clock displays incorrect time - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

every now and then, like every 2 days my clock goes back an hour, even when its synced, anyone know whats going on? i have the correct gmt setting just dont know why its doing that.

I assume you are sync'ing the clock with your PC when you sync? Might be worth checking the PC clock at the same time (when the clock is wrong) and see if that is also wrong, it could be a PC clock issue rather than a PPC one.

Is also worth checking that you have the same regional local set on both the pocket pc and your PC. I found that despite setting my XDA to GMT the regional local was still the US rather than UK.

Ensure you've got daylight saving enabled as well.
Some weather apps etc sync the time, so might not be set correctly to DLS time either.

thanks for all your input, i checked through all those and everything seems to be right, hasnt happened since i posted this problem last night. hopefully it wont happen again, but its just odd that it happens sometimes, and what bothers me is its off from the pc time.

Clock shows wrong time!

Since a few days my Touch's clock time is about 3 minutes ahead of real time. It does not accept the time synchronized with activesync and when I use synchrotime the wrong time is back after a couple of minutes.
Any idea what could cause this disturbing behaviour?

When sync'ing with pc, make sure you have allowed for syncronizing date & time
When pc is connected to HD, open Activesync > Tools > Options > Settings > and ensure 'Syncronize pocket pc date & time upon connecting' is ticked
Thank you very much for trying to help me.
Time synchro in activesync is activated.
Perhaps this helps to explain my problem:
When I update my time using Synchrotime over the internet connected via wlan the query shows a time difference of 179.00 seconds. When adjusting to the correct time the wrong one is back after a couple of minutes without doing nothing at all on my touch. The time difference stays between 150 und 179 seconds so the time is not running too slow.
Hmmmm. Haunted black stone! Some one is updating you time in the background.. may be your phone service provider
Go to Settings>Phone>Time Zones> Uncheck - Automatic Change Time zone and clock. See if that helps.
Great! Deactivating the synchro via phone solved the problem.

Calendar and alarm problem

I have two problems with my HD2:
1: Date periodically resets to 10.06.2000.
2. Time changes one hour ahead.
The phone does it all by itself.
Timezones are set correctly, both on phone and computer. Date is set correctly. My Location is set correctly. I just cant find why it happens.
I have disabled Start/settings/menu/all settings/personal/phone/GSM/UMTS services/Time Synchronisation. But it happens again.
Anybody has also this problem?
Thanx
Time and Date Problem
Does anybody know anything about above problem?
My phone become useless this way. Both time and date are constantly wrong!
(alarm does not work properly too, but there is a thread pretty much covering it.)
I also have problem with the date. Every other day it will set the year to 2001 (the day/month will stay correct).
I installed the update for the calendar, but that did nothing to solve this issue.
Very annoying indeed!
HD 2 calendar and time problem
I have just noticed that launching Garmin Mobile XT resets the date.
How can it be
I will watch closely to determine if there are other causes for this too.
I really would like to avoid hard reset. So much work to do again... and even I am not sure it will help.
I found that it was GpsModDriver that was causing my problem with the date.
After updating to the latest version (1.51) the date problem is gone.
Great, BUT, now instead the time/location changes to "My Location" everytime I use it... I suppose if you don't travel much it's not really a problem, but for me it's really annoying to have to reset the location every time I use the GPS.

Daylight Saving Time

Hello there.
Were just turned clocks one hour back, beacuse of a DST and my HTC HD Mini just doesnt do it . I can change clock in ''Local Time & Date'' but i cant change the ''City'' (GTM+1 is gray color, nothing happens if i click it). But even if i do set the clock, when i restart the device it's back wrong.
Hey i woke up this morning and had notification on my mini stating that due to daylight time saving the time had been adjusted. It also mentioned that i should check the time to see if it was correct. I did notice that i was connected to the internet, which may be of influence. See if going online with your mini has an effect on the clock
No luck there .
kazmir1991, which ROM do you have exactly ?

