Hi
I have just moved to New Zealand. In Germany I enjoyed the xda very much... but here... I have the unlock problem + some others...
I bought the the xda approx. a year ago. Now my questions:
1. Can anyone tell me what to do after another with the version I (probably ) have, in order to unlock the xda?
2. What do I have to configure that I can use the xda here in New Zealand with its existing GPRS network?
Thank you all for your support and ideas!
Cheers
Tobias
The easiest way to unlock will be to install the Developers Rom 1.1. Vodafone here in NZ have a GPRS setup guide for the Qtek (step by step with screenshots), contact them for a copy (I could not find it on their website, but I am sure I have a copy somewhere, so let me know if you can't get a copy and I will see if I can find mine)
Cheers
Nick.
Thank you.
Sorry in advance for punishing those that have read this question uncountable times.....:
How/Where do I install the Developers Rom?
- where do I get it from?
- what does it cost?
- what do I have to do with it?
blablabla
Thanks for your patience
Tobias
it s a free ROM (Thanks to you guys @ XDA-developers) and you will find the howto page with all links up there in the navigation menu.
Everything is explained.
enjoy
Pocket PC 2003
I am running Pocket PC 2003 in New Zealand. Didnt have to change much, just the voice mail, sms message center numbers and the GPRS settings. seems to work well. I presume you are talking about the simlock. There is a Util that will unlock your device view http://xda-developers.com/XDAunlock/
Thats good news... and
I have gone through the plenty of information of the site here... however
Is there any "don´t worry - be happy - solution" around = e.g. somebody has prepared it totally.... and just put the card in and say "run"....
= can I buy a complete card somewhere or something?
I do not have time to do all those things needed :-(
any ideas ?
thx
tobias
Where abouts are you in NZ. I could possibly create you a SD card but I cant promise that it will work.
kewl... that would be great.
I am in the Auckland region. Waiheke Island to be more specific.
I can come on the mainland any time. A very good friend of mine is trying to get that xda unlocked. He is in Germany right now but unfortunately he has nearly no time. I gave him the xda THREE month ago to try to unlock but I never found time. In August he is coming to New Zealand and doing a tour here. So he can bring the xda with him and then we could check it out with the SD card.
that would be cool
thanks for your help
Tobias
The XDA's bought in NZ are unlocked so if you have to you can get them in NZ for about $1500NZ
nono..
I HAVE one... It did not bring it with me to NZ cause I hoped my friend in Germany could unlock it first...
I do not want to buy one. In August my friend comes and he brings the xda with him. Then I would be glad to know somebody here in NZ that could unlock my xda.
Can you do that?
Thanks
Tobias
nz gprs setting
go to this site:
http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobiles/05.1_makes_and_models.jsp
Then look for qtek 1010-wap&gprs guide and download the settings
to jason.moodie
hi,
where did you get the your qtek pc2003 update from?
I have a qtek but runs on pc2002. My radio version is 3.23.01
and rom version:3.1652eng. I bought my qtek in NZ.
I am trying to get the new windows mobile update but it
is still not available yet.
PPC2003PE
My phone has Radio ver 4.21. And bootloader 5.22. The rom ver is now 3.04.00 ENG. It was purchased in NZ unlocked.
The files I used to put the new OS on the phone are below on one of my old sites temporarily.
R E M E M B E R do not overwrite the boot loader and make a backup of your existing ROM first using the wallaby boot loader and an SD card. I backed up both the CE and BOOT ROM just in case.
This is not an official release and it may contain bugs (Not that I’ve found any, seems to work better than before 8) ) . There were a few regional settings you need to change. You will also have to re-enter the voice mail number +64 021 700 700 for NZ. It may not be compatable with some old software also.
I take no responsibility if this doesn’t work, but it did work for me.
Active Sync 3.7 3,803KB
PPC2003PE 15,647 KB
XDARIT 329 KB
i cant send or receive mms from my spv m1000. it says some were that it has a mms composer but not on mine .how do i get it working the phone is on pay as u go.bear in mind with reply iam a complete novice at this
check your rom version. the original orange rom didnt come with mms functionality. If your version is lower than 1.66.230 then it wont have MMS. The update is available on the Orange UK website here:
http://web.orange.co.uk/assets/sw/RUU_v1.1_OrangeUK_v3.66.1.230_ship.exe

mms composer
thankyou ever so much iowe u big time
No probs! If you are feeling adventurous there is a much more stable ROM (and it's WM2003 Second Edition) available for your device. It means a bit of cooking, but I did it when I had my M1000 and found it a lot more stable than the official Orange ROM. I might even still have my original files somewhere that I customised for Orange UK, if you are interested let me know and I can upload them somewhere for you.
Fin
funny u should mention that.im feeling a bit risky at the mo.if you could find the link i would love to have a go at it and any ting else you might think would benifit me on my quest for the perfect spv m1000
Just been trying to upload the files but can't seem to get access to the uploads folder. It lets me log in, just not copy any files over. Will try again later...
ok mate no worries im in no rush
Will be on the ftp in 12 minutes time. Will post the link when it is up!
Here it is!
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Himalaya/UploadsSE/
The file you want is Win2K3SE for M1000 Orange UK.rar
Just click on the HimaUpgradeUT exe and off you go!

