First Rom Update - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I read there is a rom update for the Jasjar mobile device. Can anyone post a link and a guide how to update your rom....

search the forum
its explained step by step in universal upgrade

I just did my first ROM update ever, last night. If you hve a jasjar, you can download the ROM from i-mates' website with full 3 page instruction in PDF format.
make sure you got some food and drink ready though. The update only takes about 20 minutes, providing you got no probs with Activesync. But re-installation of your programs will take substantially longer. Good Luck.

Qtek 1010 ROM software upgrade Available Now

Dear friends
this is my first time to post in this forum which has lots of informative and cool stuff which i like so much.
first :-
i would like to thank all people who's running this forum, who spend lots of time and efforts.
second :-
I have got recently the latest ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade 3.16.52 and ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 which has lots of fixes.
i upgraded my Qtek 1010 and it works smoothly with no problems, it was piece of cake process, i have tested the GPRS services which is not lanuch yet officially in Saudi Arabia but maybe it might be available for the public later last year ( could be last quarter of this year ) i was one of the lucky persons to have a Test account as beta tester or friendly customer.
this upgrade has GPRS suspend mode which enables you while your device in power saving mode to keep the connection or end it.
also it comes with small utility which is called ( WM ) WModem, this utility will simulate your device as wireless modem and let your PC/Notebook be connected to network wirelessly, it has two connection type Serial and IrDA.
i'll try to find free host site and upload it there when i got free time.
if anybody interested to have it, Please send me login Access details for FTP server so i can upload it there.
the file size for ( RUU ) Radio Unit Upgrade version 3.16.52 is 13.3 MB and the ( RSU ) Radio Stack Upgrade version 3.23.01 is 1.7 MB
best regards and have a great weekend.

Othman
Dear all
finally it's done and you can enjoy the latest upgrade and here's the instructions.
How to upgarde your Qtek 1010 ?
i have uploaded the Software ROM upgrade at the following site with the help of our friend Antonin Hruska LumpiStefan who provide me free space and thanks to Markh for mirrored the updates with some UK 02 specific instructions .
Download the upgarde files from the mirrored site since the prevous link was not working here
1. Backup your data via ActiveSync or onto a Storage Card. if you don't have ActiveSync you can dowload it here
2. Upgrade the CE build before upgrading the Radio build by running this file first RUU 3.16.52.exe
3. Attach your Qtek 1010 directly to the computer with either a USB cable or Serial cable
4. Ensure the ActiveSync connection is running and is connected to the device and make sure it's connected to the power.
5. After the hard reset the CE update is complete.
6. Reconfigure CE and restore your data.
7. Attach Your Qtek 1010 to the computer again and disconnect the power supply and make sure it's charged Minimum 70 % & it's highly recommended to set off the Security PIN or disable it through start/settings/personal/phone as advice by Mr. Waleed in another threat on this forum
8. Run this file RSU 3.23.01.exe
9. After the soft reset the radio update is complete.
if your device didn't start the upgrade for any reason do hard rest and follow the instructions carefully
good luck and enjoy your little toy
if you need to contact me for any reason this is my E-Mail address [email protected]
Regards.

Othman great job man. I upgraded my QTEK and everything is working great. The GPRS always on is excellent so as the WM. really man you saved us all. Great job man 2 thumbs up. I will be posting the ROMs on my site too very very soon so i can help in spreading the message.
The upgrades are great, thanks again.
Really GOOD. Othman, thanks a lot, you are our rescuer.
Hi
Guys did any one tried the upgrade for t-mobile?
or did any one used the upgrade for 900/1900 XDA?
Thanks
The Qtek upgrade will only upgrade the Qtek (unless you twiddle the bits in the binary as described elsewhere on this forum).
BUT it cannot be used to upgrade a T-Mobile or AT&T device. The build is 900/1800 only and you will lose you 1900 ability, ie it won't work in the USA.
Where can i find the new English upgrade for t-mobile pocket pc?

Brick Avoidance During A Rom Switch...

