Having some problems connecting my polstar Bluetooth gps unit with my mda. Using Tom Tom V5.00 software.
Can someone reassure me it’s the outdated firmaware that is causing problems and not the equipment itself.

i believe there is a problem with tom tom 5.00 and bluetooth gps units. If you have a legit version of the software go to tomtom.com and upgrade to tom tom 5.10 and this should sort it. If not search on this forum for tom tom bluetooth patch as i am sure it is about somewhere. Find this patch and your problems should be sorted!

Hi
I had tom tom 5 up & running on my wizard. However I might have fiddled with the GPS program activated by registry hack & now tom tom will not pair with my Holux GPSlim 236, nor can I pair my wizard with Holux using their software. Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong from limited info I've supplied & how I can get everything working fine again.
As ever any morsel of help greatly appreciated.

I would like to use Tom Tom on my (standard) Vario II and I'm not sure what I need to run it.
Do I need to upgrade my handset to GPS? If so, how do I do this?
Cheers.
You need the TomTom software and the maps of course as well as a seperate GPS Receiver because the MDA Vario II doesn't have any integarated GPS function.
Most people go for Bluetooth GPS Receivers although there are some cases where you might want a Wired GPS Receiver, to attach to the outside of your car or something for example.
Check out PocketGPSWorld for some good reviews if you want and then just browse around and take your pick.
I use the Holux GPSlim 240 which is fantastic.
Hi all,
I have qtek s200 with original wm5 rom.
My problem is:
I pair my gps with my s200, open tom tom and everything works.
But If i close tom tom (only close tom tom, s200 is not turned off or rebooted) and open tom tom again s200 asks me to pair gps device again ... so i have to insert the passwd number and select a port again for connection.
This happens not only with tom tom but with every other program.
Please help me.
P.S. I searched forum but couldn't find a solution.

Pair the device, wait a few minutes, then shut your Prophet down (don't restart it with the reset pin) and power it back up. See if the settings persist...
