restarting problems - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

hi, my xda2 sunddenly restarts from time to time. dnt know the problem.
can you help me on this???
thanks

Hmm mine has started doing the same thing in the last 48 hours or so.
I'm running the latest official O2 ROM although for a while i was running WM2003SE too.
It's been randomly hard resetting and soft resetting all the time. 3 Hard resets and 4 soft resets today alone and I cant work out why. It does it even before I've installed any applications or anything.
Is it dead? Or does anyone know what might be causing it and have a potential fix? I was hoping it would last out till O2 released the XDA Exec....

Unattended random soft resets? Help!

So I'm a stickler for stability and it drives me nuts (we all have our weird problems ) when things don't run stably.
i.e. I take very good care of my Windows XP PC, it's been running for 12 weeks straight now without needing a reboot, power down, nothing. Rock solid. I love it.
I'm running the Cing 8125 with the new QTEK AKU2 ROM. It's been running pretty well but I'm having the same problem I had witht he original Cingular ROM.
For whatever strange reason and ONLY when I'm not using the 8125, it seems it will soft reset which makes it impossible to pinpoint the cause. I know it has soft-reset because
a) My memory is back at like 23MB free which is what I have after soft-reset.
b) None of my apps are running anymore - duh!
c) Best of all, I have a today plug-in that keeps track of uptime so I know EXACTLY when the soft-reset happened.
I can't understand what would trigger it, when I'm actually using it, the device is fast and solid. I'm not running any crazy apps that I would think could lead to this unstability.
How long have you gone without a soft-reset? What's bizzare is the most recent soft reset happened this morning at exactly 1:00AM!!!! What are the odds of a random reset happening exactly at 1AM? No, I don't have any notifications, alarms or anything around that time.
Here's the uptime meter I'm using if you want to try it out:
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/uptimemeter.shtml
I wish it would soft-reset when I was using it so I could at least know what was causing it.
The same is happening to me, although it soft resets once every 2 weeks or so. I must say I turn off the device every night, but it has happened to me 3 o 4 times since I installed de Qtek AKU2 ROM.
Any solution?
I mentioned this once before on here. I catch mine doing it at night sometimes (in the day its usually in my pocket so I don't know if it does it there).
I've only seen it a few times, maybe once every 2 weeks.
The odd thing is, that when restarting after it's random soft reset, it doesn't require me to enter my pin code. It's almost as if it knows that it's been naughty and was hoping I wouldn't notice
Maybe it's a "feature" of WM5??

Spontaneous hard resets?

Hi All,
Since I have my T-Mobile MDA (MDAII/QTEK2020) I have been experiencing several spontaneous hard resets. Very uncomfortable to say the least..... :?
Did anyone experience the same problem and what can be done to prevent this?
Help me please!
Thanks!
BTW: I already make daily backups of my MDA just to prevent data loss, however it is still very annoying when a hard reset occurs, as at that time I loose all my data incl. contacts and a restore takes approx. half an hour to complete.
maybe a newer rom would solve the problem
Have had the same problem starting today. In fact, it seems the phone will hard reset itself every time power is turned off, even after auto- poweroff. Extremely annoying!
It's quite a common problem (at least, i've got the same problem ). If you're running on WM2003, updating to WM5 might solve the problem, i've heard WM2003 can be quite a ***** when it comes to the battery power and hard resetting.

Keyboard un-responsive

Anyone else noticed the keyboard on their hermes becomes un-responsive at times or is it just my rom? Im runnign WM5 T-mobile uk standard rom and have noticed on several occasions the keyboard stops working. This is fixed by a reset of the device but i was wondering if im alone in this issue?
Thats happened to me a couple times already. I just do a soft reset and its good to go.
Happened to me a few hours ago. Again, just a quick reset solved it. It is kinda annoying though...
I have noticed it too, normally when popping out the keyboard a few times when sending a few texts
soft re-set's work to fix sometimes i can fix without restarting by closing the program i was using and reloading it but doesn't work all the time
am on the T-mobile Stock rom, i wonder if its a ROM bug or Hardware problem ?
htc 8525 cingular us few diff roms.. I had that at least ones on every single rom I tried
ether wm5 or 6 both do that..
softreset works but wish there was fix for that ..
Mine does this sometimes but all I do is hit the COMM manager button on the side and X out of it and it works fine again.. Just some goofy bug I was hoping was fixed in WM6 but no dice

Trinity keeps hard resetting loop !

Hi all.
I've had my Trinity for 3 years now, and all of a sudden, the phone keeps doind hard resets without notice.
I tried to install a different ROM, even a 6.5 one, but this problems keep happening.
Any idea what's the problem??
Thanks in advance.
Anyone??? no one had a problem like this before?
me too
OK,
now I have the same problem.
Screen suddenly get black with backlight on. Only option then is taking the battery out or wait until it's out of power. When this happens, Trinity will start fully reseted next time with every data on on it loss.
And yes, this happens over and over again, so you can really call it some kind of loop.
Good news however, that flashing new ROM would be almost wasted time.
Then it would be even dangerous whilest this happens on flashing.
Also I feel that it does not happen when all automatic power saving options are deactivated. Maybe it happens while switching the backlight off?!
Do you have SIM-Lock? Because I still have and GPS also not installed with oldest Win5 Rom ever (caught on ebay )
Any solution?
Thanks for every idea.
EDIT: I found also this threat beneath. This problems might be of same value.:

I experinced same problem anda discovered that was caused by using my blouetoth headset... stop use that device and nevermore have the problem... i'v heard here thiss issue..
I do not know if I had already said, but for me it worked with the procedure I linked in my last post. Say it was the screen plug inside. It sounds like botch but I have not had any problems anymore

Thank you. I'll try it and I'll let you know.
It's been so long since I started this thread. After all this time I have just found what it was causing my phone to shut down. for some reason it is the wifi. after I bought a tablet I had no further use for my phone's wifi so I turned it off and it's been almost a month and my phone never closed yet. one of this days I'll try a custom rom I have found here and I'll see if it was a software problem or hardware.