I've read EVERY thread on this board in both Universal sections (not including accessories.)
There are lots of "how to UNBRICK your Universal" threads, but all threads with references on how to avoid bricking it in the first place are convoluted.
Can someone take up the task of making "The Definititive Guide to Rom Switching your Universal" that
1. Works for ANY HTC Universal variant
2. Starts w/ the standard "sync up your Universal" warning
3. Lists all software needed (extended rom unlockers, the roms themselves, radio update)
4. Runs all software in order so that the dreaded county code and syncing errors never show up
Can someone take up this task?
Again, this isnt about "best software" for the Universal. We are JUST talking about Rom switching...
i agree this would be really helpful. it's a tricky path to tread and a "one-stop" how to guidev would be great.
i agree this would be really helpful. it's a tricky path to tread and a "one-stop" how to guidev would be great.
Yeah this would be a great Sticky, especially as it looks like we are all about to receive a new ROM thanks to one of XDA-Developers users having just got a new Exec with a newer ROM version than the one available on O2's website.
BTW does'nt O2's website give detailed instructions on reflashing the original ROM that they have available for d/l? I cant get that far on their site as you need to fill out IMEI/Phone Number/Inside leg measurement etc before you can d/l it.
Can someone d/l it and see it it comes with instructions for applying and post info here, maybe its what we are looking for?
Here is the Pdf doc that comes with the software download
@bakerk, can you open the .exe in winrar or similar instead of running it? If you can is there seperate files in the .exe? i.e. an flash application and the actual ROM file? Or is the file not a self extracting archive?
Regards
-edit btw thanks for the posted pdf!
ok here is a list of the files looking in through winrar
\EnterBL.exe 5.496
\GetDeviceData.exe 10,104
\ms_.nbf 10,485,932
\nk.nbf 66,715,820
\radio_.nbf 10,633,900
\ROMUpgradeUt.exe 77,824
\RUU.conf 156
\RUU.dll 200,704
\UI.dll 282,624
As I recall these are the standard files for an upgrade
K
So it should be okay to use that update from O2 along with the ROM dump from Moandal http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=35810 when it gets posted, to upgrade all our Exec's to Moandal's Exec's latest ROM?

TMO Wing 4.26.531 soon?

On T-Mobile web site I noticed information about "How do I perform a device software upgrade?"
http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52082.htm#top.
it refers to
"How do I determine what software version I have? (T-Mobile Wing™)"
http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52081.htm?
which states that "The new software version is 4.26.531".
But new software in not available yet http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
maybe when WM6.1 comes out?

It's very very unlikely that T_Mobile is going to release WM 6.1, but even if it's just WM6 it's still a much awaited update since it's the only one WIng users have gotten!
Oh by the way, i really hope too that it's WM 6.1, since ATT released it for their phones(Tilt).
according to microsoft, WM6.1 doesn't even exist. i contacted customer service asking when it was coming out because the internet isn't helping and after about 5 minutes of looking, the guy said WM6.1 doesn't exist and to talk to HTC about windows mobile updates . . .
The Wing ROM update 4.26.531 is available!
I too was frustrated with T-Mobile's website that was missing a link to the download for the new ROM for the Wing. My wife has a Shadow that is also made by HTC. I downloaded a ROM update for her phone and I copied the URL and changed the last part from shadow to wing. Amazingly, the link worked. Yesterday I was on the phone with tier-3 support from T-Mobile and they escalated the issue to the web development team. We didn't expect an immediate resolution due to the holiday.
So here is the valid link to download the T-Mobile Wing ROM update that http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52082.htm#top says is available.
The ROM update is at: http://member.htc.com/RuuDownload/T-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=wing
Happy Updating your ROM! I am so glad this worked.

