Computer Crashed Need Files again
A While back i asked for the T-Mobile MDA Rom Files however since then i have lost them due to that my Hard Drive Crashed, The Link here dose no longer work I have Downloaded the Updates for both the T-Mobile and Cingular MDA(8125) However Dose anyone know where i can get the Original Rom Files for Both of these So i can do a Total Rom Flash and not just an Update Thank you So much ^_____^

It does include the AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! IM Client, but do be aware they you are charged a text message for each message sent and recieved via that client.

I have been speaking with uk t-mobile tech dept yesterday and today about a problem I'm having and after washing their hands of it they said they do not know of any plans of a new rom release. I'm going to call German tech support on monday to see if they are any more clued up.

yep, the customer service dept are usless, speak to the tech support guys, they assured me there is a release that is ready but will not be on the website untill the end of the month. :wink:

Uploading problems
Guys, only problem, only 1 x 1GB sd Card! How can I upload ROM to this without uploading 1GB of data???
Is there anyway round this? Sorry I am new(ish). If anyone can point me to the thread for uploading whole ROM, that would be great.

I hope t-mobile UK do release a rom update, I'm still running 1.01.00 WWE! there are a few posts on here about people having trouble using the dumped 1.12 rom so I will wait until t-mobile release an offical update, I have done the bigstorage hack but I'm too worried about bricking my MDAc to try a rom update at the moment, unless someone knows of a confirmed rom that will work?

Hi, I am absolutely new to this, I am about to take delivery of an MDA Pro on T-Mobile, and i am wondering can i install say a jasjar or O2 rom image to get round some of the problems experienced with T-Mobiles roms?

yes, you can arbitrarily mix Windows Mobile core, Radio stack, and Extended ROM version.

jesus, what did you do? You've got me a little worried now since i'm looking into cooking roms or trying some other device roms on my sx66. I was under the impression that it was relatively safe if your careful.

i simply downloaded a rom update off the phone porivders website,ran it and my lil magican was no more lol
this is the Universal forum. Of course if you burn a ROM for a different device then it will make poof.
Back to the question - what were your problems with the T-Mobile ROM? Were they T-Mobile issues or Microsoft issues? Or radio stack?
Where can you get T-Mobile roms from other than the ones on the WIKI (which is missing links). Do T-Mobile UK publish them, as I could not see any sensible links when I was logged in.
After my rom update - which i must say 'touch wood' appears to be so much better than the tmobile rom - i used to use the tmobile PDA homepage however this is no longer available! Does anyone know the address??

Hey I just bought a new Cingular 8125 and I unlocked it already. But I want to change everything to T-Mobile software and programs. How would I go about doing that?
And how would I go about getting AIM because it's not on Cingular phones?

You need to do a CID unlock, as well as, the SIM unlock that is generically referred to as unlocking a phone. I believe that CID stands for Carrier Identification lock/unlock. Search the forums for info on how to do this. After that you will be able to install any of the available ROMs including the newly released (as of today) T-Mobile rom.

I just this with an 8125 - got the same error as you but if you get the files saved to your harddrive you should be good to go.

I tried to download WM6, but When asked for the serial number (mines begins with SZ and has alpha chars embedded in the number eg the format is: SZ9999AAA9999). Anyone manage to get it yet?
I'm wondering if my one a dud???? it was bought from TMobile UK direct.
Mine was bought directly from tmobile too, and has a serial number in the form HT999XX99999 and it downloaded fine.

Hi can someone help me with this,
basically i have downloaded the rom with the serial number from my t-mobile uk mda compact 3 pda phone, downloaded the file.
active snyc'd the device made sure the device was 100% battery life, loaded up the rom file, it got to 3% whilts the pda was showing red, green and blue on the pda then started a % bar, this then stopped on the pc they was an error at 3% saying the update utility needed upgrading.
please advise as i dont understand about flashing and surely this wm6 rom upgrade should work on a correct t-mobile uk mda compact 3 that is on contract with them
please can anyone advise in simple steps on what i need to do to bypass this error im getting as im getting no where at all.
im running vista premium with winodws mobile center.

That saying, if i went back to xp would it be simply plugging in the usb cable from the phone and using the rom file would it work or would i have to use other prog to cid unlock even though its a tmobile phone on a t-mobile contract
as your reply doesnt help things by just downgrading back to xp

Have any one tried this on T-Mobile's MDA US Version. When you go to official download site it says in one line that it is for all MDA. Does this means for all flavor of MDA of T-Mobile inclucing US version?
