You mean you don't have to reset your device for working with it?
will it be detected everytime you turn on your MDA?
Have it hanged ever?
So why mine doesn't work?
Hi
Remove the drivers from your PDA by going to start-> settings->system-> remove program. Select the entries for the Sandisk card and remove them. Soft reset your PDA and then try the drivers from the website for PPC 2003.
After the driver has been installed. Please do another soft reset of the PDA and then insert the card.
Here is the configuration that should be on your PDA. The bluetooth support should be disabled. Tap on the two arrows on the top of your PDA. go to settings-> click on connections and then the advanced tab. then Tap on the network card to connect to your access point (AP). AP browser will be grayed
out, This is normal as we didn't develop a utility for pocket pc 2003. Make sure you have the automatically connect to non-preferred network option checked. If there are no items listed in the wireless networks box you can add your AP by tapping on "Add new Setting" Type the network name for your wireless network. You can find this in the configuration of your router. After you enter the name make sure "connects to" is set to "The Internet" and then tap on the authentication Tab. If you are not using the wep key, you can uncheck the box for wep. If you are using it on your router make sure to set it exactly the way it appears on your AP. When you finished making all those changes please tap on OK that appears up at the top. IF your AP is on, and within the range, you should see connected next to it and the tower to the left of it will have a
blue ring around the top. If you see a red X on the tower and it shows unavailable you should check the following:
1-IS the AP on
2- Is it in range 3- are your settings correct.
Once you see the connected next to your AP you can tap ok twice and begin using your wireless access.
It works for me

When I put in my SD Wifi card into it, it doesn't seem to work. I know that my SD WiFi card is working as it works when I use it on a XDA II.
I went to check the Network Card on the Mini, it does not have the SDIO WLAN adapter in it. Is this normal? Does it mean that I have to install the adapter myself? Where can I find the adapter for XDA II Mini????
Thanks for your help as I am really new to this.

Sandisk Driver
I have an XDA Mini, downloaded and installed the latest driver from www.sandisk.com, have tried both the Wifi, and the combo wifi card, the wifi works well. The combo also works okay, although does have some lock ups, but IT DOES WORK!!!
I have been tyring to export ROM without doing any harm to device as only have it on load for a few more days, as want to bring the SDIO driver accross to my XDA2.
Have noticed the BT is having problems also, and would envisage an update is coming for this to bring up to new version that is on XDA IIs.

I shall try it when I get off work tonight.
Thanks again.
But one more question, does anyone know if the WLAN adapter should come with the XDA Mini?
You have to install the driver first .
After that no problemos
it work fine ( WifiFofum work very good !!!)

Hi,
the latest driver from sandisk that you have mentioned, is it this?
http://www.sandisk.com/download/Drivers/wifi/256mb-setup03.exe
or something better?
I'd tried this before in WM2003SE 2.06. No dice. If it works in Magician, I'm inclined to hope that the SDBus drivers has been updated, and (cross my fingers) that SDIO H/W slot is the same.
hmm....something more to be cheerful about during Christmas...
Yep, have a tried a few different versions, and all have worked okay. I had to give back the Mini before I could find the SDBus drivers, as had a similar idea for the XDA2.
Thanksfully still have a XDA2s to play with for a while.

I wonder why I didn't look at this before.
The Mini and JAM has the same version of SD drivers:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\SDIO]
"SDMemory"="0.25.00"
"Common"="0.25.60"
"SDBusDriver"="BSQ 1.2 + 0.25.00"
Whereas the 2.02/2.06 has these version:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\SDIO]
"Common"="0.15.10 HIMA"
"SDBusDriver"="0.15.00 HIMA"
Anyone can confirm the 2.20tl version?
The drivers are in the ROM though, and it's not a simple search and replace operation.
I wonder, would it be worth to upgrade the Himalaya with Magician ROM???
I'd quite a few pple now that says that the 256MB SD drivers for PPC 2003 works with the Mini now. I've tweaked the registries for the Himalaya, but only get as far to allow the wlan tools to recognise the card..still no joy.
Guess what...sd wifi of (256 combo) working....
I've managed to get the Wifi portion of the Sandisk Wifi 256 working
on my 206 ROMed XDA2 device.
The steps are abit complicated, so try at you own risks!
The steps are:
(a) download the sandisk 256 drivers from www.sandisk.com (256mb-setup03.exe)
(b) remove your XDA2 device from the cradle, and execute the file.
(c) Goto to the Microsoft ActiveSync folder, and look for this folder "SanDisk Corp\Wi-Fi_WINCE400"
(d) Within this folder, there is a Pegas.2577.CAB
(e) Using WinCAB Manager, open this CAB file
(f) Within the Pegas.2577.CAB file, there is another "SDBusDriver12.CAB" at file index 5.
(g) Now, download the Magician ROM (the SD card version) from the forum's ftpsite.
(h) Using dumprom, dump the contents of the Magician ROM and locate 2 files "SDBusDriver.dll" and "SDMemory.dll"
(i) Replace these 2 new files with the ones in the "SDBusDriver12.CAB"
(j) Re-save the "SDBusDriver12.CAB" and replace the file in "Pegas.2577.CAB"
(k) save "Pegas.2577.CAB" and connect the XDA2 device back to the cradle.
(l) install the Sandisk drivers following the prompts.
(m) Soft reset the XDA2 device when done.
Insert the 256MB+Wifi SD card, and activate the Wifi !!!
You might find that I've gone the long way as I have yet to figure out the full implications of the setup. It doesn't replace the original DLL files in /Windows as the 2 files are installed as CUSTOM SD drivers.
Perhaps we can pool our brains together and crack the SDMemory portion.
I am surfing on my XDA2 device using the Wifi as I am writing this, so I believe we are close to the verge of cracking this.