Mine did too, but it wasn't connected to the internet. However, I'm having this problem after that
I am using the most recent stock rom from the HTC website. I just set my clock to 'My Location' were it selected gmt+1 and adjusted the time according to daylight time saving. I wouldn't know otherwise.

time keeps changing

My tab(unrooted) has an issue where the time keeps going back by an hour. All of my time setting are OK. Any one else have this issue or know a possible fix
You probably don't have your timezone set right. Set it and you should be golden.
I've ckecked and double checked my time zone. It is correct
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Does the hour change or the minutes?
I had time issues with both my Tabs, despite setting the correct time zone on startup. No amount of fiddling seemed to correct it.
Then I installed a program called ClockSync from the Market. Its a free app. It can automatically fix the time setting if you're rooted (and keep you in sync), or guide you how to do it manually if you're not rooted. Once I used this program to get my settings correct, I've been right as rain since.
Sorry, I just started a new thread, I don't know if our issues are the same -

Mine shows an hour different in certain things. The clock doesn't change by an hour, some things appear to use GMT and some BST...

Incorrect Clock/Time After Hibernation

Hi,
I checked the web on this issue and have found it being reported on other sites but I can't seem to find the resolution, if there is one....
I received my Nexus 4 last Friday. Been digging it ever since. I came from the SG2 Skyrocket on att. I realized how much I miss the pure Android experience on a phone without the carrier's bloatware and manufacturer software.
however during the Super Bowl, my buddies and I discovered a weird bug on the phone. Upon waking up from a "long" hibernation, my time/clock is off by 20-30 minutes. Once I reboot the phone, the time is corrected. However, it's kinda weird waking up in the morning, my bedside clocks displays the correct time but when i wake up my phone, the time/clock is incorrect.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know the resolution??
Much thanks..........
It happened to me once or twice before on my N4 stock/rooted. What is your setup under Settings>Date and Time ? Sometimes when you have Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone enabled and you are out of mobile network service, the time doesn't get updated until your phone mobile connection is restored. In my opinion, this behavior smells like a bug. Post a screen shot of that settings page if you could....

Hi Hash,
Thanks for the feedback. I went into the settings, as you directed, and see that both Automatic date & time (use network provided time) and Automatic time zone (use network provided time zone ) are both checked.
I will try and take a picture tomorrow morning for, again, it was weird looking at my cell phone which says 5:35am when my bedside clock showed 6:00am.

My Issue with Pictures
All,
To document what is happening to my phone, I am attaching pictures to this post. The early morning picture post, I had my Wifi turned on. After the pictures were taken, I turned off WiFi an let it go int hibernation until I woke up at 6am. As you'll see in the second picture, my time/clock was way off.
I am using Beautiful Widgets for the clock but can't see that causing my issues.
Any thoughts? Hate to return the phone for I'm really loving it but don't want the phone if I can't depend on the time!
Thanks!

Have you tried the stock clock to see if Beautiful widgets is the issue. Try that first. Next thing I would try is to leave WiFi on during sleep and see if the issue is fixed. I would expect to have some lag after a wakeup for the clock to update but no more than 15 seconds. Good luck.

Thanks Grubbster -- I have to admit and I'm somewhat embarrassed in doing so, I couldn't figure out how to use the stock clock on my home screen and when I couldn't figure it, I thought "hey, I purchased Beautiful Widgets...I'll just add that clock to my screen....".
FYI -- I have always left my wifi on during the night and into hibernation. Last night I had the brain child thinking maybe it's the Wifi that is causing my delays for when I first noticed the time issue on Sunday, it was while I had my Wifi on....so I thought I'd turn it off to see if the time would be correct......freaking weird....

The stock clock is a widget. Just go into your widgets, long press the clock, and drag it to your home screen. Also, does the clock in the status bar show the correct time when waking up?
Check your beautiful widget app settings to see if there is anything related to updating system settings. Maybe a frequency (10 min, 15 min, etc.) that needs to be changed.

Ok. Thanks -- duh -- there it is. I'll try this for a day to see if this will resolve the issue.
This has happened to me once, on Faux's kernel. It was my first time ever undervolting my device, and I undervolted by -100 mV (fast binned chip). It did it twice, and both during deep sleep. But the time corrected itself once I go into Settings > Date & Time and unchecking-and-rechecking the Auto Time setting.

No. No task killer....though I have to admit....I was discussing my issue with a fellow phone geek. He believes my 2 options are: if it's an internal hardware issue, I'll need to get a new phone if it loses connection to the antenna which connects to my att network for the time/clock. Or if it's a software issue, then maybe a flash can resolve it.
I'm also going to contact Google later today and see what my return options are if, by tomorrow, I'm still experiencing this..
Thanks...
