Letter Recogniser and two-stroke letter input problem - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi there,
I have an XDA II and use letter recogniser which has worked fine until today.
I have not installed any new software. I was inputting some text and suddenly (literally) I lost the ability to enter the letter T, or I or any letter requiring two strokes. All that occurs is the single stroke equivalent is recognised.
I have no idea why this happened and would appreciate any advice from anyone.
Thanks,
Pete

XDA II stopped learning words for input text prediction

Hi! I badly need your help, after i did a soft reset, my device stopped learning words for text prediction. I understand that our device should be able to \'learn\' new words after we use them a couple of times, then eventually include it in the text prediction (the word that is displayed on top of the keyboad after typing a few characters) It used to work fine but after the soft reset, this feature failed to recognize new words i entered.
and now i\'m stuck with the default words it was packaged with.
I really need your help on this..What should i do?
Would appreciate any help. THANKS!

PocketMusic messes up Letter Recognizer?

Hi there! Been using my Qtek S100 for a couple of days now, and enjoying it more and more every day!
But, I've been experiencing a quite annoying problem.
As said in the topic, PocketMusic f***s with Letter Recognizer.
It is noticed like this:
Have PocketMusic running. You don't need to be playing music or so, just have it in memory. Then you try to type a message or something using Letter Recognizer. Then, some letters will NOT work as they do normally. For example:
According to the software, you can type the letter "t" either by:
1. Drawing a vertical line, lifting the stylus, and then drawing a horizontal line a little above center on the vertical line.
2. Same as above, but without lifting the stylus.
3. Typing it as a 7.
Now, when PocketMusic is running in the background, only version 2 and 3 works! When you try to do it as nr. 1, you see that a "t" shows up, but skips back to an "l" instead, but fast as a blink. The same applies to the letter "i", which you can't type by drawing a vertical line from top to bottom and then putting a dot on top. It will become an "l" instead there too!
So, it seems that, while running PM, you can't lift the stylus while typing a letter. Maybe this isn't too annoying for most people since you can type the letters in other ways, BUT, for me being a scandinavian, I can't type the scandinavian letters åäö AT ALL!
Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know what to do about it? (Other than turning off PM, telling me that would only insult my intelligence) Does anyone know if this problem is old? I seem to recall having this problem years back on my Pocket Loox 600, but I'm not entirely sure...
There must be other people experiencing this problem, please share your experiences and solutions!
Thanks,
Petter
I have noticed the same thing, thought i was just going senile! Must be a bug or something, does anyone know?

I know. Anything you try to write that can't be written without lifting the stylus wont work!
And for me, it is definately PM. Shut it down and it works perfect... Wonder what messes with you.
Anyone has anything on this one? Come on guys! This problem is old, someone must know!
For me works only in case of Hard reset...

Primoz
p.s. Any suggestions or tips are wellcome...

Problem with Text Input

Hello,
I've run into an odd problem with my HD and clueless on how to fix it. It seems that when I type using the compact qwerty and phone pad keyboards, pressing a letter key will instead produce a number. For example, if I wanted to type out an A letter, the number 2 comes out instead, M comes out as 6, T as 8, etc. Its always the little symbol above the letters for each key. However, the full qwerty keyboard works fine.
Any idea how I can get it back to normal? Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this same problem and I fixed it by disabling T9 mode in HDTweak.

Problems in SMS texts

Hi
I wonder if some one else has the same problem with SMS writing. When i write a sms message the courser is not adjacent with the words. example
" Abcd efgh ijk[l mnop " the courser appears behind the stream of writing. then when i want to correct a letter in the middle of a text i never get to the specific place for example if i want to correct the letter K i can not get to the exact spot the courser is on the k but it deletes another letter .
[---> is the courser.
Thanks
No problems with me. used Keypads and Letter recogniser, no problem. May be you can try re-aligning the screen again.
i re-alignind the screen but no change same problem.

[Q] Regarding keyboard auto-input and correcting

Hello all,
I've searched through the G2 forums and this one but couldn't find the fix I was hoping for.
On my G1, whenever I typed two spaces after a word it automatically put in a period. I liked that. My DZ also does that. Good stuff.
However, when I forgot to capitalize the letter 'i' in a sentence it would magically change it to a capital on my G1, the DZ doesn't do that and needs two keystrokes.
Can I change a setting somewhere? All I have is Prediction in my menu, and I don't like to use that as it created more work for me than it was worth.
Perhaps using the HTC IME from the G1 ROM?
I sure did like that keyboard layout on the G1 (and it's prediction), too bad we lost the top keyboard row of dedicated numbers; it now takes me twice as long to bang out my epithets.

I have turned on the predictive txt, then added I'm to the dictionary. Then when you type im, even though the green highlighted word still shows "im", it will insert it as I'm.
Hope it works for you and isn't a fluke for me, I'll be well annoyed if I have to keep adding it. Fingers crossed.
Hey ddotpatel!
You were on to something there, and it made me dig...
I prefer to not have the predictive text turned on as I'm worried that it slows down my phone...
I found that in Settings, Language & Keyboard, Touch Input, International Keyboard the Français(Canadian) keyboard was also checked.
Unchecking Français(Canadian) reverted my keyboard to the input I came to know and love on my G1.
The standalone letter 'i' now capitalizes in mid-sentence, and 'im' now converts to 'I'm' after the space key, exactly the way I wanted it.
I guess Bell (Canada) sells these units all across the country and has one default setting to satisfy both official languages.
Thanks for the suggestion.