bussy deciding whitch one to buy, I'm now trying to access the neigboars netwerk.
Unless your neighbour has specifically allowed you access to his network you will probably not be allowed to connect.
And as long as you're trying with your neighbours access point, brilcas question about the make of the access point would apply to the one they have.
OK I had a wifi connection.
my brother turned his laptop into an AP and i had a connection with it.
So I know the wifi on the imate works but there's still one problem.
When i was connected with wifi and i tryed IE explorer it wanted to connected by using wifi.
How can i change that into wifi?
eltinio,
I am still trying to get WiFi to work on the WM2003SE UK XDAII version...
In response to your question, you need to tap Start > Settings > Connections and then tap Connections (make sure your WiFi card is in and enabled).
Tap the Advanced Tab and then tap the Select Networks button, from the first drop down list select My Work Network and then tap Edit.. > Proxy Settings tab and then tap the 'This Network connects to the Internet' checkbox and then tap OK to save and OK again to exit the connection manager.
You will no be able to browse the internet...
henrylim,
Could you post a link to the WiFi drivers you cooked or provide the file in this thread please so we can all test it out as most people may not able to perform the tasks you have listed to enable the WiFi drivers.
Thanks in advance,

For those, who want to connect via BT stack. Yes it is not so clear about the APN,but this will connect via your default internet connection, that you're using on the go(The APN is described there):
1.Pair your Himalaya with a PC.
2.Start the Wireless Modem app.and choose Bluetooth. Then tap to Start button. Your device must be in Discoverable mode!
3.Now in computer click to the 'My Bluetooth Places' icon on the desktop.
4.Open the connected Himalaya and click to the SSA service.
5.Now the connection window will appeared. Choose the *99# as a dialed number and click to Dial.
That's it.
Using GPRS/EDGE as a Modem to access internet with Desktop/ Notebook Computer
When I need to connect my Notebook to the internet, I always prefer Wifi or Broadband line. If no such medium to connect internet, I will use PDA and USB cable. First of all, you need a modem driver for Windows 2000/XP and a simple dial-up utility. Both files are available here: USB Modem. It is a zip file and has 2 files, (1) USBMDM.INF, (2) USBModem_Dialer.exe. Just download them and unpack to you Desktop/Notebook. Second, you must set the partnership to your Desktop/Notebook first before proceed following set up.
Go to program and run “Modem Link” and set the connection type. In this case, choose USB and APN and tap on the Activate button (In my example, APN is Peoples.net). The device has switched to the modem mode and is ready to connect.
Photo 1 -3
At the moment you connect the PDA to a desktop or notebook over USB cable, the computer will connect the PDA. Let the system work until you see the Photo 4, select third options as red arrow, click Next.
In the next dialogue Photo 5, you can see that the new device is called HTC USB Modem. Even though the system offers to do this for you, you'd better select the second option as red arrow to be able to select location of the driver manually.
In the next dialogue Photo 6, choose the folder where you have unpacked USBMDM.INF from there archive and click Next to continue. The system will be working and configuring for a while. If no problems occur, you have installed the modem successfully.
Go to your desktop/notebook, double click USBModem_Dialer.exe that is part of the zip file you had previously unpacked. (Photo 7) As you see the APN must same as PDA one. (In my example, APN is Peoples.net) Click Dial.
Done. You can surf internet with you desktop/notebook.
Important : The key of this setting is that the APN for PDA and Notebook/Desktop must be same. The name of APN which you can ask the services provider.
Please note that all photo is not mine but I tested on my 818pro & Wizard and Notebook and work fine
Great info! I use my qtek9100 and T-mobileGPRS every day for this purpose. Only thing that is different is that I use the standard Dailup Networking of XP. You don't need to specify a APN but you have to fill in a number to Dial: *99#
I tried the above on my O2 XDA Atom and it didnt work, first in the PDA I was unable to select th APN (the dropdown list was empty). second thing is on my laptop when i tried to select the USBMDM.INF the laptop rejected it as unfit for the hardware.
help.
Hi all.
I'm not able to enter the APN number in my Dopod 818 Pro too. Any ideas how?
this is what i did on my O2 mini:
i. Installed USB Modem dialer on my notebook.
ii. Before connecting the PDA: Disable allow USB and allow Network checkboxes on Microsoft ActiveSync Connection Setting.
iii. Go to Task Manager on the Notebook. Disable all WCExxx processes.
iv. Create Dialup Connection as you create for normal dial up phone connection: No username or password: Dial up no *99#
v. In your PDA, Open Wireless Modem: Click at Start.
vi. Connect your PDA to notebook using USB cable.
vii. Changed modem properties at dial up connection to HTC modem.
viii. Proceed with dial up.
so far it works for me...
pls help
the device already switched to modem mode and connect to decktop,
but the desktop cannot detect to 838pro.nothing detect new device.
and how to setting the partnership to your Desktop/Notebook first .
thankyou very much

