How to Stop Annoying Popup: "Multiple Networks Detected

Hello everybody,
I live and work in densely congested WiFi areas. So whenever I switch on my WiFi connection to use it, I keep getting bombarded with the message "multiple networks detected" which i then have to hide only to be hit with another five seconds later. It is seriously annoying and makes anything I have to do over WiFi very painful.
I have discovered PocketWinc which is a serious improvement on navigating WiFi networks. I would love to simply use PocketWinc as my network selection and disable any of the in-built capability. Does anyone know how to stop the built-in software from scanning and reporting new networks? Is there a registry setting to disable the automatic scan or at least to stop the dreaded popups???
Any help greatly appreciated. Thx. Ian
I am not 100% sure about this but check your registry under :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WLan\StringTable
Check the value of the item called "Recover WiFi".
If it is not set to 0, try setting it to zero.
Is this anygood?

I think that application just does what I specified above.
It can also completely diable WZC Wireless if you want to use another program to manage your wireless connection.

I just checked and I don't have a WLAN service shown under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services. In fact I checked through the whole registry and I couldn't find anything resembling something WiFi ' ish. That said I am new to the PPC registry.
P.S. I am on Windows Mobile 2003SE if that makes any difference.
Anyone know what registry setting I change in WM2003SE to disable the WZC since I don't seem to have the one mentioned above? Or can anyone confirm that WZCDisabler will work on WM2003SE?
Thanks again!
Ian.
I am also on Windows Mobile 2003 SE on a BlueAngel.
What device do you have ?
I am surpirsed you don't have this setting.
It is likely that the WZCDisabler will work but it disables ALL of WZC, not just the popups.

Its an HTC Magician using a SanDisk 256Mb+WiFi SD Card. Here are the registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Services:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTAGSVC]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTIcon]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\CallerID]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HandsFree]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD\Accept]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD\Accept\TCP-443]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD\Accept\TCP-443v6]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD\Accept\TCP-80]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTTPD\Accept\TCP-80v6]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\MSMQD]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\OBEX]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\RPS]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\ScreenRotate]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\SMSReceiver]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Trusted]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\USSD]
BTW, I don't mind disabling WZC alltogether as I believe PocketWINC gives me the equivelant.

It's possible that your don't have WLan setting because you are using this SD WiFi card.
Did the card come with any drivers or utilities to install for managing wireless connections ? It could be this rather than WZC that is creating the popups.

Something I noticed earlier...

I was surfing my Hermes' registry earlier (if you could call it that), and I noticed an odd reg entry: in HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Internet Settings, it has a link to an HTC XML file:
http://www.htcmms.com.tw/tmo/mdavario-2.0.xml
Loading it up in Firefox/IE shows all sorts of information about the device (not my device in particular, just generic information about the device model I have) and various references to resources on the Open Mobile Alliance site... I did notice that the URL contains /tmo/, a reference to my phone being branded as a T-Mobile Vario 2 - who else has this link in their registry, and is it operator-specific like mine is?
Any idea what larger purpose this serves?
Not present on TyTn. So presume it's as you say a customisation file.

That's the "User Agent Profile" URL. "User Agent" here refers to your web browser, i.e. PocketIE. This URL is sent together with each HTTP request to the server. The server can then grab that file, analyse it, and modify the response to your request so that it matches best the capabilities of your device as described in said User Agent profile.
So, it should really be just device-specific and not carrier-specific. But you know how some carriers are - the want to get their name to wherever they can.
If you want more information, just google for "UAProf".

[QUE] How to get Cell information?

Hi guys,
is there any way to get cell broadcast information on my wm5? I want to see broadcast message.

How to NOT allow calls while on EVDO?

I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?
Thanks!!
Try going to phone settings > services > mode of operation > change from hybrid to EVDO only.

Hmm, that does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change?
How I dont see mode of operation under services list. This is all I have:
Location setting, Voice Privacy, Network Service, TTY Mode, and Time Sync
Found this on an old thread somewhere.
edit the registry to make that option appear in the services list. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHING\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Change HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0
I am on WM6 and the correct registry to change to make the "Mode of Operation" selection appear is: HiddenModeOperationPage (set value to 1 to hide, and 0 to show).
Cheers ...
