I have jasjar with latest rom from imate.
I have two major problem with my operator: TIM
1. follwing all the instructions about MMS on the TIM website I still get an error, receiving and sending MMS
2. changing the pin, I get "unknown sim error". I tried with two different sim, an old 32kB and a new one 128kB.
Any other italian reader with kaskar and TIM?
thanks
Rosario
Hi, I'm Italian and I get it working.
You need to:
1) set a new connection (I put it in My Work Connection): name timMMS,select a modem:Cellular Line (GPRS,3G),Access Point name: mms.tim.it
2) go to mms configuration (it's in the menu in the messaging centre), and you put the data you can find here: www.i.tim.it/file/0,,774,00.pdf
So server name TIM_mms (or whatsoever), gateway 213.230.130.89, port number 9201, server address http://mms.tim.it/servlets/mms
connect via Work, and IMPORTANT: choose Wap version WAP 1.2, not 2.0 or it doesn't work
Ciao
I configured it in this way too. But no luck, I still get an error after 30 secs sending messages, or retriving it.
Very strange, same sim, same parameters but different phone and everything works great.
I don't understand why in some jasjar they work and in others they don't.
Do you get an error when you try to change the pin code to you sim?
thanks
ciao
anyone of you got the MobileTV working ... which are the RTSP addresses ?
rpingar, I disabled the pin code.
Maybe you should try this (I haven't a clue, but...)
Please pay attention to put it in WAP mode 1.2

If you did and did not work try entering them manually from here http://www.mphone.co.uk/mms_wap_settings_t_mobile.html
tried the cab file but no mms send or receive as there isn't even a gprs connection. how can you set gpes manually? all i get in gprs is authentication and nowt else.

oh mate that worked a treat. thanks a lot
I have a wallaby with the XDA special edition ROM, and I'm using it with the Telefonica operator in Chile.
I just made the connections settings for the internet settings as the Telefonica company told me:
Cellular Line (GPRS)
APN: web.tmovil.cl
and in the dialing locations tab, under dialing patterns I set up the phone number to be dialed: *99***1# in the "For International calls, dial". (this is the only place where I can set the dialing number)
the user is "web" an password "web"
I believe all is ok, but when I try to make a connection, the phone shows the following message:
Phone:
UNKNOWN APPLICATION ..... Is this message ok?
and after that, it shows a Trouble Connecting message:
"The answering modem has disconnected. Verify the phone number and then try again. To change your... "
Any help?
Thanks a lot
i got that message when i didnt select the GPRS line...but you've done that :?
I'm thinking tha may be the radio version. My device have the 6.18.0 version.
Any ideas????
Unknown Application solved
Finally I solved the problem changing the ROM version in my XDA.
I installed the A.30.09 ENG T-mobile version, with the same settings for Telefonica in Chile and every thing connected OK.
Dear friends of XDA-developers, what do you think about this?
I has to be something with the different systems between Europe and America???
I thought that that was impossible to cross network settings accross other carriers ie o2 over orange internet too but igotta thinking theoretics again an thought back to basics an realized a description change "ityhere" an there "an sum proppa details umite jus be able to piggy back it altho as previously stated iaint rooted an am unable atmo indespite phone comp sayin iusd 170gb data last month neityeedless say my endless searches for knowledge wud continue aslong as i new there is always a way for me to help others or improve possible security loops