hi,
u will not be able to change apn anyways.u can only see it.
1st u should setup to access gprs internet on your ppc. this u do by going to
start>settings>connections>add a new modem connection, under select modem, cellular line gprs, next, now enter access point name as given by ur gprs service provider [mine is airtelgprs.com, gprs provider being airtel bengalooru] ,next, username and password as given by ur gprs provider [mine is leave both blank] , finish.
now go to modem link in start, programs, u can see ur apn as u entered.
if u still cannot see, go to start, settings, connections, connections, advanced, select networks, under programs that connect to internet, select the name of gprs u entered in above steps.
now u can goback and see in modem link.
now without activating modem link, browse internet in ppc only to c if all is right with ur gprs. if sucessful, then close pocket ie, activate modem link, connect to desktop or laptop via usb cable, use usb modem dialer or create other connection with no. as *99#[which is better, since in usb modem dialer, u cannot save apn, have to retype everytime]
any problemo in setting up gprs connection in ppc , contact ur gprs provider for settings. make sure gprs works in ppc b4 u setup to work in desktop.
alternate methods to use wizard as modem would be to use bluetooth DUN, or try pdanet 1.7
I don't find any variations in speed in any methods, all r as gud or as bad.
after hard reset,i can connect to devicve.
when dial to connet to internet ,snow "remote access error 797"
pls help
thanks
my PPC (XDA Stealth) is already in GPRS/Modem mode. when i connect it to my laptop using the sync cable, my laptop automatically installed its drivers. it didn't ask me to specify which driver to install. when i run HTC USB Modem, it says No USB Modem.
hi..I hav everything installed properly n it was workin earlier n now when I try to dial up the connection, it says hardware failure of modem...when tried pdanet it always says modem busy...pls help...
any way to do this with a G4 ibook?

I'm still having trouble. I connect the USB cable (after selecting connect onthe Internet Sharing). When I go through the process and select the .inf file, my PC (running WinXP) says that the "file contains no info for the device". What's going on with that?

Have you installed the drivers on your device? The card should have come with a CD, if not go to the manufacturers site.
Can you detect any networks?
Please describe the problem more precisely, and maybe someone can guide you better then this.
I'm totaly new in this.I tryed to folow instructions in manua.I instailed all drivers that i have recived, but still i can not find network and i have one wireless in my house. My main problem is that i don't know how i can make set up in my Qtek 2020.Thankx for any sugestion
Ok, I never actually used a separate SD card, but I just finished setting up my home network last week so I'll try to give you some pointers until someone more knowledgeable comes along.
1) If everything was installed correctly, you should get a new icon, in settings or programs (depends on the card I think) for the Wireless utility.
There should be an option to turn it on and off, so make sure its on.
2) If you are not sure how your network is configured, or just don't want the hassle of manually setting up the device, download Hitchhiker.
http://www.kasuei.com/hitchhiker/ its a free app that will automatically configure WiFi and connect you to the network. You will need .NET CF2 installed for it to work.
Also you can see any networks that were detected in Start->Settings->Connections->Network cards. You can choose there which one to connect to or manually configure the settings.
Thank you mr.Levenum!!!!
I will download tomorow this progam and i will try to connect SD card with Qtek again.I hope that will working well.Thank you too much for your help. Best regards

Try checking the settings on you router.
Is it set to broadcast SSID?
What standard is the WLAN card B / G ? And what standards does the router support?
Also it is possible that your router is set to a channel the WLAN card does not support (my router supports up to channel 14, but my Jamin only up to 11)
Try using a different channel.
Hi guys,
Just connected the HD to a new Columbus radio system using rSAP.
First of all, I am not the one who made the .cab file needed, I simply followed the instructions on this site, and fiddled around a bit:
http://briskoda.net/superb-ii/howto...us-rns510-using-non-compatible-mobile/131709/
Here's what I did to get it working:
1) Download the .cab files from the above mentioned thread
2) Install .net compact framework 3.5
3) Install the BT_sap.cab file, it will say installation failed, but just ignore that..
4) Using file explorer, find "SAP settings" in the windows folder and click it.
5) Go to start => settings => connections => bluetooth and turn on bluetooth and make your device visible.
6) Uncheck the authentication or password box, then check the box that says "remote sim acces"
7) Connect to the radio.
That's all folks
Hope it works for you, please write your findings here.

I've got the same problem. It went away for a while and my phone reconnected normally. But recently I had to soft reset my phone and the trouble has started all over again.
Has anyone resolved this issue? I did manage to get it working earlier (but I don't know how), so there must be a resolution to it.

On my Touch Dual, i had installed a BT_SAP.cab file, and worked perfectly, everytime i left the car, the phone turned the network on.