Wouldn't it be better to just get the latest T-Mobile (USA) rom from T-Mobile?
http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
It does include the AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! IM Client, but do be aware they you are charged a text message for each message sent and recieved via that client.
Hi all,
I have an HTC HD2 phone that I spld and now running RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe.
I purchased it from Sydney a month ago while on busniess, and now back home in the states.
I want to know, what is the safest ROM out here on XDA that I can start with and maintain updates as they come. I see that there are so many different ROMS on this forum and I am confused what is what and what do each ROM do different then others etc... and I want one and stick with it. Is that an Okay route?
I just downloaded RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe
Is this better than my other one I had running named "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe"
To summarize, is there a cheat sheet or list of all ROMs that can work with my HTC HD2 that shows screen shots or anything that can help me isolate a ROM?
Thanks
The one you have is the best in terms of released HTC stock ROMs - that 2.10 ROM is for the T-Mobile HD2 so will have settings/restrictions on it specifically for T-Mobile customers.
I'd stick with 1.66 for the time being and then maybe look into cooked ROMs if you need other features
If you flash this 2.10 US rom you are trapped with the included SPL 2.08 (if I am coorect) and you cannot downgrade at the moment to SPL 1.42 in order to use the available HSPL 1.42.
You can still flash roms via SSPL but no radios.

only if they flash using the sd card method - active sync will be fine
Don´t think so.
If he starts the "offical" file:
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe
He will flash including SPL and will have therefore the new SPL.
Only if he is using SSPL than he will keep his original SPL and his original radio, but depending on his radio the 2.10 rom might be not booting.
I guess you are right if has the HSPL1.42 allready.
Because of all the discussions about the 2.10 rom (and the implications) I think it is better thinking twice or triple before clicking on that file ...

no it won't, it only flashed the ROM - the only way to flash an SPL back on is via sd card method. I've flashed many stock ROMs on my phone via activesync and I still have HSPL on it
if the file he downloads is an exe file, then i think it replaces everything, spl and radio
if you however extract the exe using winrar or whatever, just extract RUU_Signed.nbh - this is the ROM image, flash this with customRuu and you're sorted
Then how come I've used the stock .exe files with HSPL and it's not replaced the SPL?

indeed.
Again, only flashing via SD card method will overwrite your SPL. You can use directly an official .exe or extract it,. either way, as long as you have HSPL alrady on the phone, any flash via activesync will never overwrite your hspl
Hi, I installed the tmo us as I indicated above with no issues. I did see that the pictures are a lot better at night and the phone seems more stable.
Out of interest, if you go into the bootloader, what SPL does it show?
1 more question guys, do you think the HD2 which will be released in TMobile USA, will have their official rom, I mean 2.0 and above, so we cant install HSPL for it, right?
More than likely, yes - otherwise the ROM is pontless!!

I really appreciate if anyone can get one for me. THANK YOU
Moved to general as not rom development
if you don't have one by now I can back mine up for you.. if you like..
can i have one too??? thanks in advance
Yes, I'm in need of the Mobicility rom for the HTC Snap as well.
Please upload, it would be greatly appreciated!
Can anyone help out here ?
Also, I've just switched to mobilicity from Wind. I can make calls on my HTC Maple but the data isn't working as of yet. Do you think I can flash my Unlocked Wind HTC Maple to the Mobilicity HTC Snap rom to get it to work ?
Thanks in advance

Add the apn for data, use google if you don't know them. I think its wap.davewireless.com and no user/pass but not sure.
Goto
Setting --> Connections --> GPRS --> MoWAP
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.davewireless.com
Doesn't matter what mobilicity customer service says don't change "Work" to "The Internet". Data connection will drop so often you will hate the service.
Internet Explorer Setting:
Menu --> Tools --> Options --> Connections
Automatically Detect Setting: Checked
Network: "The Internet"
i have a mobilicity snap (maple s520)

Make that two of us !
Does this mean the ROMs here don't work in the Mobilicity HTC Snap/Maple/whatever it is?
I have one as well. If you can give instructions, I can give the ROM it to you. I just got the phone a few weeks ago and am new to Windows smartphones.
I found this ROM Extractor, I'm not sure how it works but can you find out? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335540
Also this NBH extractor (FOR SD UPGRADE) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2122307

providing it is one thing but actually telling him how it works is better... or atleast find how to use it for him...
I would love how to explain how these work but I don't know myself, I'm just finding all the sources for someone who has the mobilicity HTC Snap.
I actually find an easy program that someone can use, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377514&highlight=ROM+Backup, Plug your phone in, and it will read your system files. Extract the .nbh file to your.
Hey guys, I tried to get you the ROM from the Mobilicity HTC Snap but whatever I tried didn't work. I have a Mac with Windows 7 on boot camp, tried rebooting into Windows natively but whenever I plugged in the phone via USB, nothing would show up in those utilities. I tried installing ActiveSync, which isn't compatible with Windows 7 and instead asked me to get the newer version (Windows Mobile something...), which is only compatible with Vista.
Hopefully someone else with Windows Vista or XP can extract the ROM for you.
BTW, have you tried contacting HTC directly for the ROM? Also, if the phone is less than 30 days old you can get a replacement from Mobilicity...