Download and extract an ext rom from the ftp then install the mms cab file to your device then apply the settings for your provider.
hi thanks for your help so far as i am still new two all this would you be able to send me the link and some more info on how do set it all up thanks
You could use this Orange GPRS & MMS setup cab.
Copy it to your phone & run it & all the settings will be installed for you.
If your pay as you go you will need to make a slight tweek to the mms settings (remove the "C" from the server name)
Hope this is helps.
If Mister B's last post won't be of help to you, here's the link to the ftp's ext roms; ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/Extended_Roms/. Download and extract the zip file. What you need is the cab file which part of its filename is MMS. You'll have to go to your provider's support home page for mms settings.
still no luck
hi thanks for all your help so far i have try Orange_UK_Contract_Magician.CAB still not luck it still not working
i try to have a look on the ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/Extended_Roms/ but i get a error windows cannot access this folder make sure you typed file name correctly and that you have
premission to access the folder
so what the next best think to do thanks
This may sound stupid, but you need to log in to have access to the ftp. Maybe it is some setting in your browser. Try using an ftp program and use xda for the username and password.
Hi
I've downloaded the ROM & upgraded my Vario 2, without any problems.. The only issue I have is MMS, I've set it up using the settings listed on the T-Mobile site, but when I attempt to send a msg to check it, it connects OK, but doesn't send the message...
Can any other T-Mobile UK Vario 2 users let me know their settings?
Thanks!
You can download all the T-Mobile customisation cabs here inc the MMS settings:

Out of interest did you have to CID unlock your phone or did it just let you upgrade the ROM?

Click to collapse
Don't know if tis is a stupid question, but could you use MMS before?
With my Vodafone (UK) contract I had to add MMS as a separate package.
I just used the settings on the T-Mobile website and it works perfectly.
There are 2 parts to setting up MMS:
1. Setting up the connection settings: http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=1677
2. Configuring the Picture Messaging settings: http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=1677
Got it sorted - tried the settings listed on MoDaCo, which didn't work... found a pdf on T-Mobile's website, with different settings & those worked...
Thanks to everyone who replied!
Could you please put the link in to the pdf in case someone else needs this? Thanks.
Hi
The PDF is in the T-Mobile users area & you need a valid number to access it. However the settings are:
Setting up your Picture Messaging profile
1. Select the Start menu and then Messages.
2. Select Messaging
3. Select Menu and Tools then select Options
4. Tap on MMS
5. Tap on the Servers tab.
6. Tap on New.
7. In the box Server name enter T-Mobile MMS
8. In the box Gateway enter 149.254.201.135
9. In the box Port number enter 8080
10. In the box Server address enter http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
11. Select the Connect via drop down list and select your internet profile (T-Mobile Internet or T-Mobile GPRS
(Web))
12. Select the WAP Version drop down list and select WAP 2.0
13. Select OK
14. With T-Mobile MMS highlighted, tap on Set As Default
15. Select ok
Hope this helps!
thank you!
Hey guys
I use Wind mobile and the 3vo rom found in this forum.
My only problem is that the connection setup included in the rom is very old and it doesn't have wind mobile in its database.I went around looking for a newer version to install and I found this in another forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12807575#post12807575
"HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829.cab"
However, upon installing,I don't know how to access the new program. When I select the connection setup,I get the following message:
"Can't find 'Connectionsetup' (or one of its components).Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available."
Anyone with solutions to this?
THanks.
You can set this up manually through the settings->connections->GPRS
The settings are there:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1691746-Wind-Internet-Settings
Problem solved.
Here is the solution:
I called up Wind and they weren't much help.
And yes I have gone through the link jeromecornet posted above before.
Anyways,I installed Wind's rom just to see the specific setting for
the maple.
I had to use do the instructions posted on this page below to accessed them
as they were deny.
http://stevenharman.net/blog/archive/2008/10/03/windows-mobile-internet-connection-sharing-hack.aspx
I Used Total Commander to access the Registry.
Here are the settings for the MMS to work correctly on the HTC Maple
for Wind. This is for anyone else in the same place with a wind mobile
HTC Maple.
Start - Settings - MMS Settings
Menu - MMSC settings
Add this in
NAME: WIND MMS
MMSC URL: http://mms.Windmobile.ca
WAP GATEWAY: 74.115.197.70
PORT: 8080
CONNECT VIA: WAP Network
MAX SEND SIZE: 300k
WAP VERSION: wap 2.0
Than go to Connections in Settings than GPRS and add the following
two:
1)
Name:Wind Internet
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: internet.windmobile.ca
leave the rest BLANK.
2)
Name:Wind MMS
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: mms.windmobile.ca
leave the rest BLANK.
This is settings straight from the Windmobile 6.5 rom.
Happy image texting!
