera.... is there any chance that DirectShow is enumerating the front camera instead of the back? Perhaps it isn't properly coded for a device that actually has two cameras.
that was also my first thought, although even that camera can do more. but streaming out the pictures i read from the camera confirms that it is the back camera.
maybe you are right and there is a bug in the DirectShow driver of HTC. i never tried enumerating the 2nd camera, but maybe it is worth a try now...
Daniel
Hi, could you dump the english version to an image and upload it somewhere ? On the XDA ftp for example.
Or is that asking too much ?
> What's your IPL/SPL rev level?
Sorry to ask, but where can I find this ? The power+camera button solution apparently doesn't work with the HTC TyTN, or I'm doing it the wrong way.
General info:
ROM version: 1.18.256.2
Radio version: 1.03.03.10
Protocol version: 32.34.7010.01H
ROM ext ver: 1.18.256.103
That's all i could find.
Hope it helps.
when you first boot it, does it display the spl/ipl revision on the initial splash screen?
My ROM shows the following numbers
M05
S04
B05
R 1.03.03.10
G 32.34.7010.01H
D 1.18
i'm not quite sure how to read that and i never dumped a ROM yet. if you tell me how to do it i might give it a try...
Daniel
All the versions are the same for me too,
M05
S04
B05
R 1.03.03.10
G 32.43.7010.01H
D 1.18
But I'm currently also unaware of how to dump an image, tried using the same mechanism as for the other Qteks.
But holding the power + camera for 1 second, then releasing the power button, but still holding the camera button will do nothing.
Anyone got an idea ? Going to search around on the net to see if i can get more information.
Thanks
The world has changed, apparently!
Anyone have updates on this subject?
Seems that the front camera isn't listed on DirectShow...
Anyone knows a solution?
Thanks

BIG camera problem

Hi,
I've a big camera problem with my new prophet (i-mate jamin).
This is a photo taken with the camera, you can notice the vertical line I can't kill :x
I've tried a different camera program (Coolcamera) but the result are still the same...
Do you have any suggestion before I trew it out of the window?!
up
Yikes!
It seems to me like your CMOS camera is faulty...
Time to make use of your warranty...
There seems to be not much you can do exept maybe try some other camera software just in case. (CoolCamera).
If it also displays the same line then it's a CMOS problem.
Good luck!
Rayan
Yesterday I've had a nice speaking with the i-mate online helpdesk. They made me upload the Rom, but with no result. Then they suggest me the same solution you've proposed...
I brought it back to the shop and they changed it without any problem with a new one..(strange indeed..it made me think it was not the first return they had...).
Now I've a new s200 with no camera problem. Hope the random phone freeze are solved too, but I'm not so optimistic...let's see after some deeper tests...
Thanks for answering me,
andrea

If it's under warranty have it checked/repaired. It may be faulty or the connector may be loose. The danger in replacing the camera yourself is that it may not be the camera but a circuit board fault. If you do not have a warranty and are technically minded I can give a link for changing out or checking connection of the front camera.
Mike
thanks Mike; can I have that link please? where can I buy a new cam?
many thanks

I don't know of a source for the camera off-hand but I'll do some checking.

I have the same problem on my HTC TyTN. Videocalls don't seem to be working anymore (they used to). I've never updated the ROM.
What's odd is that I can't use any of the 2 cameras for videocalls eventhough the main camera works when it comes to taking pictures or making videos.
(I haven't tested the sensor camera since there is no possibility to use it outside of videocalls).
I would think my problem was software related.....
Any idea to fix this?

So far as I'm aware you can only use front cam for video calls. Why you can't make video calls anymore could be troublesome to track down. I suppose a hard reset would be going too far?? (got any full backups? - should have and then these issues are easily solved)
It sounds like the main camera is working normally. The front camera can be used as a regular camera or video recorder and even a web cam. There are a few applications available from Ateksoft that can get these things working for you. The software is not free although they may still have trial versions available:
Coolcamera: http://www.ateksoft.com/
This will also let you know if there are problems with the front camera.
Mike
Thanks for the info!
I've just installed Webcamera trial version. It works with the main camera, however if I choose the front camera, nothings happens (the application seems to not be able to intialize the front camera as it will hang undefinitely...)
I guess my front camera isn't working properly... That sucks as I can't imagine being without my HTC TyTN if I was to send it for repairs (hopefully I don't make that many videocalls).

Mmm.. that's a pity. paersonally I never make video calls but I would be annoyed if I thought it would not work if and when I choose to. Have you tried a hard reset - I know that can be a big hassle if you don't keep full backups but still it would confirm (more or less!) whether it's a hardware fault or not.
Mike
like i sow in other topic this is common problem for many users (within me) , i expect it to be something else than hardware problem ...
same problem here!
Any solutions?

Trinity camera sucks ?

Hi all. I`ve a trinity for a couple of yeras and now I need to use it camera...I found it is kind of useless. Daylight pictures get wrong colors, bad focus and demand a series of comands to manual adjust to get a poor picture. Night pictures just disapear...It is a black screen most of times. Video are even worse...
Is there any driver update or software that may improve my camera ?
I'm using a cooked ROM: 015TNYSXY radio 1.56.70.11
I had also tried with my original ROM and it is the same sh**.
Camera program is Version 4.02 (Build 27035)
Thanks a lot and I hope someone will help me...