Any idea what is changed / new in this update?
has anyone tried this yet?
I'm updating my backups and getting ready to try this. I'll let you know how it goes ,and in a few days to let you know how it works in my machine.
can you post anything you notice right away? i'm hoping this is 6.1, what else would it be?
I have a T-Mobile Wing USA.
I am flashing it right now:
1. I extracted the RUU_signed.nbh and flashing via MMC.
2. It scans 2 OS's from the nbh.
3. Reading second OS from SD!
4. Flashing second phase OS
5. Success, Press any key.
6. T-Mobile Splash
7. Original Windows 2nd splash (no indication of version)
8. Typical alignment screen
9. Stylus tutorial screen
10. Password screen
11. complete screen
12. Customization tool
13. 3-5 minute wait then reset
14. T-Mobile start up jingle
15. Installing MyMobiler for initial browsing of the phone now.
Follow up with pics in a little bit.
Pictures are now added. As stated by the next OP the ROM is much more efficient/faster than original stock. But it is WM6. No need to downgrade if you are using custom a custom rom with 6.1.
To upgrade/downgrade with HardSPL use winrar to remove the "RUU_signed.nbh" from exe. Rename to heraimg.nbh put on the root of MMC and install.
Note: I already have went back to "Just2Clean Wing - zcink Edition". I won't be able to answer any questions. I have to have threaded sms and a lightweight ROM.
It's still WM6. There's 17.5mb or ram available without any mods, and it seems to run a little faster, but it's still the same rom. It's version 4.26.531.1. Basically, tmo doesn't care what we want. If you want 6.1, buy a new phone or make your own.
I can't uprom
I did HardSPL so that I could uprom.
But I can't uprom that is from T-mobile website.
How do I have to do ?
If you have a HardSPL'd Herald/Wing/Atlas, use 7zip or WinRAR to extract the contents of the file. Delete the SPL.nbh file. Flash.
I tried it, but I'm disappointed with it... It's just more useless old junk... at most, it might be a good starting point for a ROM base.
well i updated, wing seems SLOWER!!! well after a few resets it's about the same, overclocking to 247.
2 things i've noticed, if you are in the text message program, with all your messages, and you receive a new one, the pop up still comes up, i find that very annoying. also, you now have MMS options in the menu option in the text message area.
the COMManager looks "cleaner" and smaller as well
I didn't install anything but MyMobiler and the ROM seemed fast. No overclocking either. But again I won't live with out threaded sms.
I noticed that the radio rom is upgraded to 03.21.90. Does anyone notice any difference with the new radio rom or is it basically the same as 03.07.90 that came with my device.
what are you using for threaded SMS?
So far I don't see any major differences. It seemed a little faster, but it still benchmarks the same. The only minor diff was more available ram before modding, but once I cleaned out the startup folder I had 26mb just like before. I'll see if the radio makes any diff at work Tuesday.
Happy Memorial Day!
Well it's been 16 hours since my last soft reset and it's still got 23mb of ram available. That's practically unheard of on a stock rom. I still need to cook my own to get rid of this MyFavs crap, but this seems like a good starting point...

updates....

from where to get the updates of p3400i ??plz telll or link..
Updates for gene=P3400i
You cant update anything on p3400i as it alrdy comes loaded with wm6.All you can do is rom flashing. But be careful...THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROCESS AND MUST BE EXERCISED WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
Searh the rom development forum page and you will find a complete step by step guide to update your rom.BUT YET AGAIN, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPDATE YOUR ROM IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY STEP.ASK FOR HELP.
A SINGLE WRONG STEP COULD DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE PERMANENTLY AND YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT AT ALL.
You have to take it to service centre then!

Installing cabs/ROM for Dummies

i am very new in ROM development, i am learning alot from this site, thank you guys for the professional work.
i read all the posts of X2 dev. i am understanding the procedures, but all i need is a baby step by step how to insert those ROM cabs from the beginning and which tools/ways , i know it's mentioned in previous threads but no baby steps,
i need only more basic details.
my X2 is very slow, the regular update is very bad, hangs and probs.
i saw the new energy cabs but don't know how to start.
if somebody has the time to explain i would be great full, if no,i will thank you also.
... and please, for the love of God, don't reply with naive posts, such as "Just use SEUS to update your phone", as we already know that this does NOT work for many people.
Thanks in advance
OMG, you first need to be not naive before saying others to be! There is no ROM development yet available to X2; you first need to have a Hard-SPL! As of now, the only thing you can do to improve your phone performance is to:
Step 1: strip down the phone to bare WM. 6.5.3 using SEUS update until it reaches customization screen, and reset you phone.
Step 2, install necessary cab from official R3 ROM. there is another thread detailing the possible utility of each cab, so read thru it and decide by yourself which cab you want to install.
Step 3, for those who wants to install Manila or other existing HTC ROM, there are plenty out there, you need to install an official SPB Shell first, then apply the cab version (not the ROM version as we don't have Hard SPL!)
Step 4, then apply the necessary fixes (SD fix, clock reset fix, accelerometer)
step 1 can be donr without seus just "clear phone" does the trick and than manually install needed n desired cabs

Oh dear, you complete and utter tool. Nobody was labelled naive... read the post properly. You can't get to WM 6.5.3 if you can't update your handset. Let me explain in clearer terms...
SEUS WILL NOT UPDATE SOME HANDSETS. FOR SOME PEOPLE, THIS IS NOT AN OPTION.
As far as I'm aware, SEUS checks the software version, and ALSO checks the IMEI and CDA numbers against its own records. If any handsets do not match exactly, it refuses to update the software. That's why I asked for people not to naively reply with "Use SEUS". Like you did. Prick.
You are talking about SEUS, but what about people (like me) who even can't get to that part. - boatloader problem (there was some threads before) - what about that?
Clock reset fix?
Hi, can I know where can I get the clock reset fix?
I tried searching the forum for it but no luck...
Thanks in advance
