Hi all, I come from the Wizard forums with a few querrys:
1-Can the Shift boot off of an external USB device? Reason I ask is becuase I have an external DVD-Multi Writer, and I would like to take Veesta off of the Shift and put XP PRO on it instead. But if it cant boot from USB, then there is no way to do it.
2-With saying that, are the propriatary HTC drivers availible for the Shift? If I *upgrade* to XP PRO, ima have to have the drivers for the WiFi and the SIM slot I assume.
Any and all help is appreciated!
I take it nobody reads in the wizard forums?
Please, use the search; or just a glance at the thread titles would answer both of your questions.

If you search the same X1 forum that you posted this in, you'll find another thread already dedicated to this topic
Not to be rude, but check out more info here:

The last I read was that people were hoping to use the headphone / 4-pole jack on the phone to enable TV-Out, although I don't think there have been any breakthroughs as of yet. It would probably require some heavy work to get it going...
My best guess anyways, but it would be nice to say the least!
sorry didnt know there was another post
thanks!
I just installed Gremote and it works fine when my phone was plugged in via USB. Then I took out the cord and realized that my Aspire doesn't have bluetooth. Is there a way to use this app over a wireless network? When I select my laptop profile in Gremote, I get a Connection Timeout error.
WTF?
See Attachment.
Click on General Discussion or other forum.. this is obviously the wrong section pal.

You attaching screen shots of what he did wrong (which is posting in the wrong section, using up bandwidth, adding to server load, and general clutter) only adds to much of the same. Add in the sarcastic and unhelpful message to educate somebody with all of FOUR posts under his belt, and your response is the real "WTF" post here.
Perkins - For general WinMo software, this is probably a better place to get answers:

(see how easy it is not to be a jerk?)
I find it much easier to remove the filter and say the first thing that comes to mind.
Thanks for the life lesson though.
I had the idea (well, just a though) a while ago when I understund how the phones os works so I though I could just rip some cables and make myself a computer keyboard hooked up to the phone. I was like "Why not!" and then I realize my phony isn't some super duper future incredible desire htc witch could have a keyboard driver like in some video I saw. I want it because just for the sake it could be done.
So before I start ripping spare ports I would like to know is this possible?is it possible but it doesn't support it without modding? or this is already done and I miss it cause I couldn't find it
Also is this in the right section?
So I'm guessing the bootloader must be cracked first in order to let the device go on host mode.
tip: look to the usb host thread

check battery pins, if it only does it with that rom - post in that roms thread, or better still, don't use that rom, also stop multi posting, people will be even less likely to answer.
edit - never mind, i see you are making progress in another thread.
maybe u should use a different rom that has a apps killer.. or use some other sd card ?
(sorry dorimanx still can't type in your BEST ROM 4 the HD2 thread..) need to spam some rnd BS here first ^^
